Ernie Isley and Chris Jasper were the geniuses behind the great music that came out between 1973 and 1983. Ron Isley , Rudy Isley, Kelly Isley and Marvin Isley were the other anchors to carry that music to the next level. That's why all of them are special. Long live the Isley Brothers and Chris Jasper.

Now Victor you know music and sounds. The Isley Brothers were great and their success speaks for itself. arosesr, if you never bought their songs, they wouldn't miss a beat. This song all by itself, shows the power and harmony of this group. So the majority, 10's of millions disagree with you.
@robsylspiller I listen to the isley brothers all the time, they are one of my top 5 groups but I understand that not everyone likes the isley brothers. I understand arosesr "rare" POV because I get that same backlash when I say I dont really like starcraft (i know its random but just as huge) I've learned that its different flavors for different testers. Classic track that just makes you shake your head from side to side, snap your fingers and close your eyes as you think about that one who has that effect on your heart. A irresistable chorus from the most magnificent falsetto in the game.

A lot of you will be mad at me, but the Isley Brothers were not that good of a group. Most of their stuff sounds the same. You can stop calling me the names, because I know music.
@arosesr No one's mad, sir. Your opinion is just that, and opinion. Do you know Soul Music? If so, I would love a history lesson :) I really don't think the Isley Brothers' music sounded the same, they had a distinctive sound (Big difference). Artists back in the day were not only talented, but they stayed in their lane. Mtume had a distinctive sound, Leon Sylvers III had a distinctive sound, Kashif had a distinctive sound. Were they not good, neither?
@victornewman06 Good Point victornewman06 You Are 100% Correct Your Analysis Was Spot On And We Have The Right To Like What We Like And Those Who Dissent Have The Right To Dislike What They Dislike The Greatness Of America How Bless We All Are!
@victornewman06 - You're right. But, fortunately, The Isleys had enough fans who appreciated their DISTINCTIVE sound, that they didn't depend on folks like arosesr liking their music. I loved their music the first time I became aware of them as a child, about 40 years ago, and I still love it today.
Pardon me, but I've never heard of you. What's the name of your album? Or are you a producer, engineer, musician, music critic, etc. Or are you just another person with an opinion?!
@arosesr You may think you may know music but you must not know women, they melt when they hear the Isley's. Try puttin' on "Livin' For The Love Of You" 'n see what happens
@arosesr You may think you know music but you must not know women, try playin' "Livin' For The Love Of You" the next time you wanna get cozy w/ a lady
@arosesr What a Burn Out. You could say the same shit about Steely Dan... or the Magic Johnson's Lakers. They WIN and this is the formula!
Beat it Amadeus! How the FUCK are you going to talk shit about a group that started off doing Doo Wop and is still relevant in the 21st Century? Go find Elvis! and I am mad at your silly ass.
The Isley Brothers are the only group that has had songs for every decade since the 1950s through 2010 with Ronald Isley still putting it out there. Many of us still listen to Shout which came out in 1959 through these hits from the 70s and 80s.
This hit Here we go again is got one is the best sounds, man the beat says chillin on a fine Sunday afternoon with your girl or family. The music was phenomenal. The Isley's were the group. I'm glad Ron is out.
I think it more than the music. These are just reminders of different times that we may not have appreciated. Old school doesn't feel next gen's music but forgot the old school BEFORE the old school that thought this music wasn't groundbreaking or lasting.
Point: Today's music will be classics in your kids eyes and THEIR kids' music won't sound groundbreaking or lasting either. This is one of thw world's oldest traditions -- hating new sounds and clinging to old sounds, afraid of change.
@les907 "if you can divide, you can conquer".....willie lynch has infiltrated our culture, exploited it, and manipulated it, first dividing young and elder, then dividing man and woman, the generational divide has led to music's decline, if things would have been allowed to occur naturally after the golden era of music, there would never be a distinction between OLD SCHOOL and NEW SCHOOL, the more we refer to these distinctions, the more we continue to deny each each generation.
@les907 I saw things were declining as far back as 1988, I guarantee the generation of the 1950's and 60's embraced the music expression of the 70's..guaranteed, you think people in their 40's and 50's back in the 70's weren't rockin to Marvin Gaye, first sign of trouble is when artists would begin to rely on sampling, taking the road less traveled, while at the same time rejecting the era that created the greatest era of music.....change just for the sake of it doesn't promote well being
@scorpionJB Apples and oranges. Big time samplers (ie.Kanye West) pays royalties to song owners (most times the artists themselves) for permission to use. I saw Lenny Williams admit to getting paid by West live in concert. So, it's who's fault? The artists who use music they love to make new sounds to bridge new school to old school? OR maybe the record companies who produce and publish the new sound to make a buck? Maybe old school's fault for selling samples in a failed/failing economy?
@les907 I hear you.....RICK JAMES was the first artist who was able to earn royalties from a current artist sampling his muisc, MC HAMMER back in 1990, but sampling began to take shape 4-5 years ahead of time w/out royalties being paid...the problem is that new school and old school has not been bridged, because if the generations were truly bridged, there wouldn't be any distinction between a new school, old school, the more we say it, the more seperation it's going to be
The content of this song is so smooth as are all of their ballads! They don't make them like this anymore! I want music like this playing at my deathbed!
Songs were written to made points that we as humans experience in relationships, love, etc...Being a baby boomer the old school music was permissible..The Isley Borhter's have made history in the music INDUSTRY!!!!
@foxybrownsugar05 Look at the artists of today as compared to those of the era of talent. Today, you have a bunch of "face men(and women)" with no talent, but they ALL look good. With all of the editing going on, it's easy to make them sound good. I'm not saying that the groups of old were comprised of a bunch of "ugly people", rather your TALENT and what you brought to the group determined your place. If you lost your "face man/woman)", you replaced them because the core was still there.
Only fifteen, I was raised in a house of Old School. Especially tracks like this one. Thanks for putting it up, our generation needs to give an ear to it.
Have you ever broke up with someone, then you see them again and it's like old times. You both talk, laugh for a bit. Then you come home and listen to this song and wonder. IF ONLY I HAD ANOTHER CHANCE!
By the way, the video I posted may say, 1987 Corvette by Lonewolf, it features the song; "Chocolate Lollipop" by the band, Funkanauts. Take a listen and enjoy.
Ah, I just love reading these comments. As my wife of 28 yrs. tells me, we are the perfect age to be living (we are 63 now). We have seen and heard the best that has happened during this time. Also the worst that we as humankind have created, pollution, waste of food and the environment. And the best that music has offered. Even todays kids must realize what we OG's have passed on to them. Great music like this is & always will be, the best. Posting a song by my band for ya to listen to.
ScorpionJB your absolutely right. This is what you call singing. The Isley's, Rene and Angela, The ebonies. Smokey Robinson, and so many more, from Detroit to Philly and La With Barry White and company. the 80's 70's and early 90's was the day. I wonder how these new crop of entertainers feel knowing that they can't touch this kind of power and soul.
@robsylspiller I'm sure today's entertainers deep down know their music doesn't compare to the golden era, but they have the potential to do it, but they want to express themselves in such a destructive manner, they can't have it both ways, there's only one true way to do it, and they don't want to, because it's all spiritual to begin with
THIS GOOD TIME MUSIC!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU KNOW WHEN YOU RIDIN AND TURN THIS SHIT ON AND THE OTHER PARTY GET QUIET?WHAT DO YOU DO? AND HOW TO HANDLE IT? COME ON PEOPLE, IM NOT THE ONLY ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THIS IS HOW I FEEL WHEN I USE TO GO THUR SOME SHIT WITH MY BOO IT WAS ALWAY'S THE LEAVIN PART THAT WAS EASY' CAUSE I KNEW IT WAS HERE WE GO AGAIN' OVER AND OVER' UNTIL IT WAS REALLY OVERRRRRRRRR.
I am thinking about throwing a party with some friends and play nothing but classic songs like this. The invitation will say "THIS IS A SLOW JAM & CHA CHA PARTY MAINLY" so bring your girl, guy, wife, husband and anybody that loves to dance to good music and songs like this! GOD BLESS THE ISLEY BROTHERS FOREVER...
Actually this song was my intro to the Isley Brothers. My Uncle has this album in 1980. I was 14. He had a bomb-ass system with these bad-ass headphones. I put this album, and those headphones on and was literally transported to another freakin' planet!
Damn!! I can remember me and my father , just kicking it at the car wash in LA california listening 2 this casset tape , i was only a boy then, but always love the sounds of the isleys,
Down in Dallas we swing out its sort of like steppin in the Chi....This is undeniably my favorite song to swing out to....waiting on the Isleys to drop the new one til then will keep jamming the classics
Remember those old, orange T-Neck label records we used to play on our turntables...with the snap-crackle-pop in the background? This song reminds me of all those cozy late evenings from back in the day, when we'd play cards and listen to records all night long...and such songs as this were part of the backdrop.
people just don't know, this is one of the finest cuts there is. Only the Isley's can do it like this! I remember this song back in the day and tore the album up playing it over and over.
@ssbbw00 back in the day, and i lived back in the day music had a purpose a message, It was inspirational, moving, made you think. The Isleys has been kicking it hard for ever now, I love them, but can't leave out Earth Wind and Fire, Sly and the Family stone, Herbie Hancock, and of course Marvin Gaye. The Isleys have the title of baby making musicians for life. peace yall, and check out my poetry
I was rollin' with a friend and just got home. This great Isley Brothers music was dropped into my spirit. Had to give an ear. Jammin' to this years ago when it was new. Hadn't given' an ear to this in years. Glad I did. The memories and the message was needed for my spirit. Thanks for the post. Jammin' right now. 1forgvn70X7!

