In closing, he is a fallen angel that rebelled against God, and when lucifer was cast out of heaven, he took One Third of all the angels with him. Demons are none other than fallen angels. Some of the angels are kept in prison cells in hell until the day of judgment.
@ChildoftheKing23 actually the bible does not detail the origin of demons. the fallen angel guess is a possibility, but you simply cannot be dogmatic about it. but i would say that there is more evidence against rather than for demons being fallen angels. Both Peter and Jude state that the angels that sinned are already bound in hell reserved for judgment. a more likely theory and one the early church held to is that demons are the disembodied spirits of the offspring of fallen angels and women

@ChildoftheKing23 No...it really doesn't. Revelation states the dragon swept a third of the stars to earth. The stars are generally accepted as representing angels. However, there is nothing in scripture to link fallen angels to demons. That is an assumption with no basis. Furthermore, Jude 6&7 seems to say pretty clearly that fallen angels indulged in gross immorality, going after "strange flesh"and are now kept in chains awating judgment (Jude 6, 2 Pet 2:4).

It is commonly believed that the sons of men is referring to godly offspring, who had sexual relations with the ungodly offspring. However, one cannot really get to dogmatic on this subject. I am sure that we can both conclude that lucifer did not create them. He does not have that power.
Jesus Christ Himself stated that He seen satan fall from heaven. Jesus Christ cast out demons many times, spoke directly to them, cast them into a herd of pigs at the demons request. Furthermore, the Word of God specifically states that satan is real, and is doing whatever he can to keep people from coming to God. It is a battle between God & satan, and the Body of Christ will one day be with Christ, when satan is cast into the lake of fire alive...The book of Revelation speaks clearly on this.

Portions of this text and Ezekiel 28 are interpreted by some to have a deeper significance to the origin of Satan. Over the years the title Lucifer has "evolved" as the name of Satan prior to his fall and corruption, but essentially they are all the same being.

The Bible makes refernce to Lucifer in Isaiah but few actually read the entire chapter to discover that it was actually speaking of the current king of Babylon (Tyre) at the time. God did create Lucifer. God did give Lucifer the freedom of choice. God did have foreknowledge of Lucifer's fall. I believe God knows all sin that was ever and is ever to be committed. Does that make God responsible? Not in the least bit. How can God possibly be accused for our decisions? You say, "Because He FOREKNEW and because He does nothing."
But do not count God's mercy as idleness. We live in a season of grace. God is withholding His judgment until an appointed time.
Again, He is withholding judgment so that some may repent of their evil and turn back to Him. However, the wrath of God is coming and will utterly crush sin and those who love it. Then is He unjust in His allowance of the sickness, suffering and death resulting from our sin? Not at all, for He is also able to heal, restore and give life. Our present suffering are not worthy to be compared to the glory He will reveal to those who believe.
What is the conclusion? We have sinned of our own free will. We have rebelled against God and have rightfully incurred His judgment. However, in his mercy He has allowed a period for us to repent, while others in their sin store up wrath for themselves.

Lucifer, Satan and the devil are simply three titles for the same being. He is also known as the serpent, the dragon, etc... many titles for him in the Bible. In the final book of the Bible, Revelation, the text is clear that Satan will be thrown into the lake of fire for all eternity. He will not be reconciled to God, but will be condemned.

@jatamode I have changed my attitude and now declare Jesus as my savior, I was wrong and had things backwards. I was confused and in a bad rutt in my life and did the wrong thing. Jesus is the answer and good will prevail always. Never again will I say such things, I am very ashamed at myself for even considering the notion. @zipfreer That's an interesting thought. It reminds me of Rev. 19:19. I cannot believe the armies of the earth would gather together to fight the return of Christ. No one in their right mind would knowingly fight God. They'd have to believe they're there to fight something else; perhaps aliens? How else would you explain a rapture to the public? Satan is the god of truth. He created humanity. He is the pagan god Enki. He stands for freedom and spiritual empowerment for mankind.
He is actually very kind and loving and wishes to help humanity in whatever way possible. The church and elites want to keep us from the truth because he stands for power in the hands of the common people, freedom of thought, and true ethics. Animals and children are sacred to him, as well as the earth and environment. He is a wonderful god, not a monster.

