I agree with most of your post but I'm15 years old and live in Kentucky. Yet, I only have real hip-hop on my iPod (that's not the only genre of course I can get down with Coltrane anytime). Real hip-hop is as follows: Organized Konfusion, Gang Starr, Wu-Tang, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, KRS, Common, Camp Lo, MF Doom, Madlib, Black Milk, The Roots, Blaq Poet, Jeru, Lupe (he's made the mainstream but his music is legit), Jean Grae, Immortal Technique, Murs, etc. I could go on & on but you get the point
