Brother Mahboop. you are missing the whole point what the Sayed Mahdi is say if that the hadeeth narrated is a faluse hadeeth, a fabrication or a weak at best. And the other brother that say we are not copying the Jews cus we fast on the 9th and 10th when Jews fast on the 10th or whatever like missing it by one day is such a great difference. This guy also misses the point that its the Prophet's grandson death by the hands of other supposedMuslims, worst yet the issue is still being uncommemora.
This is just a rumour or a false statement that you have been told. There is no authentic proof for this. Why dont u accept the authentic statements in several books that prove the fasting was an act of our prophet Muhammad PBUH? Why follow a false hate-spreading rumour? We muslims fast in order to emulate and follow our prophets (pbuh) Sunnah (which means his way). Not to celebrate astaghfirullah. The people who are happy with Husseins (RA) death are not muslims. We all love Ahlul bayt (AS).
The man who killed Hussein (RA) was actually one of the traitors of Kufa. This is recorded in your books as well as ours. His name was Shimr bin Thil-Jawshan and joined Yazids men although he was from the Shia'at of Kufa. “I say, Shimr was in the forces of Ameer al-Mu’mineen on the Day of Siffin.” (Al-Qummi, “Safinatun-Najaat”, vol.4, p. 492, Chapter Sheen Followed by Meem). That is by AlQummi, a famous classical Shia scholar. NO fasting was 'ordered' to celebrate the great Hussain's (RA) death.
We know he is worthy of being the khalifa, but he gave it over because he did not trust the people that pledged allegiance to him. This is not a topic to discuss here anyway. As for the people who killed Hussein (RA), the people of Kufa betrayed Hussein (RA) who they pledged allegiance to and did not intervene. IT was the people who sent him the letters from Kufa who betrayed him and did not stand up againt injustice to protect him.
He says: “By Allah, I handed over power to him for no reason other than the fact that I could not find any supporters. Had I found supporters I would have fought him day and night until Allah decides between us. But I know the people of Kufa. I have experience of them. The bad ones of them are no good to me. They have no loyalty, nor any integrity in word or deed. They are in disagreement. They claim that their hearts are with us, but their swords are drawn against us.” [Al-Kafi, vol. 8 p. 288]
Firstly the people who overthrew Hassan RA were not 'Sunnis'. This is in agreement with Shia and Sunni scholars. Hassan (RA) gave the khilaafa to Mu'awiyah after 6 months of being the khalifa.Hassan (RA) says (in your own books): “By Allah, I think Muawiyyah would be better for me than these people who claim that they are my Shia.” [Abû Mansûr at-Tabarsî, al-Ihtijâj vol. 2 p. 290-291 , Mu’assasat al-A‘lamî, Beirut 1989]
As for fasting the 3rd day of Muharram because of the release of Yusuf (AS), I have never heard of this in my life. Please send me some authentic reliable evidence that proves that fasting on the 3rd of Muharram for that reason was an action of our Prophet Muhammad PBUH and I will also fast this day...
It is the month the Quran came down in and it is the month we fast. But you have contradicted yourself in your own statement. If you think fasting is a form of celebrating, why weren't we commanded to fast on Eid? We don't 'celebrate' every time we have iftaar, we are grateful for the food. The main 'feast' is on the day of Eid, after fasting the whole month...not every night. We fast purely because our PROPHET (pbuh) did so, Allah knows our intentions and we will be judged according to them.
While shia now see, ashoora a period of time to show respect and honor towards Ali (as). when Mohammed(saw) show his respect and the relationship we have to OUR PROPHET Mosa(as)- you call it imitation of Jews. But when a group of muslims do ashoora to respect ali(as)- you call it rightfulness? MUHARRAM the MONTH OF ALLAH! All the days of it is GREATFUL TO FAST! ignorance is a bliss!
@Longfunlife i have one thing to say to you, and that is get your facts right please! honour the death of imam HUSSAIN! you don't even know who died in ashura by the looks of it. Anyway this video was not here to start a conflict but help educate people about what happened many years ago where none of us here were there back then, to make sure you check your sources properly. Thank you :)
@marwitta actually this video doesnt tell us anything about what happend may years ago. it simply tells u an explanation that u didnt have to live among those days to come up with it.
@Longfunlife Dear, the moral is that if God would of recommended fasting on "ashura" (which btw has two meanings according to arabic language scholar) then he would of simply sent a message through the angel jibriel would he not?
