  • Das Video ist extrem grobflächig verpixelt. Hast du es zu stark komprimiert? Sieht doch original wesentlich besser aus, oder?

  • excellent video I am impressed.

  • QUESTION: I looked up the canon EF-S 18-135 lense... It states that it has SIX Diaphragm Blades.... How in the WORLD are you guys getting such smooth "bokeh" circles in the first few seconds of this video while using that lense??? I'm 100% puzzled

  • 60 d will take magic lantern has the articulated screen and is cheaper than the 7d but if you have xtra cash 5d would be the ideal option mark iii coming soon so wait or buy mark ii and get more lenses

  • What do you think I should get? The 60d or 7d? I only am only going to use it for video (with the occasional photo, once every couple months..) but I am going to film action scenes, I'm editing them with after effects... I'm not sure which one I should get.. It looks like the 60d has better quality but they have the same MP. Really hard to consider.. I am also considering the 5d mark ii.

  • nice BOKEH ^^

  • nice

  • I got the 60D, man, I got a LONG way to go, thank you for the inspiration!!!

  • damn it has great iso especially for 1600!

  • This is the... kit lens? Holy crap. O.o

  • Not bad for a "junk" (kit) 18-135 lens! Great bokeh.

  • @djl608 junk kit? explain why that lens is junk prick

  • @pgice The 18-135 has long been regarded as a kit lens. Kit lenses have the reputation of being cheap or junk. But, as even the Nifty Fifty/Plastic Fantastic has proven, cheap lenses can be great. The point was that this lens, which many would consider "junk", is apparently *NOT*, and I don't think of it in that light any longer. I was pleasantly surprised with its performance.

  • Comment removed

  • @pgice @rcarindom He put junk in quotes, meaning OTHERS have said that, and in this case inferring that even though people call this kit lens junk, they are wrong.

Before you call people "TROLLS" and "Pricks", make sure you've got a grasp of the situation.

  • @djl608 , junk kit, are you a nikon troll ??? then its understandable

  • @rcarindom I wouldn't touch Nikon to save my life. Canon all the way.

  • canon 60D videos on my channel

  • looking forward to test my 60D when i get it..but what about autofocus when shooting video?..is there any or is is it the USM lenses that you must use to get autofocus in video mode?

  • Как нет шумов?

  • What is the configuration of your PC to make it possible to edit this video?

  • Yeah right, whatever, geishathor. You're full of it.

  • i can see distorted pixels on my 26 inch monitor at 1080p.. while my 5D does not get distorted even when viewing on a 50 inch screen ! Shitty camera this, i must say !

  • Must look into this neat video, heard the name before, I prefer the 60D anyway because of the flip out screen and the ability to do 50fps for nice slow mo.

  • that's a great bokeh for a non-l lens!!! :) nice video, I love it!

  • Oops, hit the wrong button. Anyway, look awesome with a little help and good cinematography at a fraction of the 5DM2's price tag.

  • True. Doesn't say whether this was tweaked or not. I've taken 60D low light shots with a fast prime and used Neat Video to clean up the noise and that looked better than a 5DM2 in low light. And yes, all things being equal the 5DM2 would look better de-noised with the Neat plugin. However, the point being you can make 60D footage look awesome with

  • Maybe the street lights are really good there, with that lens you cant get a very wide aperture 3.5 I think, and at ISO1600 you should see noise, I could be wrong. In terms of video the 5d performs far better in low light because of the sensor.

  • Yeah, why do you think this wasn't shot with a 60D? I've shot with all the Canon's t2i, t3i, 7D, 5DM2, 60D, and I would agree with TechGeek95, if you're primarily shooting video, you don't need a 5DM2. The high price tag of the 5DM2 is because of it's still photography capabilities. When it comes to video, all these cameras are on a pretty equal playing field. Yes, the 5DM2 is a full frame camera and has a much wider field of view with any lens you put on it. And yes, it has a shallower depth o

  • I shoot with the 60D,and my results are easily this good. In fact, my reults are VERY good with my little T3. A combination of the right settings, lens and technique will make it happen. Also, a good tripod is a must!

  • I think a lot of people are having high noise, flicker and poor quality because.

    1.your not in manual mode.

    2.your using the wrong ISO..use only 160,320,640,1250 and 1600...max 2500

    3.shutter speed...24fps shutter speed should be 1/48, 30fps 1/60, 60fps 1/120

    4.low f-stop

    5.don't use auto white balance

and try to hold the camera steady, maybe use something....and if its still noisy use, software to remove it!.

