Hey man, thanks for the awesome tutorial! I just have one quick question. Can this be used as an alternative for the flustration count at the end of This That and The Other? I love performing that trick but I'm always worried that they'll catch me in that bit because the move is so weak compared to the rest of the trick.

Hi mismag. I noticed a few comments where people don't understand how to finish the trick, and I thought it might be a good idea to explain that you need to do an Elmsley count at the end.

Maybe that's what's throwing off some folks (it took a beginner like me a minute to figure it out,) and a short explanation on how to place the cards for the finish could be good. Thanks!

I am confused though. I saw the this n that card trick and I knew the same card was shone three times. I saw this one and if you showed me the rumba count out of random and I don't know the secret I would still think the same card was shone. So is this a trick or just a fancy way of shuffling cards.

I think this count's biggest weakness is that its relatively easy to realize that the face you peel off and the back you show belong to two different cards because they are located in at two ends of the deck you're holding. I personally don't really like this count, but that's just me and my opinion.

mismag, ur the best out there in youtube, no doubts. ive learnt a hell lot from u. so i definitely mean no offence or rudeness. But the thing is even though a lot may agree this is an updated version, it does seem a little weird to me. I mean, if i show 4 cards to my audience, he would definitely find it fishy as to why im showing the cards in such a weird way! right? or is just me being paranoid?!

@ksay9maa - I sometimes use this count during J G and I find it works well for me.

A lot of so called magicians say "Always do the move like a lay person would". That's great but how many laymen do card tricks? My advice it to try it out and watch and listen to peoples reactions. You will then get your answer.

in this n' that's defense, it's supposed to look obvious. the spectator is supposed to get the hint that you are manipulating the cards and essentially "cheating". they think they have the trick figured out. they are ready to say "pshh that wasn't magic, you are moving the card around secretively to make it look like there is more than one." but then you turn over the "other" card and they're astonished. it's not the fact you have 3 of this and 3 of that but the fact there was the "other" card.

Nice effect, especially when you combined it with the Elmsley count and the show the real situation with the card backs... Its like a triple effect. First they think its all red, then they think its all blue and when they see the three blue and 1 red they will be stunned for sure :) Nice work like always ! Keep it up :)
