  • Who's on bass, benji?

  • @msTmattole I think Felix does the bass with the Hammond Organ (foot pedals).

  • What a band!! History in the Making Here.. Peace and Love.

  • Ur a bad ass!!!!

  • @elgordito72 Cool.

  • I got my ass paddled in high school back in '66 because of this song. We were in this huge "study hall" auditorium where the slightest noise is a big no-no. I snuck out my transistor AM radio but it had no sound. Battery? I racked the volume up, heard the background hissing of the station, but before I could back it off, "GOOD LOVIN" exploded from the speaker. I had turned it on precisely at the break in the song following the organ solo. Now age 60, that's what I remember of this song.

  • @mnpd007 Good One, I'm still chuckling over it. Simlar story but not anywhere as good as yours. Thx 4 sharing. Ah, what great memories we have before headphones took over our lives.

  • Dino used those felts on top of his cymbals. At the time, THAT threw us drummers for a curve. At school, "why'd he do that ?" So, we had to do it too !!

  • "I was feelin, so sad. I asked my family doctor just what I had. I said " Doctor...Mr. MD. Can you tell me what's ailing me? He said..yeah yeah yeah yeah....

Yes, indeed...all I..really need..is good love, good love"!

  • Blue eyed Soul--The Rascals---Yeah------------!!

  • Hair monster? That's Eddie's dog, "Rascal."

  • Was I the only one who noticed the hair monster in the background @ 1:37 ?

  • They're all high as kites.

  • I know Felix! I know Felix!

    DJ

  • FELIZ IS A GOD !!!!!!

  • yeah, but where is the bass player?

  • Who playing the bass ?

  • @blueticech

The organist is playing his bass pedals....lot of bands did it that way

  • Great video ,saw them inperson back in the day was really an exciting

    band ,loved them.:-)

  • Fantastic ! You got too love this group!

  • Dino - truly the backbone of the band!

  • The dog on the 31H Leslie is diggin the groove too!

  • That organ is not a C-3 or B-3. It is actually a model D built in the '40s and has two tone generators, no vibrato, no percussion but is essentially the groundwork for the later models, the CV.BV,B2,C2,B3,and C3. These organs was/were/are the ONLY thing you can buy that last over 70 years. Think about that! An AMERICAN icon.

  • @shymoneykid Sorry, but I happen to hate rap.

  • @SixtiesPopGold1 good rap hate u 2

  • @shymoneykid If you like rap why don't you go and listen to that instead of leaving negative comments on other much better artistes' videos?

  • @shymoneykid, WHAT E-V-E-R!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • C3 with a tallboy Leslie.

  • C3. Absolutely. Check your pictures.

  • Hammond C3...not a B3..

  • @w5cdt NOPE... IT'S A HAMMOND B-3 for sure

  • I got to meet Gene Cornish while taking photos at the Barnaby Bye concert on June 4th for the band this past weekend. Great guy and a great guitar player. They played GOOD LOVIN with Gene and the place went wild. Gene announced that THE RASCALS, all original members, will be getting back together for new shows!

  • This song is the greatest! It wil go down in history! I never grow tired of hearing it! Love watching Felix playing the Hammond organ! Sue DelBianco

  • Felix looks like a young Steve Martin here

  • @golyg I was thinking more like a young Marty Scorsese.

  • Dino Danelli, absolutely one of the best rock drummers from this era! One of the best stick twirlers EVER!

  • @MattHatter Absolutely... the best! Just as this tune is one of the best rock tunes of its day…I was about 12yrs when this tune came out and remember my friends with their garage band trying to learn it….they lacked an organ.

  • @MattHatter Yeah...I noticed. He's sick.

  • that fat guy is gene cornish.....r u a fan?

  • who was the fat fill in guy for the band's guitarist?

  • God they were the best Felix on lead & organ Eddie & Gene on back up & The GREAT DINO on drums.ROCK ON GUYS

  • "Benji the hunted" gives this jam two paws up!

  • one fantastic band.

  • Bruce Springsteen does a fantastic cover of this song on his Hyde Park Calling 2009 cd and dvd

  • What's Davy Jones doing there ? ? ?

  • damn,I had forgotten how good they were! Love this!

  • 1:38... wait what

  • @Chad90909 Seems to be some sort of sloth making a cameo!

  • Last thing,I heard Felix say In an interview they rrrreeeealy did not like being called blue eyed soul. That's all folks!

  • Just loooove watching Dino Danelli twirl those sticks!

  • @bobpinella Sho ya right!

Evrybody else, give tha drumma sum ;D

  • @bobpenello Sho U right! Hey,evrybody give tha drumma sum. Yeeeah baby :D

  • BLUE EYED SOUL!

    How incredible was Felix?!!!

    whooooooooaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!

  • The best drummer in rock and roll, Dino Danelli. The bass comes from Felix on the B3, one of the few rock keyboard players who knew how to play the pedals with his feet and very well.

  • @bobpinello The trademark Hammond B-3 sound of the Rascals came by accident. Felix Cavaliere was playing a VOX keyboard but was forced to play the B-3 when there was not enough room on the stage for Felix to put his VOX keyboard before they were to perform. The rest is history.

  • Boy does this bring back memories. The Rascals were a big thing and Felix was fantastic!!

  • LOVE THIS SONG LOVE SINGING IT

  • Did they really get away with not having a bass player? Sounds like it here.

  • Groovy stuff!! Thanks for posting, man.....far out!

  • I love this stuff, seein' these bands again -- especially all the unplugged instruments and dead mics. Network wouldn't allow "Live" for a spell, so they'd have to play "live" just to each other while the record was played as the broadcast audio.

  • @sleepingcatt yes Because playin Live meant Bigger bucks. They are vocalizing Over the music track .Thats it.

  • @DYNODRUM Hope that didn't come off in any way as a put-down, my comment. Just what they had to deal with via the tech at the time. It's fun watching! Love it.

  • @sleepingcatt No not at all/Just was agreeing w/you basically .They were an amazing Band , to experience Live . I, have seen few ,today that can touch them .

  • I remember the dog his name was Rascal!

That was Eddies Dog! You guys at that time were really amazing! I remember going to the ChooChoo Club you called yourselves

The Who but then you changed it to the Young Rascals! I was 13. You will always be

part of my life your music stays in my soul!

It's the background music of my youth!

  • the instrumental track is pre-recorded from the record - only the vocals are live.

  • AWESOME live performance. It is so good that I thought it was lip synched but it's NOT. Phenomenal!!!!!

    Thanks for posting it.

  • priceless...

  • Bravo!!! Bravo!!! Bravo!!!

    The Rascals totally ROCK!!!. :)

  • Thanks for sharing this- great song and video! Ron
