This is not only amazing but inspiring! I'm a white girl, play sports, goes to church, and lives in a small town. I look like a typical

"white girl" high school student, if you saw me, spoken word poetry or rapping would be the last thing you see. But seeing a white like me speaking a hidden talent just like me, is truly inspiring and gives me confidence and reminds me that there is no color when it comes to lifes struggles. Thank you(:

@arandea its funny that you ask that-- spoken word poetry is very rarely presented in printed format because it is by definition a spoken and performed craft. a spoken word piece belongs with a poet and their performance, not on a page.

@Tangerines13 Of course I never intended to teach the poem just "on the page". But it's English studies - you need to be able to support the performance video with close analysis of the words - for tone AND literary techniques. Most teenagers have trouble just following it in one format. My request could have been seen as flattery - but apparently not.
