Most people are mature enough to censor their own content. And the ONLY thing censors should have to add is a warning before the content, but forced censorship is a plain childish, infantile and a very comfortable set of accommodations that have been hammered out over time for the convenience of institutions.
Nor is the placing of resposibility on end-user the only obfuscation.
YouTube's "Community" Guidelines are also disingenuous.
Miller vs. California, et al establishes that "community standards" for purposes of determining the obscene must include the sensibilities of the entire audience.
In YouTube, that audience is global.
To state that YouTube standards reflect the world is laughable.
So Fred what would you think might happen if say three months from now we started a movment to have thousands of people, on the same day and time, flag all of there own videos. Would it crash the system? Would youtube uphold the flagings as valid? What would be the ruling on posting and then self flaging? What would they do? What could they do? Imagine the cost and resources used. Maybe a virus could flag every youtube video there is at once. "Anonymous" Hello idea here! Lol. Kidding or am I?
Or mutual censorship where people, not content with turning their back on someone who is annoying them, want to make sure that nobody else can hear that voice either by exploiting the weaknesses of a site's "policing" system - like you said, the flagging system and so on.

Which effectively makes Night-Watchmen & Police, & Military-Careerists, equally as suspect as Professional Spies ; and any other form of "Might Equals Right" Standover-Thuggery !
