This video is a huge lie !!! it is a polish city Lwów. It has never been 'ukrainian'. The city was founded by a polish king Kazimierz Wielki near the old ruthenian wooden fortress lvov. The polish king took over this land according the law and gave the new city the name of the nearest ruthenian fortress. The city is on polish land of Ledzianie. The name of this land is Ziemia Czerwieńska !!!

This area was mentioned for the first time in 981, when Vladimir the Great, Rus Grand Prince, occupied it during his western campaign. In 1018, it was retook by Poland, in 1031 annexed to Rus. It came under Polish control in 1340, when Casimir III of Poland recovered it.

Leżące na Ziemi Czerwieńskiej miasto Lwów zostało lokowane przez Kazimierza Wielkiego niedaleko starego i spalonego grodu Lwów założonego przez Rusina. Somebody controlling Krakow for a 150 years is nothing while over 400 years of Polish rule out of 750 years of the cities existance is a lot more significant! So there's a valid argument that many people feel it's still very polish. Plus it was stolen by the USSR after WWII anyway!

yeah but it was stolen from Austria-Hungary after WW1 by Poland. The Austrians and Hungarians don't claim this city to be 'theirs' because they are not insecure about their nationality and are comfortable with the fact that they are not empires.

And yes Poles do have a problem with nationality - the vast majority of posts on here by your fellow polacks are very radical or extreme.

Lviv is a Ukrainian city - the polish monuments there act as reminders of past eras of foreign control and of the oppression of Lviv's native language, culture, literature, art, music, etc.

They also serve to remind us that we cannot trust poland.

Of course when I say about austrian influence I am reffering to austrian architects and/or foundators of the buildings,not to the neo-classical and eclectic styles of architecture.Buildings of these styles were designed all over Europe and by architects from many countries ,definitely not only from Austria.From what I know austrian really had a major impact on Chernovsty/Cernauti when this part of Romania was under austrian rule.

do you know why austrian are not interested in Lwów?Because they don't have borders with you.

Hungarians are more focused on Slovakia.

By the way if you really want to find austrian influence in architecture go to Prauge or even more to Budapest.

Nobody denies town was founded by Rusyns,but this town(which was mainly wooden town) does not exist today.Even the high castle was destroyed by Tatars in 13th century.

Expulsion of Poles from Lwów we can compared to the theoretical expulsion of the English people from London.Even before the Romans came, London himself was a Celtic town.

I'm finishing these stupid arguments. For your information Lviv was found by Prince Danylo Halitski of Galicia. Who was Ukrainian not Polish. Yeah polish people took over for a little bit. BUT!!! It was found by ukrainians and at the end it is still in Ukraine. GET OVER IT!!!
