  • 666 has returned. Sancte Michael take us out of this upside down universe and into paradise our space ship our Mother Earth.

  • Sancte Michael in our hearts in these times of peril!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @aalisbury : ok, the correct name on the correct thing, and all become clear. A lot of people are confused about gregorian chant. One example : Master of Chant, they are not gregorian at all, but lot of people believe they sing it !... In some days I'll record me to show what is real gregorian chant. Waiting this, you can listen common gregorian psalms : search on Youtube "Vêpres à St-Bruno de Bordeaux", and go to 1:00 .

  • Saint Michael the Archangel,

    defend us in battle.

Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.

    May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;

and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host - by the Divine Power of God -

cast into hell, satan and all the evil spirits, who roam throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls.

    Amen.

  • Gregorian chants are sung in Latin if I am correct... I studied Latin for many years. There is no "perfect" in anything in this world. From what I can hear, he is singing in very good latin. He has a lower voice than a lot of people and the recording is slightly distorted thus giving a worse impression. He is not just screaming that's a silly thing to say. How is he totally unable to read a score? He's singing the score which makes you look like a muppet. And why must I respect you?

  • This is NOT gregorian song !!! Just a cow screaming in a church !

Sorry, but this musical mistake is too enormous !!!

This singer need 3 years of lessons with a good teacher of REAL gregorian.

  • @demusicasacra Unsuccessful troll is unsuccessful.

  • @Airwalk2k8 : what "troll" ?? What "unsuccessful" ?? Truth is never a troll job. Who pretend to sing gregorian chant must learn it during several years before post a record of himself. This singer have no experience of gregorian chant, and is totally unable to read a gregorian score. He ignore what is "ictus", "arsis", "thesis" and other basis of gregorian chant. The result : just a scream. Why I can say that ? Because I teach gregorian song. So respect those who really know this subject !

  • @demusicasacra we rebuke your HATE!

  • @demusicasacra You are correct. Dr. Yeagley (the voice) told me that after I had posted it. He was commissioned by someone in New York to take the entire catholic rosary in latin and create this type of "Gregorian" chant. He gave it another name. I gave it this title in my ignornance.

  • Sancte Michael Archangele, defende nos in prælio; contra nequitiam et insidias diaboli esto præsidium.Imperet illi Deus, supplices deprecamur: tuque, Princeps militiæ cælestis, Satanam aliosque spiritus malignos, qui ad perditionem animarum pervagantur in mundo, divina virtute in infernum detrude. Amen.

  • @seahorseofvenice I re-read what I wrote and I can't find where I accused the Roman Catholics of being iconoclasts or arians...

As far as would God allow heretics to evangelize the world, what do you think of the Protestant Reformation, or the fact that recently Orthodoxy has been spreading into the West?

  • This is YouTube, not a forum. I'm not putting any more into this exchange.

  • From my perspective, due to the divergence in doctrines expressed, taught, and enacted by the 'Catholic' 'Church's' Popes, your Popes through the ages have all anathematized each other and the Churches they oversaw.

  • @nessunopassato I'll let the doctrinal consistency of 2000 years of the Orthodox Church's theology speak for itself. The , so-called 'Roman' 'Catholic' 'Church' has changed her theology and continued to diverge from the Apostolic Teaching since she decided she knew better than the other 4 Eastern Churches in 1054. Wasn't it Pope Leo III that inscribed the Creed w/o the filioque in Greek and Latin on silver shields in order to make his point?

  • St. Michael the Archangel defend us in battle, be our defence against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rubuke him we do humbly pray and do thou oh Prince of the heavenly host bt the power of God cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen

  • Jesus is not Michael the Archangel

  • Chistus vincit, Chistus regnat,Chistus imperat!!!!!

  • Holy Archangel Michael, defend us in battle; against the malice and snares of the devil be thou a bulwark. On our knees we pray that God may be his commander; and thou, oh Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God thrust into hell Satan and the other evil spirits who roam the world to the perdition of souls. Amen.

