I started 40k with tyranids. Then I found miniwargaming and you played tyranids and I was like oh cool. Then I got necrons when the codex came out, then you got them too! Then I looked into Warhammer and I was like "These Tomb kings look awesome, If the game seems fun I'll play Tomb kings.." and sure enough, you play tomb kings. Weird...

@FenderStratster depends, in my personal opinion, for a beginner 40k is easier to start, its more of just piling in as many guys as you can and then rolling dice, i think tha fantasy is a lot more strategic, at least when you are starting. I personally like fantasy better but thats just me.

That rules is stated in the Rulebook but my and my mates still premeasure when its each turn, just dumb to declare attack action and then find out that u cant shoot so, Premeasure then attack , faster and simplier !

@DickLodge68 i suppose if you get really into it but then again it takes me like a month to paint a whole box of models and its only 20 pounds, it's like renting a movie every weekend for a month

@SuperDrChappers Well a decent starter set runs about $100 US. Start adding in all the paint, brushes, glue. It's just not an inexpensive game. The rules are very complex...and then you still have to have a friend in the area to play. If it's a hobby to paint figures, that's fine - did it for years. But it's way more expensive than my D&D days - inflation included! I like the game and the figures are well molded....just too expensive for me. I'd rather just play Heroclix to tell the truth.
