You know, there really always WAS such a thing as "MGM humor'......this is it.

Perhaps the single worst thing that could be said about those Chuck Jones & Gene Deitch cartoons done for the studio in the 60s, is that they AREN'T MGM humor.

This mug shot of Barney on 0:08 was only used in this cartoon. A new one was used in later cartoons I can see why: this one scares the shit out of me. It always has. It kinda reminds me of the beginning of a Disney's Humphrey Bear cartoon in which the opening begins with a mug of his face with no words in frame. That's how most of the Disney shorts opened their cartoons with other characters, but with Hunphrey (and this Barney one), it's just not meant to be.