  • ora et labora

  • i find it weird how religious people comment on gregorian chants (mainly christians or muslims) saying god is the way god is the way blah blah blah

you realise gregorian chants come from the latin church and catholicism, religions that pretty much scawned upon christianity and then, just like the hypocrits religions are, "evolved" into christianiity.

stop ruining such beautiful and gorgeous music by your religious comments, you just look silly.

  • @jaydeybugz ?? how can you start out christian and evolve into christian??

It's religious music, doesnt it make sense to make religious comments, expecially considering the textual content of the hymns?

If it were me, I would say the Latin Church started out Christian and evolved into the largest heretical sect of 'christianity' in history (splitting off from the Eastern Orthodox).

I know this post will provoke a slew of angry comments. I dont plan to respond...

  • @EverythingZen14 no sepsonse? darn. well in response to no response...hehe. EverythingZen explains it very well. it is his opinion, not history. There was no "latin Church" latin is a language which simply is a tool. a means to communicate, and over time languages change. latin once was spoken through out the world, but as time passed, it's usage decreased.there are still latin Mass', however this does not mean that those in or not in latin are less important or correct.

  • @nessunopassato By 'Latin Church', I meant the Church under the Roman Patriarchate, which is no longer in communion with the Eastern Orthodox (since 1054 AD).

  • @EverythingZen14 I thought you would not respond...anyways you have your math backwards. Eastern Orthodox separated from the western Church. it's in the history pages.hence "orthodox"="having the right opinion". vs "catholic"="universal".Roman Patriarchate describes region, hence small differences between tradition/culture within Italy vs Egypt(difference in religious practice that is;i.e. speech, art, tradition). However, the main 'attributes'/Teachings are still the same.

  • @nessunopassato So,why are the current Catholic dogmas anathematize the ancient Church?

Your dogma has changed. The Filioque was refuted strongly by Pope Leo III (and the original Creed engraved in Latin and Greek on silver shields).

Papal Infallibility and the Catholic understanding of the Immaculate Conception are both heretical.

Christ needs no Vicar, as He is not dead.

Orthodox = right worship and right dogma.

As the RC is not in communion with the historic Church, it is not Catholic.

  • @EverythingZen14 -Immaculate Conception=last I checked, through the Holy Spirit. Our Holy Virgin Mother became pregnant.Exactly what the 'ancient' Church taught, but in reality this 'ancient' Church is the Catholic Church, as it has grown over the 2000+ years. Our Genealogy to St. Peter confesses it well.

Hey how you guys declare saints by the way? oh wait, only the Catholic Church does!!!! oh wow...now I don't know about you,but to me the original Church would declare Saints, no?

  • oops...please excuse my behavior, not polite in the last paragraph. pardon me, as it won't happen again.

  • @nessunopassato It is true, Christ was born of the Spirit through the Theotokos. However, God did not have to go back and apply Grace from after Christ's crucifixion to make Mary sinless. She lived a sinless life through following the Jewish customs.

Your Genealogy through St. Peter was broken when you strayed from the Faith upheld by Peter, which the Orthodox Church still proclaims to this day.

The Orthodox DO declare Saints. See St. John of Shanghai and San Francisco, who is incorrupt

  • @EverythingZen14 Catholics do not think that God "went back" to give her Grace in order to be sinless. We acknowledge her sinless life as God has planned since her birth. Through God's Grace, she was raised into Heaven body and soul.Catholicism did not stray from the Faith, just as Orthodox did not maintain an absolute tradition same as Peter's day. It is improbable as in his day Christianity was illegal.Customs were different because they had to.

  • @nessunopassato "Immaculate Conception=last I checked,through the Holy Spirit.Our Holy Virgin Mother became pregnant."

The Immaculate Conception refers to Mary's conception without original sin, not to Mary's conception of Christ by the Holy Spirit.

While both Mary and St. John the Baptist were born without original sin, only Mary was conceived without such.

  • @FSSPTulsa "While both Mary and St. John the Baptist were born without original sin, only Mary was conceived without such."

Mary being conceived 'immaculately' is Catholic doctrine, but John the Baptist being born without original sin, that's news to me!

