  • In Tulsa. Ask MA.

  • I was also at that concert in Hershey PA. It was my first concert. And I remember the huge balls hanging from the ceiling. When they went off during the explosions it was blinding and awesome at the same time. I have fund memories of that concert - and to think I almost didn't go.

  • Dude, I saw the same concert (in Hershey) that year, and also remember the explosion from the ceiling ball. Incredible. Most incredible entrance onto stage I have seen... whey it's not a video I'll never know... By the way, Hersheypark in Pennsylvania was a great place to see concerts, whilst smelling the hot cocoah wifts throughout the town... (no kidding)...

  • I saw them do this in 1975 in Virginia at the scope. Best concert i ever went too. Durning this song they had explosions rigged on the ceiling throughout the area. Best concert i ever went too.

  • Best live recording of Tull I've ever heard is 'sackful of trousersnakes' (SftW tour). Ian's voice and mood and energy level are unbelievable. Best I've heard him.

  • Dance the days, and dance the nights away.

    Tull at their finest.

  • Does Ian play the sax intro in this live recording?

  • Yep.

he also plays on a few others like queen country...

Have you heard their 1974 album, War Child?

Excellent album with Ian playing sax,

Also check out A Passion Play, A LOT of great saxaphone playing by Ian on there. UW2

  • @underwwraps2 oh yea...im 22 and i have been listening to tull for like 7 years...my favorite band between mp3s and cds i have every album with the exception of some electrotull...passion is my fav album...then heavy horses...then TAAB...then warchild... aqualung...then benefit...songs from the wood...then crest...too old to rock and roll tytd...then broad...whats ur top 10 lol

  • any warchild (song) live with actual footage? Thanks again you do tull youtube justice more so than any1!

  • WOW...love this version.. Warchild is a great album. thanks for posting

  • haven't heard this song in 30 years. always reminds me of of my dear beautiful black eyed little old, give everyone everything mum and her always shreaking at loud sounds because of those fuckin loud air raids. She still shreaks at loud noises and is still cute.

  • no shit! great post - i'm a dedicated tull fan and have never heard this song performed live - thank you!

  • Again... Great Job.... Love Your Digz

Tull Is My Shepherd I Shall Not Want

  • I'm an oldie too. First concert was TAAB tour at Dundee Caird then this in Liverpool. They are still the best, even Ian's orchestral works.

  • Thanks so much for posting this. The Warchild tour was my first live Tull gig - Finsbury Park Rainbow 19th november 1974 - and it remains, I hope my wife will understand if she sees this :-), the day in my life that I would most like to live again.

If you have anything else of this tour I would love to hear it.

  • Warchild was also my first time seeing Tull (Oakland, CA), and

it was overwhelmingly memorable and life-changing. I've seen them at least 50 times since, and I'd like to think that this concert is being played just beyond the pearly gates.

  • Have you seen the clips from the tour that have recently been posted by TullTapes? A bit grainy because shot on 8mm, but still wonderful.

  • Nice to meet a fellow Tull fan. Well done post here. You should try 'Catfish Rising' and 'The Secret Language of Birds.' They're great albums.

  • Thanks!

I have actualy heard both, ( I have all Tull LPs and CDs)

    They are very interesting indeed.

I have various concerts from those albums as well.

    Thanks for tuning in! UW2

  • You're very welcome. And I'll keep on doing it.

  • You're obviously a hard(est)-core Jethro Tull fan, and I'd like to thank you for uploading such excellent material. You've got my vote, and my subscription!

  • Thanks so much!

I'm glad you like my stuff, I'm only 13 too, most of the kids at my school think its weird that I dress in a shirt with a guy wearing a cod-peice and playing a flute... ; )

    Thanks again for tuning in.

    More to come! UW2

  • You're only 13? My Lord! There is hope for the world! I'm 42 and you should be listening to the garbage to which most people your age are listening. I'm SO glad you're not! Whatever you did to lead yourself to Jethro Tull and, no doubt, whatever other excellent music to which you listen, just keep doing it -- over and over again! Now, you've got my two votes and my subscription! Cheers!

  • Thanks so much for you're kind words!

And glad you like the Tull I upload! UW2

  • Hey Buddy! How is it you even know this tune let alone have a LIVE version and the interest in posting this!?? I am 49 and have been a Tull fan for 37 years (my first concert was Thick as a Brick when I was 12) and I have never heard a live War Child recording! My 14 yr old son just watched another Tull video with me, and he thought Ian was weird!!

    Rock on! Nice job!!

    Bear

  • I actualy have tons of recordings of Tull from the 70s.

Maybe I can make you some copies if you'd like.

    Provate Message me...

  • hey,underwraps2. i am the biggest tull fan on staten island. question: i have a version of the ticketron, wind up live vinyl. but, it is the quicker sounding recording. i had the correct speed version. but, it got lost, somehow. anyway, would you be able to supply me with a disc of the correct one that i would love to have again in my collection. as we go along, i will tell you of some cool things regarding tull. tty soon at rmammoth69@hotmail regards...rich.

  • @bear1484 ,i,m 44,warchild was my favourite long play when i was 9,i live in canary islands, spain,we used to hear all the new music from Uk,even before all the rest of europe did!!i love "skating away",war child, two fingers,ladies..the entire album!!when i hear this songs,i feel as if i am 9 again, its wonderfull, amazing, incredible!!

  • @bear1484

  • what? how come you have all this amazing footage if your only thirteen? i mean...i'm sixteen, and i've been a tull fan since i first heard them at about your age, but i've never come across unheard material. you do! in buckets:)

  • I guess I feel through a small, but lucky "crack". UW2

  • This was such an enormous treat to hear. I've always wanted to hear this song performed live, but my first Tull concert was in 1977. However, I finally got my wish. Thanks a lot!

  • war child -the lp- was a great success

    (over 2 millions selling ! )

  • Absolutely gorgeous version! <3 Thanks a million for uploading this. I'd sell my family to watch Ian play his saxophone! ^_^

  • Yeah, Ian with his sax was quite a big deal in the seventies! I love this tour...

    Thanks for watching!! Underwraps2

  • What's even more amazing then the fact that no live pro-shot video exists from the Hammond Era 1971 - 1975, except for what we have from Paris 1975 but no soundboard audio exists either from this era! Amazing, not even a radio broadcast!

  • I ill be sending the full 8 Minutes of the Minstrel in the gallery PAris footage after I get it in the mail and I enhance it.

    Thanks for watching! Underwraps2

  • Yeah Randy... I've been screaming the same thing for years.

There was a BBC radio broadcast of Tull in May 1975.

The band played 4 songs -- Minstrel, Requiem, Aqualung and Cold Wind to Valhalla. Though only peices of this recording have been released officially,

you can get the whole thing on the MINSTREL IN THE RED HOUSE bootleg CD. I've seen it available for download on RapidShare.

But this show Nick posted almost sounds like a soundboard recording because it's SO damn clear.

  • Yeah, like I said in the big news message Paul, I have a brick show BETTER than this.

You will have it in about 4 days. : )

    Thanks! Nick

  • WOW.

    Can't wait.

  • Nick, you're gonna flip when you see the 1974film footage I have of Ian with his saxophone!!!

  • Are you still up for me enhancing your 75 footage?

    Thanks.

     Nick

  • Now that takes me back to when I saw do this live :-)). Thanks for posting

  • Your welcome, thanks for watching!!