  • @rolphenstien Hi, im curious about the fact that onlu only mentioned the ISOs as 160, 320, 640, etc

whys that? does that mean 100, 200, 400 are worse in some way? can u pls clarify

  • @dan007iel hi, yes best iso's are 160, 320, 640 then 100, 200 and 400... something to do d60's noise algorithm .. i would post a link to a page that shows this but youtube wont let me... not sure if its just me but youtube is impossibly slow just comment and due to constant updates barely works (sort your shit youtube!)

  • @rolphenstien which software?

  • @rolphenstien thanks for that information. about having a high noise on a camera.

  • @rolphenstien Thanks, do you mind explaining why we should use those particular settings? why 160 x1x2x3x4 etc? why 24fps=1/48?

Thanks though. I didn't realize you can use the ISO settings for the video mode!!!!!!!

  • @ChristopherJacques I just saw your other replies- here's the video to the ISO test. Just for your info, copy the part of the youtube video address after the dot com slash watch?v=x1Is4pircec

  • @ChristopherJacques

Native ISO of the 60D is 160, intermediate ISO are 'simulated' with introduces noise due to ROI (read out electronic) gain adjustements.

  • @Klotidus Wow really? I'm not doubting you, but where did you get that information? I guess I'll switch to 160 from now on.

  • @ChristopherJacques or a multiple of 160 (320, 640, 1250. max of 1600). Ensure you have light and open up the lens (lowest number = larger aperture). Respect the 90deg shutter phase to get cinema look (ie, in 24fps, 1/48 or 1/50 on the 60D). Longer exposure will give you more light but might generate streaking and awkward results. I strongly recommend you reading/looking at Philip Bloom's DSLR instructional vids and B&H DSLR tutorials. cheers and happy shooting

  • @Klotidus Cool, thanks for that. I had no idea aperture played a part in getting that cinema look. I will definitely look at those tutorials! Thanks again.

  • @rolphenstien What lens would you recommend to use for the Canon 60D in low light concert settings where there are lots of movement (metal music, so lots of head banging and moving around)! PLEASE HELP!

  • I have a feeling this was not shot with the 60D

  • @tbowe05 why is it hard not to believe it's shot with the 60d?

  • can you make a tutorial of this settings

  • Why won't Fenchel answer anyones questions?

  • looks great with the standard kit lens!

  • Wow, I better buy this one Canon 60D and save tons of money, forget about Canon 5D MK 2...or Sony A 900, I don't need more than what I saw in this video. Thanks for the Video.

  • @kleancuts: If you need a DSLR for video, you can save even more. Get the 600D instead of the 60D, it's better but cheaper.

  • @kleancuts

Find it hard to believe this was shot with the 60D at 1600 ISO. The 5D mark II will always outperform the 60D because of its full frame sensor. Ruuning out to buy a 60D over a 5D based on this video is not a good idea.

  • @tbowe05 If you're mainly going to shoot video you don't need a 5d.

  • There's gotta be ISO noise there..

  • @lhengsky18: now i know. thanks a lot. :)

  • @davedwyervideo: thanks. really appreciated for the help. :)

  • @JRMangelo for the circle motion light you can try this: set your camera (AF) auto focus to Manual focus (MF) at the right side of your lens then control the ring of your lens for you to achieve the circle light burred effect.

  • What SD card is best for video on the cannon 60D?

  • @MikeGrayFilms sandisk 16 or 32 gb with 30 mbits per second

  • Hi, I'm new to photography. How do you do the blurred circle lights? sorry for the dumb question. i'm a newbie. :)

  • @JRMangelo Set your camera to manual focus (MF) and simply turn the focus ring to blur the lights.

  • What FPS was this shot at?

  • whenever i shoot in low light movie mode, it's really noisy starting 800 ISO.. is it because of the lens or the camera?

  • Canon 60D is always the best.

I bought it last year 2010 and it is still useful and can't replaceable item for me

  • @vobowin canon 550d with magic lantern? same vidoequality but cheaper and lighter

  • noisey , but a warm noise if that makes sense?

    thanks for posting

  • Canon 60D it's t3i?

  • @DaanReeis noooo! t3i is canon 600d!!

  • How is the footage not grainy (noisy) at all if your ISO is all the way up at 1600????

  • Check out my little short test of the canon 60d, I got some sweet footage

  • at 50 second in this vidoe

was this timelaps as TAKING shots and sticking them all together like in STOP MOTION , or you took a fotage 60 frames and speed it up ?