  • @IpsaPaphum The article on St. John the Baptist in the Catholic Encyclopedia has details: newadvent. o r g / cathen/08486b.htm See the 5th paragraph or search for "original sin".

  • @jaydeybugz I am not sure if you are aware, but "scawned" is not an english word. the reported 'urban slang' usage would suggest something completely opposite to what you probably intended. could you elaborate?

oh and there are no latin Churches; only Catholic. should have stated, "developed from Catholicism". that in itself would have been fine.

  • @nessunopassato where im from scawned is something used to mean look down upon, a negative word for a person with a negative and arrogant outlook at something or something.

also, since i am from a catholic background and hugely catholic town and hugely catholic country, i know that the Gregorian chants are hardly ever used. especially in the church i went to. Catholicism is more of an umbrella word, and gregorian chants if often mistaken to come under it.

  • @jaydeybugz Improbable. there is not a single mistake as Gregorian chants are not mistaken to be Catholic, as such statement would suggest that they are not. think about what time era you are in. Latin is no longer the main language in use to communicate between all people as Greek is not the second most used language any more either.Depending on what country you are in and your main language, than that language will be used(action by Vatican 2).They are Catholic and some people still listen

  • @jaydeybugz Pope Gregory instituted "Gregorian" chants! Gregorian Chants are a catholic creation, they evolved from Gothic Chant. You also then have Byzantine Chant of the eastern Churches.

  • may muslim and christian live in peace one day. amen.

  • @TJP06 I PRAY FOR IT TOO. I AM SO VERY SORRY FOR THE WAR MADE IN IRAK BY USA, ONLY FOR GREEDY REASONS. IM SO VERY SORRY!

  • @TJP06

Unfortunately, whereas Christianity and Islam both believe in peace, they also both believe in being a universal religion. Catholic literally means universal. So, theres always going to be a disconnect between coexisting, and the doctrine of universal salvation.

Both faiths will try to actively save everyone. And in that activity there is naturally conflict.

  • @oreillyfan360 This conflict has been started in Eden. Whereas Christianity is teaching to ''love thy neighbour, love enemies, forgive them and pray for them'' islam allows you revenge and quran says that you can kill your enemy and have no sin. Jesus called it hatred. Jesus is Son of God not only ''a prophet''. Jesus is Christ- Son of the Living God. Recently in muslim countries many Christians - all denominations- are not allowed to build churches and are murdered by muslims for Jesus Christ+

  • @CorpusChristi777Amen

Yes it is true, the prophet Muhammad killed ppl with his own hand. Muslims can claim that this wasn't murder. But, Jesus Christ lived up to "turn the other cheek". Its not like Christians have a hard time saying Christ never sinned. Whereas thats one of the biggest criticisms Muslims face, is that Muhammad sinned, in multiple ways. Islam has propagated violence continuously since the 7th century.

  • Blessed is the soul who hears the Lord speaking within, who receives the word of consolation from His lips.

Blessed are the ears that catch the accents of divine whispering, and pay no heed to the murmurings of

    this world.

Blessed indeed are the ears that listen, not to the voice which sounds without, but to the truth which

    teaches within.

Wise is he to whom truth manifests it self, Not in signs and words that fade away.

Blessed is he who believes. †

  • Screw the Catholic Church. A bunch of pedophile priests in my eyes, including their head honcho, the Pope.

    Long Live Martin Luther!

  • @TheSilentVocalist dont judge because you are not perfect and you will pay for every bad word from your lips.

  • We love you saint Michael, stay with us as we toil in this world of Exile.

  • Protejei a Nossa Igreja dos ataques do Demonio.

  • beautiful GOD inspired music. PAX my brthers. Mr. Michael

  • Voces magnificae!

  • Vive le Christianisme

  • Very nice.

  • Forever Jesus

    Forever God

    Forever Good

    From an Iranian

  • Good sentiments.

Now get the folks in Bethlehem to stop driving out the Christians.

