  • Beautiful song. Brilliant share. Thanx

  • rich and pure, just beautiful, blessed be to thee

  • After listening to three Mickey Newbury songs, I tend to want to slash my wrists and drink a quart of Draino,.... but the pain is too sweet. Nobody can touch my heart like this man. God knows I miss him. Thank you Mr. Newbury, for your legacy of pure musical emotion.

  • Absolutely breathtaking.

  • What a wonderful song & artist, thank you for posting......Peace

  • My eyes are completely wet and my heart, oh you can't imagine how my heart is...

  • The taking of Mickey too soon is the one time that God pissed me off. Truth be known He brought Mickey up for His own enjoyment.

  • Very meaningful....

  • Just can't stop playing this! I have the live version on the album of the same name and totally love it. Great vid too. Thanks

  • Paganmaestro once again you have managed to bring tears to these old eye's with the haunting beauty of Mickey's music Thank you

  • In my opinion, Nashville is still deaf. They passed up Shania Twaine for one. Mickey they have no excuse for at all. He is and was such a treasure. Good looking too. Love that man.

  • Miss ya Mick . God Bless and prayers to Chris and Suzy

  • that man could write he is up there with the best song's I have ever heard And a good voice ..What a loss

  • coleyman1, you hit the nail on the head. Nashville doesn't care if you can sing as long as you look good. Mickey hated Nashville and what it became, that's the reason he left and went back home to Oregon. He was one of the "Outlaws" like Willie and Waylon. Know one was going to tell Mickey what he could and couldn't write. He was his own man and he didn't answer to anyone but himself. Mickey and my husband were the best of friends. I could tell you several stories about them. lynng1947

  • god damn thats a beautifully sad song....thanks for postin it

  • Sometime between the time this man came to Nashville and the day he died, Nashville went deaf! He made a great living writing songs and I'm sure he and his family lived and live still from that talent. Surely, in some studio, someone listening to this man had to say, "Damn, this guy can sing!" It just proves that Nashville only cares about the money and not the music. The music left Nashville when the "young guns" came to town. Money and looks have taken over the business and it's sad..

  • Wow!! Incredible!!

  • Truly one of America's finest Poet / Songwriters

  • Beautiful.
