It is a great album, the vocals are a little on the light side and far back ing mix but saying it is superior to The Beatles or The Beach Boys or Rolling Stones is a logic leap. It does hold it's own quite well though.

It didn't surprise me to hear Mackenzie's claims, which is already pretty twisted. Remember, the LAPD initially thought John Phillips was involved in the crimes that were later called the Manson Murders, well, just because. John Phillips was depraved. He was also a musical genius, in my home superior to Brian Wilson. This album features lyrics that reallys show his smack-addled torment and musical originality . It is mindblowing. This album is a masterpiece and of course, Mamas and Papas rule.