  • I wonder how many people are aware of the population of Arabic Christians, or Chaldans,as they call themselves? Our Lord and Savior spoke Aramaic

  • Yes nice point...Not many people take into consideration the amount of Arabic christians that have been displaced and their homes and land taken by jews.

  • @crusadeiscoming Taken by the jews? Try taken by the Muslims, and over the past 1300 or so years... Do some research about Christian Persecution, and you will see what I mean. Since 1984, in Pakistan alone, over 1.5 million Christians have been killed, most of them native to the area. Do I hate the Muslims, no. Do I highly disagree with their actions and their doctrine, yes. But, it is for God to judge in the end....

  • @Kyousuke687 Why you move the debate. crusadeiscoming is talking about Israel and the apartheid politics consisting on the expropriation of arab (Muslims & Christians) home holders in Jerusalem for example. about Pakistan, surely you are kidding, cuz in this region, they not have Christianity as former religion.

  • @lemondeselonmoi I apologize about the first part, my misunderstanding of what was being talked about. As for the part about Pakistan, I am not kidding. Like I mentioned in my previous post, do some research on Christian Persecution, and you will see what I was talking about.

  • @lemondeselonmoi Actually the majority of Christian land in Israel and "Palestine" that has been stolen by Muslims not Jews. In some "Palestinian" held areas it is now illegal for Christians to own property or businesses.

  • @Kyousuke687 oh come on, leave it alone....at some point, there are religious fanatics who persecute each other because of what they believe, not of the creed itself. We cannot stop them if we indeed,do not have the power to do it. Let's start with ourselves okay, we tolerate each other.I am a Muslim but I like listening to the Gregorian chant, though limited to vocalisation only. There you go.

  • @5thmizukage What? don't u guys worship Mohammed?

  • @Wolfsbane909 *sigh*.. there are other religions in iran and muslim countries, not just muslims....but islam is so present there that it basically wipes out the others.. for example it is not allowed to build churches in Saudi Arabia!

  • @5thmizukage AVE! my friend AVE!!!

  • @5thmizukage AVE! my friend AVE!!!

  • @5thmizukage so where's peace? fuck them

  • @5thmizukage The lord bless you brother

  • @5thmizukage May God bless you. So much conflict in such a beautiful country. I'll pray for your people, in the hopes that they resolve their conflicts. The Christians in Iran have been through so much, you are a strong people, may God answer our prayers. Peace unto you :)

  • @5thmizukage Awesome!

  • @5thmizukage May the Holy Mother protect you , may God Bless you and Jesus give you the strength of the spirit.

  • Thank you!

  • Catholicism is the true faith! Catholic men are noble knights in shining armour and catholic women are faithful brave virgins. Catholics must try to live like rolemodels. It´s a tough task, but with prayer and confession we will try to do our best.

    Roma Victoria!

    Pax Cristi!

  • ... wow... you're not very subtle, are you? haha. It's okay, you're absolutely right. I just think it could have been a little more... quiet? :P

  • your comments are wrong on many levels, your saying catholic women should be virgins but the pope is telling them that they are not having enough children... Let the faithful be the faithful, let those that can stay selabit stay selabit, if we all did as your asking then we would die out.... Let the pure at heart fulfill their hearts by doing Gods work & let the others that cant get on with living life.

  • No, to remain virgin until marriage is the catholic way. Married catholics dont make enough love! We need more catholic families. But to live with discipline and morality is a must during, before marriage.

  • > Nah, Don't feel like it. Just tell me.

To attempt to explain Neoplatonism in 500 characters wouldn't do it justice at all.

  • singing in there i mean

  • this is totally just some random guy in his bathroom...

  • yeah its you

  • Ambrosian is not a new style of chant. It's nearly as Gregorian, simply a different Rite. Ambrosian was named after Saint Ambrose and grew in popular use around Milan.

  • TheEndKing, chants aren't made to be "dug".They are sung prayers and not meant for leisure

  • > TheEndKing, chants aren't made to be "dug".They are sung prayers and not meant for leisure

I 'dig' these prayers. Greek Orthodox prayers as well.