I will be more than glad to elaborate on this, if anyone wishes to know more about what the bible says about lucifer. In closing, he is a fallen angel that rebelled against God, and when lucifer was cast out of heaven, he took One Third of all the angels with him. Demons are none other than fallen angels. Some of the angels are kept in prison cells in hell until the day of judgment.

@ChildoftheKing23 actually the bible does not detail the origin of demons. the fallen angel guess is a possibility, but you simply cannot be dogmatic about it. but i would say that there is more evidence against rather than for demons being fallen angels. Both Peter and Jude state that the angels that sinned are already bound in hell reserved for judgment. a more likely theory and one the early church held to is that demons are the disembodied spirits of the offspring of fallen angels and women

Furthermore, The scripture regarding the "sons of men" in Genesis does not give one authority to say that angels had sexual relations with women. It is believed that the sons of men were godly offspring who became infatuated with the ungodly, and as a result, they were unequally yoked. If the angels are not demons, than that would lend credibility that lucifer created them, and we both know the answer to that one.

@ChildoftheKing23 No...it really doesn't. Revelation states the dragon swept a third of the stars to earth. The stars are generally accepted as representing angels. However, there is nothing in scripture to link fallen angels to demons. That is an assumption with no basis. Furthermore, Jude 6&7 seems to say pretty clearly that fallen angels indulged in gross immorality, going after "strange flesh"and are now kept in chains awating judgment (Jude 6, 2 Pet 2:4).

Not everyone agrees. No one can absolutely prove their position. It is not a soteriological issue and so, like you, I don't think this topic is worth splitting hair over.
My only point was a reminder/caution to be certain when stating the bible says this or that and to not present theories as doctrine.

It is commonly believed that the sons of men is referring to godly offspring, who had sexual relations with the ungodly offspring. However, one cannot really get to dogmatic on this subject. I am sure that we can both conclude that lucifer did not create them. He does not have that power.

Jesus Christ Himself stated that He seen satan fall from heaven. Jesus Christ cast out demons many times, spoke directly to them, cast them into a herd of pigs at the demons request. Furthermore, the Word of God specifically states that satan is real, and is doing whatever he can to keep people from coming to God. It is a battle between God & satan, and the Body of Christ will one day be with Christ, when satan is cast into the lake of fire alive...The book of Revelation speaks clearly on this.

@KingestKon0780 To sum it up briefly Satan is the devil. He currently walks the earth as you say. Lucifer is not actually a name. It is a title from Isaiah 14 meaning "bearer of light". Portions of this text and Ezekiel 28 are interpreted by some to have a deeper significance to the origin of Satan. Over the years the title Lucifer has "evolved" as the name of Satan prior to his fall and corruption, but essentially they are all the same being.

Lucifer/Satan is portrayed as evil because that is what he became when he fell. None of God's creation were created to be worshipped... God alone is to be worshipped by His creation.
The image of the dragon is taken from the book of Revelation. It is one of the biblical portrayals of Satan.

As far as other satanic symbols, I'm sure there is much information not contained within the bible that can be found outside of it; however, IMO there is also no basis for knowing what true outside the bible.
As far the debates over the bible itself (much bigger discussion), I can say that I am confident that the texts we have are reliable.

@TamaraAndTheDemon Great point! The bible does NOT give answer on the origin of demons far as I know. There have been speculative guesses and beliefs according to tradition, but I don't think any of them can be proven from the bible.
I assume by church you mean that Christianity is man-made... and I might agree that some of what passes for Christianity today is little more than institutionalism. However, for those who've been reconciled to God through Jesus Christ, Christianity is very real.

@jatamode I have to agree with urban here. The dragon is identified by John as Satan twice in the book of Revelation.
See Rev. 12:9 and Rev. 20:12.