Ali (as)died by 1 criminal, it shldnt be pointed towards anyone. Regardless of that, who the hell are you to question Mohammed (saw) way of doing things! God said "Is there any reward for good other than good"? Muhammad (saw) wanted to show that we respect and are closer to MOSA (as), so he sought to fast the 9th and 10th. This was long ago before what the shia follow ashoora for the death of Ali (as). Everyone followed the sunnah of muhammed(saw) in fasting!
@usman606060 This man is a sayyed, he comes from a famous scholarly family that descends from the Prophet, Sunnis overthrew Hassan during his six month caliphate by supporting Mauwiyah's insurgence in Syria, and subsequently supported Yazid's caliphate. That's why he says that.
And last but not least, fasting if you have not realised my dear muslim is not a form of celebration in Islam. Did you not notice that after Ramadan comes the day of .... EID, the day of celebration for muslims! Which out of Allahs mercy, after a month of fasting, allows us to eat and be joyful...Muhammad (pbuh) own family, Ahlul Bayt (AS) would fast this day aswell, because they were so careful to follow everything our Prophet Muhammad pbuh did out of their love to him.
@jihadkader is ramadan not a holy month in which the quran came down in? is it not the month we fast? should the day/month in which the quran came down on b something we deplore or celebrate? after we break our fast do we not "celebrate" with a nice big feast. Eating feasts is not only a form of celebration for muslims after fasting but for christians and jews too.
@jihadkader Also, the third day of muharam is the day in which nabi yousef was freed from prison and so we fast on this day, why do you think? because we are unhappy? or to celebrate his freedom.
The Prophet (pbuh) said to a man,'If you want to fast a month after Ramadan, then fast Muharram, for it has a day in which Allah forgave an entire people, and He turns to others in repentance in.' [Tirmidhi (841]
Abu Qatada (RA) relates that the Prophet(PBUH) said that the fast on the 10th of Muharram atones for the sins of the preceding year. [Sahih Muslim]
Abu Huraira (RA) reports that the Prophet (PBUH) said that after Ramadan, the fasts of Muharram have the greatest excellence. [Sahih Muslim]
Ibn Abbas (RA) that the Prophet( PBUH) said,'Fast the Day of `Ashura and be different from the Jews by fasting a day before it or a day after it.' [Musnad Imam Ahmad] )
Ibn Abbas (RA) said that he was asked about fasting the Day of `Ashura...He said, 'I did not see the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) fast a day while more avid to seek its virtue than this day' (meaning the Day of `Ashura) [Bukhari (2006), and Muslim (1132)]
Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Abbaas (RA) said: When the Messenger of Allaah (PBUH) fasted on the day of ‘Ashoora and told the people to fast, they said, “O Messenger of Allaah, this is a day that is venerated by the Jews and Christians.” The Messenger of Allaah (PBUH) said, “Next year, if Allaah wills, we will fast on the ninth day.” But by the time the following year came, the Messenger of Allaah (PBUH) had passed away. (Muslim, 1916.)
In another report it is mentioned that Jews of Madinah used to hold a feast on this day. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) told his Companions to fast instead. (Al-Bukhari, hadith 1866)
(continuation of hadith regarding the jews in madinah) The Prophet (pbuh) said, “We have more claim/right to Musa than you.” He fasted on that day and commanded Muslims to fast on this day. (Al-Bukhari, 1865)
After the hijrah when the Prophet (pbuh) came to Madinah, he found that the Jews of Madinah also used to observe this day with fasting. The Prophet (pbuh) asked them the reason of their fasting on this day. They said, “This is a blessed day. On this day Allah saved the Children of Israel from their enemy (in Egypt) and so Prophet Musa fasted on this day giving thanks to Allah.”
As for the event with the Jews, Madrasi added a few of his own point to what the hadith actually said. The jews only said that this is the day Allah saved Musa from their enemy (Pharoah). Anyways below are all the ahaadith regarding fasting this day for anyone who still doesn’t believe that it was a Sunnah of the prophet Muhammad PBUH.
). Ashura' fasting was obligatory (fard ) in the beginning to the muslims before the command of fasting Ramadan.. In the second year of hijrah (624 CE) when Allah’s command came that Muslims should fast the whole month of Ramadan, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) then sent someone to announce to people that fasting of `Ashura' had become voluntary (nafl). This indicates that whosoever wishes to fast, may fast and whosoever does not want to fast, there will be no blame on him/her.