  • If you dont believe in God then how can you understand his adversary the devil, and why there is good and bad???

  • I am so pleased that the Holy Father made the Latin Mass more widely available to the Faithful!

I attended my first one last Sunday. I was overwhelmed by the mystical beauty of it.

  • I usually love chants, but I was not digging this...

  • Right back at you xd,hahahahahhaha

  • ambrosian chant is old not new

  • This is not Gregorian, but nice regardless. Thank you for posting. I will be in Pecs, Hungary next month and will visit (again) the famous four tower basilica there. Hoping to create a similar video, using my images.

God bless n peace on Earth.

  • I love this. Somehow it makes you feel so peaceful although I have no idea what is being said

  • The chant sounds deep like eastern orthodox/eastern catholic. but i only knew it was gregorian or catholic is the fact is that it was monophonic instead of polyphonic.

  • Very nice - where were the pictures taken at?

  • hi srallsbury

only one thing the ambrosian chant was first, the gregorian was an evolution of ambrosian

    greetings

pd. it sounds really especial... thank you

  • Sancte Michael Archangele, defende nos in proelio

  • As a religious studies bachelor I've been continually surprised throughout my studies how much disinformation is spread about religions. The worst thing is that secular people actually think THEY are being sensible, unlike those 'dumb' believers. Ancient theological debates are simplified and measured by todays standards and ridiculed instead of valued for their contribution to the development of our culture. Educate yourself about religion before critisizing doctrines you don't understand.

  • i remember reading a philosophical argument on the origin of good ethics, and it said that many of the good ethics are religious in origin.

  • Yep, hteological debates, makes so much contributions to the world we live in, it is quite extraordinary

  • Debating with faithless people is totally pointless. Most people of faith have little clue as to what scripture says etc, so how would you expect to get anything out of a debate with a person who is not of faith? The reason theologians and ministers get away with their heretical lies is because they can be 99.9% certain the people they are preaching to don't know any better. Go to a Church anywhere, you can count on one hand how many read the Bible and understand it.

  • "Yet today, Muslims are characterised as the compulsive mujahdeens that are seen on tv."

And you blame Islamic religions for this? I'd say the media plays a much larger role in how muslims are conceived.

  • "but thank you for showing everybody what a hypocrite you are."

It's statements like this that make communication between religions so difficult. For you calling someone a hypocrite might be a normal way to put some emphasis on your comments, but in most islamic factions (note, i don't use the term 'Islam' because no such thing exists)hypocrisy has a theological meaning and is a grave insult. We should be more educated of each others religions so misunderstandings like these can be avoided.

  • you now waht i have no religion but i believe there is something after this life. i also find that life is a lot simpler without the pruessure of confiorming to certain faiths and beliefs

  • To martingrannholem:

Muslims (at least true Muslims) believe in the virgin birth of Jesus, (read the Maryam sura I think). I find it absolutely ridiculous that Muslims memorize the Qu'ran in its entirety yet fail to live by the codes of conduct in it, i.e. "Let there be no compulsion in religion, let the Truth stand clear from error." Yet today, Muslims are characterised as the compulsive mujahdeens that are seen on tv. I'm Catholic by the way. Go home and learn about your own religion.

  • What do you hope to achieve here anyways? Internet warrior. Whatever your frustrations and shortcomings, don't live it out in a comment section for a youtube video about a chant. "Go get laid."

  • Hahahahhahahahha, way to go too you too internet warrior,go get laid your self, sexually frustated 21 year old

  • I can't believe you even bothered to find out how old I am and replied so soon after my comment. That's just incredible. You really do have nothing else to do with your time.

  • Calm yourself my dear friend. This is very disturbing to me to hear that you think I'm a hypocrite. Oh my you seem to think that I said that your praised are not liked in this area of the internet well if you haven't heard muslims and catholics don't get along but i will try to live with you even though we are different My god will help me forgive you while yours damns you to hell unless you destroy all those who oppose him. I hope you indeed come to rest in peace. I will stop now.

