@LemonZeppelin Take it back! Personally this and the other bonus track the ruiner are better than the album. A lot of people have written off this album off due to the new sound Mastodon have explored. This i think is a little unfair. That said, most listeners who like this album will say people who have liked previous albums of Mastodons but not this one arent true Mastodon fans. This isn't fair either. I prefer previous albums to this but can appreciate the musical genius in the Hunter too.

Crack the Skye is probably my favourite Mastodon Album, I'm a sucker for progressive stuff, but... well, Mastodon have changed massively in their career, and it whatever they've done, they've done damn well. So whatever The Hunter ends up sounding like, I trust Mastodon to make it brilliant.

Don't get me wrong, i digged Crack The Skye alot, but i prefer Remission, Leviathan and Blood mountain. And this sounds like a mixture of the 3 (mostly Remission). Absolutely everyone loves Crack the skye and for good reason! but, how awesome is it gonna be if they come back with some heavy shit again. Since the release of CTS their live set has been pretty much jam CTS then do a couple of old heavy songs at the end (same as live at the aragon) which is awesome, but if they do some heavy stuff again (or even half heavy half prog) they'll prob go back to doin a pretty heavy set, then end on the prog stuff... to me that'll be Mastodon Perfection!

This song isn't from their new album, they recorded it for crack the skye, but it didn't get put on the CD. They actually recorded a bunch of heavy stuff that they were gonna release on an EP but never got around to it and supposedly re-wrote the songs for the hunter.