"The tribe of Quraish used to fast on the day of 'Ashurah in the days before Islam, as did the Prophet. When he came to Madinah, he still fasted on it and ordered the people to do likewise. Then, when fasting during the month of Ramadan became obligatory, he said: 'Whoever wishes may fast ['Ashurah] and whoever wishes may leave it." (This is related by al-Bukhari and Muslim).
). It was a day on which people of Makkah used to change the covering (kiswah) of the Ka`bah. Quraysh also used to fast on this day. (Al-Bukhari, hadith 1489 and 1760) It is reported in the Sahih of Imam Al-Bukhari and other authentic collections of hadith that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and companions (ra) used to fast on the 10th day of Muharram while they were in Makkah (before the hijrah ie. before he migrating to Madinah
Fasting in the month of Muharram is recommended anyway:
Muslim reported from Abu Hurayra (RA), that the Prophet (PBUH) said: 'The best of fasts after the month of Ramadan are in the Month of Allah, which you call Muharram. And the best of prayer after the obligatory prayer is the night prayer.'[Muslim, 1163]. Now, as for Ashura, it is a very important day in the Islamic calendar. It had great significance to the Makkans even before the Prophet (pbuh) did Hijra (prophets migration to Madinah).
The four are the 1st, the 7th, the 11th and the 12th months of the Islâmic calendar.
Narrated from Abu Bakrah (RA) that the Prophet (PBUH) said: “The division of time has turned to its original form which was current the day Allaah created the heavens and earth. The year consists of twelve months of which four are sacred: three consecutive months, Dhu’l-Qa’dah, Dhu’l-Hijjah and Muharram, and Rajab of Mudar which comes between Jumada and Sha’baan.” [al-Bukhaari (3167), Muslim (1679)]
Now regarding the day of Ashura and the month of Muharram, this may be new to you and definately new to this man in the video, unless he is choosing to ignore this information. The day of Ashura falls in one of the 4 sacred months as mentioned in the Quran and also by Muhammad PBUH.
Verily, the number of months with Allâh is twelve months (in a year), so was it ordained by Allâh on the Day when He created the heavens and the earth; of them four are Sacred…QURAN 9:36
The people of Kufa were bribed and they betrayed the beloved grandson of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). So we do not say other than that which pleases Allah SWT; "Truly! To Allâh we belong and truly, to Him we shall return." (Quran 2:156)
Hussein (ra), we believe he was martyred in the land of Kerbalaa; may Allah curse his killers. We believe that he left his city out of his own ijtihaad because he was of the position and status to do so, even though his close friends advised him against it. They advised him against it not because of his decision, but because of the place he was leaving to and the people there. The same people he was heading to meet were the same people who had caused the martyrdom of his dad Imam Ali (ra).
Just to clarify what Ahlul Sunna wal-jamaa3a believe: We love Ahlul Bayt (as) and get closer to Allah SWT by our love for them. We believe that AlHassan (ra) and AlHussein (ra) are the chiefs/leaders of the youth of paradise, and we pray that Allah SWT joins us with them and his father and grandfather (pbuh) in paradise. Out of our love for Muhammad (pbuh) and his family we do as they would have done, so we fast on Ashura and the day before (or after), as this is what the Prophet (pbuh) advised.
Its amazing how he links the ones doing the fasting at the beginning of the video to the one celebrating on this day at the end!How he spreads hatred between the Sects is disgusting. For you information Madrasi, the ones who celebrate this day are a deviant sect known as the Nasibis (who are not even from Islam) who hate Ahlul Bayt (AS).Unfortunately on both sides of Sunnism and Shi'ism deviant sects like these are attributed to all the general Sunnis or Shiis to cause hatred between the 2 sects.
@jihadkader Fasting is done to celebrate a day, the people who killed Imam Hussein also fasted to celebrate his killing. Later, the state ordered the celebrating of the day of Ashura to destroy Hussein's memory. Makes perfect sense.
Sorry i can't refrain from commenting if a man is attacking the Sunnah of the prophet Muhammad PBUH. Firstly is shows again that this man is so narrow minded. No one in their right mind from Ahlul Sunnah will ever approve what happenend on the day of Ashura to Hussein (ra). Every scholar from Ahlul Sunnah Waljamaa3a has condemned what happened on that day, and even curse the killers of the prophets grandson and his other family that were with him (AS).
