i commented on this video 10 months ago. now i have a two month old. i used this and it helped so much. especially for controlling your breathing while having contractions. there should be a better video on this. i had a 8 pound 5 oz baby and pushed 2 and a half times. i didnt rip and had an unassisted delivery!
This product is a wonder. I am definatly using this when I give birth to my first child. (im not pregnant yet) My friend used this and her labour was so easy. After she finished dialating she layed on the hospital bed, the nurses called the doctor and the baby came out before the doctor arrived. That is amazing. And the baby was NINE pounds i believe!!!!!
I used EPI-NO with my both children. First daughter, 3.6 kg, epidural, 6 pushes - not a "scratch". Second, son, 4.3 kg (!!), epidural, 3 pushes, not a "scratch". I was in full control during pushing stage, I had such an easy recovery! Nonsense about streching vagina - on the contrary, it improves your private life!
I think this machine could be useful but it is also expensive and hard to obtain. Maybe the same effect can be reached by using an inflatable buttplug which is used as a preparation for anal sex. These can be ordered on the internet and dont cost half as much. Talk about it with your midwife or gyneacologist however.
My friends where laughing at me because I was using it. I had to push only 6 times (first baby, epidural) with NO tears. Now they all want it for baby nr 2!! I think this is the best invention since contraception!

No way I'd use that. Manually stretching the vagina doesn't make it more stretchy, it makes it more *stretched-out*. In normal birth, the body produces hormones that make the tissue stretchy. It won't do so if the mother is anxious or feeling observed or directed. Logically, you'd want to avoid those things so your body could function properly. But instead we have stretching machines, as if the female body is inherently unable to give birth without injury without the machine. What nonsense.
It doesn't stretch out the vagina. It stretches out the perineum. I used it and my vagina isn't all "stretched out". Its not nonsense. I used it while I was pregnant. My baby was born with his hand on his head and I didn't tear at all. Nonsense? Indeed not. Maybe some people naturally don't tear. But for many, many others who would tear without preparation using the epi-no, using it is a very sensible option.
one problem is these devices are fairly expensive and its not recommended to share them..why not use a condom over it or sell the ballons separately so that it can be used by several women? Pity the main goal of the manufacturers seem to be profit and not womens health, since there are no recomendations about using condom or separate sell of the ballons.

they are actually unavailable in the US. I live in the US and I had mine delivered from a friend who lives overseas. You should contact a friend or midwife overseas to see if she can get you one.

okay. I don't know too much about buttplugs, but that might be dangerous. Yeah, talk to your midwife or obgyn

I also had my doctor smear olive oil around the opening while I was crowning during birth and that also may have contributed to me not tearing.
