Both US and UK suffered over 400,000 fatalities in WW2. UK and ComWlth kept Hitler at bay and had major victories beating Rommel in Africa, sinking Bismarck etc
US came along. Added machinery and muscle and - together - we liberated France. We can argue all day about timing but sacrifice, however late, is better than none. Sarkozy doesnt speak for all France. Hes a politician sucking up to Obama. The intelligent French remember the UK as well as US.
yeah and those koreans have only been able to get british citizenship THIS YEAR. the great british yeah.. you can fight and die for them but you cant live here.. the greatest in the world NOT.
Sorry, you got it wrong. Anyone is welcome, provided you live as we live, and not dictate to us what we should be doing in our own country..... Oh yeah and do some work instead of claiming benefits off our social security system.
This memorial features the names of ***ALL*** of the British, Australian, Belgian, French, Norwegian, New Zealand, and Canadian soldiers who died on June 6th cast in bronze along the center walls, plus statues of Churchill, Montgomery, Leigh-Malory and more! It honors **ALL** of the Allied servicemen...
Hey thanks yanks and the frogs for winning the war for us brits, I thought we were there too! Must have be mistaken.... Thanks Sarkozi for the invite,Well thats what you would expect from our natural enemys .This is why we should stay OUT of europe because you're only in it for your own selfish ends..
aussieskiff the thing is most folks I've ever spoken with on the subject. have the highest regard for the sacrafices everyone had to make as a result of the terrible acts of the nazis. Britain,France,USA and allies share in the common bond in the defense of freedom and the cummulative effort to maintain it.
ALL of the Allied forces who participated in the invasion are recognized and honored at the D-Day memorial. Anyone who can't tell can look at their site or even the last few seconds of this video.
fighting an enemy with 10 years advance alone? if the British hadn;t bankrupt itself , America wouldn'nt have got any near Europe fuyckhead, I'm doing a Masters at Oxford in History so don't test me... Germany didm't wasnt to fight us becauise of the losses they would suffer, you entered trhe war 2 years after we'd took the stuffing out of them , din;t be a smart ass
Such animosity between allies?

Aye, well this memorial is in the USA, after all. The Korean War memorial in DC does refer to the Brits.
