The "Jimmy" character is based on Sir Jimmy Saville who was a DJ on radio one in the seventies. He was also a presenter of Top of the Pops,which was a music show that featured bands that were in the charts at the time. One of the bands was called... Showaddywaddy and that's how Sir Jimmy would announce them. Hope I've cleared it up for everyone :)