  • thers only ONE TRUTH

but we human beings cant judge and make war on others

for me JESUS son of GOD words (gospels) are totally TRUTH

    read it before talk

  • "Quis et Deus" - "Who is like unto God" - Sancte Michael Our Archangel Protector Amen!

  • oh dear martingrannholmen you need to be more positive and less negative about what you say to others who worship a different god. Or you might find you have a lot of enemies for they will find you young one. Oh and please we like to have a pure place to listen to music as you do so please don't say those muslim praises here. (thank you)

  • That was very scary. You say that I need to be more positive about religion, others religion, but you claim that muslim praises are unpure and not deemed worthy to be heard here! Omfg! I think christian praises are just as pure/unpure as:"Allah Akhbar!" Okay??? Double standards by the followers of christ is not new to me, but thank you for showing everybody what a hypocrite you are.

  • In nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti. Amen.

    I respect you-please, respect me.

  • Martingrannholmen, you chose a comment that you knew would be offensive and cause a negative reaction. Then you posted it to then see if people would mark your comment as spam. This shows me you knew that people would be offended; offending people on purpose is disrespect. Telling people to stop practicing their religion is also disrespectful.

  • Well I think it disrespectful, that you Think I 'm going to hell just because I aint baptised and so on. I'm 16 by the way, and I find it disresepectful that my mothers hard earned wages, shall be spent on people who think virgin birth is possible. You dont agree?

  • I personally did not say you were going to hell. I personally do not believe in hell. The way I see it is, god gave many possible ways to find him. I think all religions are right and I also think that you don't have to follow any religion to find god. I just can't see god as being soo narrow minded to exclude certain people from him. As for the bible it's two thousand year old stories, they were used as a teaching tools like other ancient tales from all cultures.

  • urtalkingcrapagain,

Wow, assumptions on my character and my beliefs, how very religious of you. lol

As I see from this and some of your other comments your not open to discussion of alternate views of faith.

Continue clinging to your beliefs, I do sincerely wish it gives you everything you hope for.

  • Wrong, I mearly pointed out facts. I make no assumptions about your character, or your beliefs. You did state that you do not believe in Hell, and I pointed out that is correct. "Hell" and the concept of it is a pagan hoax perpetuated by religious heretics of all faiths and denominations.

There is only one way to God the Father, through Christ, fact. Clearly your understanding of scripture is very limited if you believe the nonsense that there are many ways to God.

  • hell, damnation, whatever you call it there is no debating that while god is the pure light and goodness of the world, there has to be an opposing force against it the devil and hell stand for those who do not seek the light in life.

  • there is a hell, a second death a burning lake of fire

  • Most of the people who go to Hell are the ones who believed that there was no hell so do be careful in sharing what you hope to believe with others. Hell exists and unfortunately many people are going there because they refuse God's ways!

  • > Hell exists and unfortunately many people are going there because they refuse God's ways!

I came here to listen to music, not get a lecture about an invisible bogeyman.

  • As for the hard earned wages, I pay for my right to believe what I want. As do all people around the world. As much as I get annoyed with people who won't be open-minded; I will never pretend I'm better then them and say they aren't allowed to be that. I don't agree that any one religion is more right then any other, that is just plain pride and ego to think that way. To say we know what god wants is also very ego driven for how could a small mortal being understand the divine infinity...

  • Yes, God IS Great. I see we're in agreement on that particular topic.

  • * Daniel 12:1-3 * the invincible warrior SHALL arise according to the prophetic timetable of The Lord Jesus Christ. nothing can stop it. nothing can stop him. - mE chI eL: the invincible warrior.

  • Michael has always been, by decree & creation of THE LORD YESHUA and THE FATHER, the invicible warrior who executes judgement and vengeance upon satan and evil. *Psalm 110:1-7* Michael is never to be worshipped, only honored. THE LORD GOD YESHUA BY THE FATHER IN HIM is to be worshipped AND HE ALONE. All glory to The Lamb.

  • st.michael fought satan and won

  • Oh come on... Please respect other religions. This song wont kill ya!

  • that's not helping, what ever your name is.
