diff lock is lock so both shafts turn at the same time with the same power, a posi is normaly found in yank muscle car and is bascially a lsd with springs and clutch plates which need a certain amount of torque through the drive to lock the shafts(ok for street use)look up (detroit locker)here on you tube, it describes it best

posi is short for positraction which was simply Chevrolet's brand name for the limited slip diff they were using at the time.

A limited slip diff is exactly what it sounds like. It limits the slip the differential will provide while not eliminating it completely. Very useful in drag and road racing.

A locker locks both axles together so they turn at the same rate. Useful off-road. Not so useful on roads as its all or nothing in its operation.
