This is an outstanding series. I did not know about his ties to the Tsarist Secret Service or his identity as Khoba (sp?). I had a suspicion that the transition from the Tsar to Bolsheviks was a sham. This just confirms it.
It's a little known fact that Stalin was "chronically constipated". It's not unusual for these types of people to be unstable and difficult to understand or sometimes reveal poor judgment.
The suspicion that he had worked as a collaborator with czar's police has always loomed over his past ... I hope this doc at least mentions Lenin's testament demanding the expulsion of Stalin from the communist party ...
Ironicaly it took a man like Stalin and his 5-year plan to defeat Hitler. Without the 5-year plan the Red Army would not have had the capability to produce the planes and tanks they did.
@NightoftheShape3 - Without Stalins paranoid purges of his own military, I don't think Hitler would have gotten as far - or maybe not invaded at all. What would have happened then?
one man cucceeded devoling for a superpower nation that collapse in 1991 i dont thing so theye will evine hang him like sadam if theye gette a hold of him remember how theye move againste the 1917 revolutine then supporte rassia to topple germany then strunggulle the ussr to the brings of collapse economically
He was a bad guy, but he was neither a Hitler nor a Hirohito, both of whom wanted to murder entire peoples. Even with the Ukraine , the wholesale extermination of the people did not occur. History is littered with vicious dictators, but not with fascist monsters.
He did attempt to liquidate entire peoples! Unfortunately these small ethnic mountain people of north east Dagestan is little known about in the west! Beria was his hench man. The thousands of peasants of siberia and the Ukraine were also systematically starved and exterminated to death too. He was a terrible, evil man.
While Koba was doing this, Adolf Hitler was a lil schoolboy

Absolutely fascinating. Until now I did not take seriously the suggestion that he was a Czarist secret agent but now it makes sense.

I wonder how they actually sent money in those days before Western Union and electronic funds transfer. I guess it was physically carted around.

Stalin was the definition of evil. The level of evil that consumed Stalin is nothing short of unbelievable.
It's bone chilling and frightening.