To be perfectly honest why are we muslims intent I'm creating divisions between ourselves? does it really matter which school of thought you follow? personally I don't agree with the views expressed within this video as it was specified that the muslims should fast on the 9th and 10th of muharram unlike the Jews who only fast on the 10th. another point is to ask ourselves who are we to question the prophet's (pbuh) teachings, methods and wisdom?
@theboast1 Salam brother, you're right that we shouldn't divide ourselfs and we should unit but understanding an important event in the history is vital. The day of Ashura is not like other days. It is the day when Imam Hussain was killed by (so called) Muslims. The question in the video about the narration not questioning the prophet's method. From where this narration (Hadeeth) came from? analysing it and comparing it with other narrations...etc. Regards
@mahboop Brother, to make something halaal haraam on the basis of Hussein (radhiallahu 3anhu) is actually kufr, Plus the Prophet Sallallahu 3alayhi wasallam recommended to fast on the 9th and 10th Muharram and not to single out the 10th muharram. So yet again the shia are mistaken in this regard. No doubt we ahlul sunnah condemn the killers of hussain (radhiallahu 3anhu) but to make this a focal point?? Doubt it being from the religion.
@marwitta Narrated by Aisha (ra): “The people used to fast on ‘Ashura (the tenth day of the month of Muharram) before the fasting of Ramadan was made obligatory. And on that day the Ka’ba used to be covered with a cover. When Allah made the fasting of the month of Ramadan compulsory, Allah’s Apostle said, “Whoever wishes to fast (on the day of ‘Ashura’) may do so; and whoever wishes to leave it can do so.[Bukhari Vol 02, Book 026, Hadith Number 662]
Abu Qatada al-Ansari (Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) was asked about his fasting… He was asked about fasting on the day of ‘Ashura (10th of Muharram), whereupon be said:It expiates the sins of the preceding year. [Muslim: Book 06: Hadith 2603]
Ibn e Abbas(ra)narrated: “When the Prophet came to Medina, he found (the Jews) fasting on the day of ‘Ashura’ (10th of Muharram). They used to say: “This is a great day on which Allah saved Moses and drowned the folk of Pharaoh. Moses observed the fast on this day, as a sign of gratitude to Allah.” The Prophet said, “I am closer to Moses than they.” So, he observed the fast (on that day) and ordered the Muslims to fast on it.[ Bukhari:Vol 4,Book 055, Hadith Number 609]
@Longfunlife unfortunately youtube won't let me paste a link here but youtube this title "Ammar Nakshawani - Fabricated Fasting of Ashura 1 - 3" and go watch all 3 parts
In the name of Allah: " WA MAA YANTEQO ANIL HAWA". Allah says in Quran that prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him) does not speak of his own, whatever he said and done were all came from Allah. and if you don't believe that then you don't believe in Quran which is words of Allah. Allah knows best.
@DawarAhmad welcome brother. We're not questioning the words of the prophet. we know that whatever he said is coming from Allah. The question is about the narration. Was it really what the prophet said or did?? if it doesn't make sense then we have to do research about the narration. Regards

@mahboop It has became that everything that is narrated of what Mohammed (saw) is questioned. And is questioned by loopholes not even explanation. muhammed(saw) also spoke that there will come people that will follow the quran and question/not follow the Sunnah/hadith! Ibn Abbas, radiAllahu 'anhu, said: “I never saw Allah's Messenger, so keen to fast any day and give it priority over any other than this day, the day of ‘Aashooraa’, and this month, meaning Ramadaan.” Bukhari.
MashAllah! This is enlightening...and i'd wish the rest of the world would think like this... i'm on about the man on the screen...not the bullshit below me!
YOU WANT CONDEMNATION FROM SUNNI DONT HOLD YOUR BREATH YAZID NEVER ORDERED HIS FOLLOWERS TO HARM HUSSEIN RAD HIS FOLLOWERS DID IT ON THERE OWN SHOW ME ONE SUNNI NARRATION WHERE HE ORDERED THAT WE LOVE HUSSSEIN MORE THATN SHIA THE SHIA RAFIDI HARMED HIM DID NOT PROTECT HIM LEFT HIM HANGING THATS WHY YOU GUYS FEEL GUILTY

@theboast1 then atleast question WHO passed down these narrations from the prophet?