Who the fuck came up with all this ? John - in Revelations ? And who told him ? God ? If someone today came out and told this story they`d be locked up in an assylum. And rightly so !
All preachers who preach this only do so because they`ve been told it`s true. How the fuck do they know it`s true ? They dont know. They take their suppositions and haunt the world with them. Have done so for centuries. And the haunting is very real.

this is coming from me my own views. i say that its happening now as we speak. the end of the world. i believe that we are facing the end of days. look at whats happened to this world. bible stated there will be a great war on earth and right now we are in a war, the twins towers being struck. i believe that Lucifer/Satan is now here with us and we are close to the end. i believe Satan has already sent his Anti-Christ to us. only time will tell when it will happen

@TheNeedForRepentance- Have you, sir, considered that you may be in error yourself? The Bible makes refernce to Lucifer in Isaiah but few actually read the entire chapter to discover that it was actually speaking of the current king of Babylon (Tyre) at the time. This is not a reference to an angelic being of any type. It is actually more a representation of the state of fallen man.

God did create Lucifer. God did give Lucifer the freedom of choice. God did have foreknowledge of Lucifer's fall. I believe God knows all sin that was ever and is ever to be committed. Does that make God responsible? Not in the least bit. How can God possibly be accused for our decisions? You say, "Because He FOREKNEW and because He does nothing."
But do not count God's mercy as idleness. We live in a season of grace. God is withholding His judgment until an appointed time.

Again, He is withholding judgment so that some may repent of their evil and turn back to Him. However, the wrath of God is coming and will utterly crush sin and those who love it. Then is He unjust in His allowance of the sickness, suffering and death resulting from our sin? Not at all, for He is also able to heal, restore and give life. Our present suffering are not worthy to be compared to the glory He will reveal to those who believe.

What is the conclusion? We have sinned of our own free will. We have rebelled against God and have rightfully incurred His judgment. However, in his mercy He has allowed a period for us to repent, while others in their sin store up wrath for themselves.

What we have rightfully earned is an explanation from god as to why he ignores us, why we have to play this game that ends with our souls being rewarded or punished, why he has nothing to lose in that game but a few toys, while for being the fleshy beings we were CREATED to be, we will suffer for all eternity.

Rather than answer here, I'll send a PM of what I've come to find. I wouldn't be able to adequately respond with the character limit. Let me say, I SEE THE EXACT ISSUES YOU'RE RAISING. I think the differences in the conclusions we draw are matters of perspective.

@urbansamurai79 So that some may repent from their evil ways....Had god not decided to play the "free will" game, and put a tree in the garden we can't touch, there would be no "evil" to repent of. Had god not ALLOWED a superior being trick us into disobeying, or at least warned us about him, there would be no "evil". Had god not decided to ALLOW sin to be passed to ALL MANKIND through Original Sin, or simply started over after the first 2 people failed,.....If only.

@urbansamurai79 Interesting point, on the part where you mention "so that some may repent of their evil and turn back to Him." made me wonder, "If He created Lucifer and all this happened, wouldn't he give him a chance to turn back as well?" I realize the Bible states that God gave him a chance to repent and admit he was wrong and his pride got in the way, but what if the reason Lucifer wasn't just destroyed then is because he "foreknows" that Lucifer will repent? btw pure speculation here.

@metalmonkey88 It's a good question and there are probably a 1000 answers out there. My answer will be from a Christian/Bible-based standpoint. Lucifer, Satan and the devil are simply three titles for the same being. He is also known as the serpent, the dragon, etc... many titles for him in the Bible. In the final book of the Bible, Revelation, the text is clear that Satan will be thrown into the lake of fire for all eternity. He will not be reconciled to God, but will be condemned.

Since god didn't destroy satan, and kindly put him on earth here with us....satan has destroyed, corrupted, molested, murdered, and raped more souls than jesus has saved. God's mercy and unwillingness, or inability to act, is no more than a game with our souls on the line. We were created for his pleasure. So instead of eliminating satan, the most cunning angel, he ALLOWS all his children to be stolen from him one at a time...Mercy huh?