By the way, the video I posted may say, 1987 Corvette by Lonewolf, it features the song; "Chocolate Lollipop" by the band, Funkanauts. Take a listen and enjoy.
Lonewolf36 1 year ago
Ah, I just love reading these comments. As my wife of 28 yrs. tells me, we are the perfect age to be living (we are 63 now). We have seen and heard the best that has happened during this time. Also the worst that we as humankind have created, pollution, waste of food and the environment. And the best that music has offered. Even todays kids must realize what we OG's have passed on to them. Great music like this is & always will be, the best. Posting a song by my band for ya to listen to.
Lonewolf36 1 year ago 2
ScorpionJB your absolutely right. This is what you call singing. The Isley's, Rene and Angela, The ebonies. Smokey Robinson, and so many more, from Detroit to Philly and La With Barry White and company. the 80's 70's and early 90's was the day. I wonder how these new crop of entertainers feel knowing that they can't touch this kind of power and soul.
robsylspiller 1 year ago
@robsylspiller I'm sure today's entertainers deep down know their music doesn't compare to the golden era, but they have the potential to do it, but they want to express themselves in such a destructive manner, they can't have it both ways, there's only one true way to do it, and they don't want to, because it's all spiritual to begin with

Remember those old, orange T-Neck label records we used to play on our turntables...with the snap-crackle-pop in the background? This song reminds me of all those cozy late evenings from back in the day, when we'd play cards and listen to records all night long...and such songs as this were part of the backdrop.
