@marticeltractor I was very sad when John died. I still can't understand why they didn't find a better replacement than Pino. The OX is irreplacable. PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's really disapointing when you're expecting an Entwistle Bass solo and he's not there... But this guys obv n accomplished player because he had the riff down to a Tee!
Did The Who ever change singers? Because this sounds nothing like original and "Who are you"/"Won't get fooled again" sounds nothing like earlie singing..
Nooooooo...Roger Daltrey has just got older. He also has bronchitis, which has affected his voice. Won't Get Fooled Again was recorded in '71, while Who Are You? was recorded in ' 78. This is 2006. So we are looking at 35 and 28 year gaps. The only people they've replaced are the dead ones, Keith Moon and John "The Ox" Entwistle".
No. Same singer, same guitarist. The bassist and drummer are sadly dead. It sounds different because A) its live and B) they're just a little bit older.
back in the days it was the hardest, rudest and best song ever ! but it doesn`t works today, when a bunch of "old" men sings it,and not only that: roger sings verybad,i think, and without john you can forget it
I think Pino does the best that he can do. I dont think he came in to be the Ox..who is someone that no body could fill his shoes . Pino plays his same style and I like that.
man pino palladino and zak starkey kick ass i saw them 3 days ago and i wish i could see them again they are crazy good haha the edge yea he was probably like that guy is so cool i wanna be just like him meanwhile the edge is like im gonna do the windmill and play a red strat pete is so awesome
Was pointed here by a Who mailing group Oddsandsodds and told to watch Pete's jump at the start, pretty amazing at 60, good share, cheers ;)

Pino is a great player, but he should have used steel strings, these sound kinda like flatwounds, although I'm not sure....

Good bass solo's.. Just not the same as the ox.

WHERE was this and why didnt I hear from this?? =(
Blothus 1 year ago
I think the bass solo was just turned to Palladino's style. He's a musician, not a tribute band member.

@dersh65 so if the OX is irreplacable there wouldn't be a "better replacement" at all would it?

Roger has always been the lead singer of the Who....Can't Explain was recorded in 1965.
dersh65 1 year ago
I know that, but it was recorded november 64, so i guess i'm right.

"that bass was weak "
Compared to what?
EuchridEucrow1 3 years ago
im guessing compared to the ox. i think the bass was good, but not nearly what it would've been if it were the ox. no offense to pino
Anticrombie918 2 years ago
Compared to Entwistle. Pino can never compare to The Ox, nor can ANY other bassist.

"but it doesn`t works today, when a bunch of "old" men sings it,"
I'm guessing by your grammar and spelling that you're still hovering around the age of 12.
Once you get into your teens you might come to understand it a little better.

there is only one word wrong,..that can happen :-) by the way: i`m much older than 12,but sorry i am not that in the english language.