  • its not bad until you hit 2500

  • Best way to shoot with a DSLR at night is to crush the blacks in post, there is no way around it.

  • You were using the Kit Lens at 1600, how the hell do you not have any noise? Even at an fstop of 3.5 the noise on my 60D is terrible. How did you do it?

  • sorry, what is the song

  • Who did the song?

  • like it

  • hi, i have a question.. i just tried out my canon 60D with canon 28mm f1.8 USM.. also on video mode at night time. I had basically the same lighting as you've had in this video. why do I see flickering in my video? do you have any tips? here are the settings i used for my shot:

    ISO 1400

    F1.8

    1/60

thanks a lot in advance for your reply!^_^

  • i have a question. im using a 7D and i want to take some amazing night shots like that. how come it looks like that is it the format or the res that makes it look like movie material and not sharp and stock image how it looks when you first put it in movie mode... also do you mind sharing your settings? - Add Me. Inbox.

  • wunderwaffe

  • Ive notice in the dark video is really grain but when you up load to the web or youtube the grain washes out. I think it has to do more with compression.

  • im a damn noob at these types of cameras. hell, i never even used one. think it'll be a good idea to buy this? im used to simple "point and shoot" cameras from Walmart. i think i want to venture off to a more complicated camera like this one and learn to use it. or the Sony NEX VG10

  • whats the name of the background music?

  • this looks VERY good

  • why does my footage have so much grain on it (canon 60d)

  • Why my night videos are not coming out as sharp as this one,

  • sehr gut

  • i just got a 60D yesterday, really is great, & the screen IS just as cool as it seems on these types of videos, flag the 550D & go straight for the 60D honestly ! =)

  • @EasyFame: All reviews say the 60D is better than the 600D/550D for photos, but also that there isn't much difference to the 550D when it comes to videos and that the 600D is even better for videos.

  • Great job! I just got a 60D and can't wait to take it to it's fullest extent!

  • @ConnorCrosbyPrdctns and how is the 60D doing? worth buying?

  • @MrLukasDiSparrow so far it's amazing with pics and video. But, I recommend getting an external mic such as the Rode Video Mic.

  • wow! it's amazing!

  • i jizzed in my pants!

  • Very nice. I just got this camera and have not mastered that quality of video yet. Especially at night.

  • Hey i own one too!!! and man this camera rocks! Great job on the cinematography!!! really good editing man! good job.

  • looks very nice

  • OMG .. absolutely without noise ... perfect for the price!!!

  • Man, that looks amazing!!!

    The 60D is fantastic!!!

    Thanks for the vid!

  • Hola a todos!!! escribo desde Colombia y deseo saber si para trabajar los archivos en adobe CS 4 necesito descargar un codec en especial. Muchas Gracias!!

  • what settings did you use? I have the 18-135mm and the low light quality is terrible with a lot of grain. I don't know if its the lens or do I have the settings wrongs.

Please respond, I could use your advise.

    Great footage by the way.

  • what are the settings its really nice 18 135 like this cnt believe not came any noise

  • Nice video, sir. May I have the name of the soundtrack please? It's so soothing.

  • how do you edit it? when I import my footage into after effects the quality gets really poor and dark

  • @Cyan12

This video wasn't edited with Adobe After Effects. We used Adobe Premiere Pro CS4. But I don't know why the image is "dark"...

  • @FenchelJanisch when I say dark I mean the contrast get jacked up to 11 and the image is harder to edit and color correct

  • @Cyan12 dont edit footage in after effects use it for visual effects in videos put footage together with premiere pro

  • @Cyan12

check out your general settings and your settings for your composition. or Maybe it shows you a lower quality while you edit it , after render it quality could raise up to standard

  • @Cyan12 You gotta import using premiere first then you can edit it in after effects

  • @Cyan12 Is i darker during editing, or after you've saved it? The H.264 codec has a bug that has not been addressed which makes videos darker.

Try a different codec or just export it as uncompressed digital video and see if it's still dark or not.

  • @Cyan12 AF is not an editor but reinstall after effects, your missing files, I use to have the same problem, now its brighter

  • @Cyan12 just use curves to make it brighter and adjusting the contrast or something

  • @Cyan12 Calibrate your monitor and get a descent video card. Thanks!

  • why is ur shutter on 100? Don't get it?

  • Shots of handrails, yeah!

  • why so much noise in the video???

  • @MichaelJacksonSpin at iso 1600, thats pretty good . . .

  • @MichaelJacksonSpin because its iso 1600

  • what file type did you upload? ..it seems very youtube friendly.. there isn't much degradation.

