Let's just get one thing straight: GG Allin will always be great for the work he did between 1979 and 1986, and he will always be hated for everything he did after that.
This is different than most Punk music of that era, it's almost hyper-melodic like Magazine's "Real Life" - it's designed to get your blood pumping. I miss GG Allin!
@MustafaCemal perhaps you can be more specific on this 'quality' that you talk about. If anything it lacks quality, but in a way that is what makes it unique.
@KoivuTheHab Where do his songs (the major part that is) lack quality? As I wrote before, listen to the base in this one. You will find the baseman does far more than just play unisono with the guitar. The drummer and he are in time with each other. The quality of the recording is... OK. AND GG sings quite appealing. However, no lacking of quality in any respect. Plus the lacking of quality does not always make a song unique. There is a lot of crap out there...
@MustafaCemal I'm not with you on this, GG Allin, Quality and Talent, do not go in the same sentance. Just because someone on this particular recording knows how to play an instrument doesn't make it quality. I need not tell you where the lack of quality is as I am sure you know GG Allin's music quite well and we all know this album was pretty much the only one that made any sense. Rest In Piss GG!
I would rather say that quality and talent does not necessarily NEED to correlate. Talented songwriters/ musicians CAN produce good music (in the most extended sense), but they don't inevitably HAVE TO (Listen to Nickelback- professional musicians, but they sound unispired and I would consider their music to be of less quality than GG's stuff.). Also the term "talent" is far to vague for musical talent can show in so many ways besides knowing how to play a chord etc.
gg allin and the jabbers always was and always will be. its really good , more decent tunes than that older shit he played . other songs u can utube from this album is (ass face) (bored to death) (DONT TALK TO ME) and automatic. its a great album
I love that bass line. This is fucking great Punk Rock music. I love his later more insane shit too, it's just a shame so few people know this side of him. Know he was a really talented drummer and played some Bass and Guitar as well. Most people think he was some mindless Junkie rolling in his shit. Which just wasn't the case. #1 G.G. was never addicted to smack, shot up, but wasn't addicted. I think maybe Prison pushed him over the edge mentaly.
@scumgod13 I know your comment is a year old, but I feel I just have to reply. Prison does fuck people up mentally. That's the problem with this damn country (USA), we just use prison as a way to punish people. Almost everyother modernized country uses it as a way to help, and heal people. I wouldn't doubt prison is what fucked GG up. I know someone was in jail just for a week or two, and he got really messed up mentally.
his brother dosed him. watch hated video it explains it.

Listen to the fucking BASE!
How can anybody complain about GG's music being "too simple" or say that it is crap??
MustafaCemal 2 years ago
@MustafaCemal You claim his music is complex? It's simple straight forward punk, awesome!
KoivuTheHab 2 years ago
@KoivuTheHab Of course it is. But I did not call his music "complex", I just referred to the folks making remarks about the quality of his songs.
And the point is that a range of his songs possess a certain quality that many other (punk) bands fail to achieve.
