Hey Jay, thanks buddy; guess I was always destined for this kind of flying. Absolutely love it over here and if I could, I'd marry the Porter! Looks like you also found your calling; way to go Jay, congratulations.

Wow, don't really know what to say. Actually just read this one right now and am completely speechless. The reason I haven't seen this post before is in Nabire, we only have sketchy internet, but right now, I actually am in Biak (for maintenance) and this base has Papua's best internet.
Thank you so much; but again, most of the credit should go to the Porter for being the absolute best bush aircraft there is. Thanks so much!
I’m very familiar with all of your videos and this is the best one yet. Nothing like watching a good stick and rudder pilot at work, so more over the shoulder shots please. Also noticed a couple of differently equipped Porter’s you are flying, so I guess you don’t have “the rights” just one of them or maybe you don’t care. Can you say what camera you are using as you have set a new standard for aerial photography? In any event well done! I live vicariously through you.
Same here; WOW! I really don't deserve all this; it's the Porter that makes all this relatively easy. We use all the Papua Porters, depending on which one is in Maintenance at the moment. Sadly, we're loosing the 'legacy' Porters to Kalimantan for Survey flying...I for one love the 'steam' instruments. The camera is a simple 'GoPro'; works great. Thanks again!!
Incredible video mate, looks like you're having a hell of a time! Just wondering, what kind of experience do employers seek over there for potential pilots? Cheers
Susi Air is hiring 'low time' Pilots for the Caravans (Co-Pilot, until at least 1000 hours then possible upgrade). For the Porter, we're obviously looking for substantial tail wheel time and for Papua Pilots, extensive mountain experience. But, now, with the Survey flights in Kalimantan, these requirements are reduced. If interested: recruiting@susiair.com
I would like to see a few complete approaches, landings and rollouts with the camera setting like from 4:57, turbine sound included, so I could see you fly and have a better idea how it feels. Greetings from Switzerland
Hey, where in Switzerland? I'm from Naters, Wallis....Anyways, I got some other videos posted, where I used a conventional camera mounted on the compass bracket; there you see the entire approach....Vielen Dank, Mercie, Gruezi und and schoene Tag!!!
Awesome! Thanks for sharing! Flying like this for a career was a dream of mine once, and your videos give an incredible view into what that life is like. Cheers and happy flying!
Thank you so much; I really appreciate that. Flying the Porter has always been THE dream of mine and to be able to do this here in Papua...well, it just doesn't get any better. Cheers and happy lanidngs, wherever you fly..
One thumb up for the scenery, another thumb up for the Porter and a third thmb up for the GoPro and what it does to the propeller. :)
The music, though, doesn't work for me. It's not bad; it just doesn't match the video. Besides, I'd rather hear the aircraft.
