"Justice" was just a word for them. Their real goal was the challenge in game and of course to win it. If Light didn't killed L, L would have killed Light. Light is the badass cause he acted first. If you dislike Light you also have to dislike L...

I don't like the fact that L died, in fact it took me more than FIVE WHOLE MONTHS to be able to watch the rest of the episodes.

But I'm on 32 and I think they did ok making them, in fact more than ok because L lives on through Near and he wins the war between him and Light.

Honestly, by doing this, they have made L the most loved and memorable character in all of Death Note, it may have been different if he lived either way, L will always be the best and can NEVER be beat. :D <3 <3 <3