  • What is ISO 1600?

  • great great editing congratulations 10 stars

  • Dude this is beautiful footage! I'm sold!

But I don't have the money for that yet haha

  • New blog about filming, editing and DSLR video:

  • @FenchelJanisch what settings did you use? I have the 18-135mm and the low light quality is terrible with a lot of grain. I don't know if its the lens or do I have the settings wrongs.

Please respond, I could use your advise.

    Great footage by the way

  • @Breakdown916

It might look better on YouTube but of course you have grain in the Video.

    ISO 1600

    Shutter speed 50

    Aperture f/3,5

  • @Breakdown916 YOU got to check your shutter if you are shooting 24 or 30fps make sure you set your shutter for double meaning 24fps shutter has to be 48 or 50 of sec and 30fps has to be 120/1 sec and also open your aperature (F stops) Good luck

    thinley_1794@yahoo.com

  • @thinley1794 ok,i'm a noob...if 24fps is supposed to be 1/50s,isn't 30fps supposed to be 1/60s?

  • @thinley1794 shooting 24fps set shutter 50/ sec and 30fps set shutter 60/sec thats the rule otherwise u will end up getting rolling shutter problem when you pan, try slow panning and open up your aperature all the way and adjust your ISO according to your light condition your are shooting you need to crank up ISO more atleast above 1200

  • @Breakdown916 - its not just the settings, its a collection of techniques learned with experience, you will get there too

  • @Breakdown916 if u are shooting in a low light conditions, you better get a lens with a good F stop like 0, something till 2,8. a thing that is expensive. the other thing is to noise, u better put the iso the lowest it can get, in order to have the lowest noise.. but not to darken the image too much either. moreover.. try to set the shutter speed especially in low light. try fixing these and u will figure it out.. if none of these work, then the next step is to get a better lens

  • @Breakdown916 It is because of your lens that you are experiencing poor low light performance. The 18-135 does not let as much light in (aperture) as many other lenses like the Canon 50mm f1.4, and thus the need for the camera to boost the grain (ISO) in order to produce a brighter image.

  • @Breakdown916 it is because your lens is not fast enough. you need a f/1.8 lens or faster

  • Very Nice for ISO 1600! Looks Great and all of these Footage are 24fps?

  • @wwwoliverbaerch

    Danke Oliver,

alle Aufnahmen wurden in 24p gefilmt!

  • Thanks for getting back to me,:0 I just bought the new 60D last week..I also picked up the cheap l50mm lens ($124 only) great little lens for the price even if it is plastic (just have to be careful that's all) anyway, I have the new photoshop elements/premeire 9 and Corel Paint pro 2. I'm still learning how to use everything..what program did you use to speed it up? Thanks for any suggestions or help. I haven't figured out out to set autofocus in video mode yet.

  • @onlyforbrian that should say 50mm typo lol

  • And remember tho Youtube has HD isn't it as good quality as the original so it will make a big diffidence cause Youtube isn't Perfect...

  • no mention to audio quality, input control so how is it with an external mic?

  • Wow! I can't notice any difference beetween Nikon D7000 and Canon 60d... AWESOME quality on BOTH CAMERAS...

  • What settings, ISO/shutter speed etc?

  • @eclipse245

    ISO 1.600

    Shutter 100

    Aperture f/5,6 and f/3,5

  • What lens did you use?

  • @MrChelove

    Canon EF-S 18-135mm

  • @FenchelJanisch

    Only that one?

  • @FenchelJanisch how did you video the time lapse cars speeding by? Time lapse photo then spliced it in?

  • @onlyforbrian

5 minute video sped up to 10 seconds.

  • i checked the image solution and its only up to 640x480 ? is it bad ? I thought the bigger number the better. Nikon D7000 has really good quality at night shots

  • @YoungB4o8

Yes, if you watched it in 480p but you must click on 1080p!

  • Sehr schön!

  • Comment removed

  • So is there a big deference between 60d and 550d in video mode?

  • @Fa9ooly323

    It's nearly the same quality.

Good thing about the 60D is the monitor...

  • Song?

  • @Mystr0183

    It's a sample we made...

  • wow, Prima! :D

  • Hallo. Kannst du bitte den Beitrag fstop, ISO und Einstellungen? Bitte in Englisch?

  • @Cowboyraygun

    1600 ISO

What other settings do you want to know?

  • Sweet! Looks great.

  • Wie schauts mit Aliasing aus?

    Irgendwelche Verbesserungen?

  • @PredatorGER

    Sigma 120-400

    2 fach Konverter
