Professional Wrestling is a business. Always has been and always will be. Wrestling Promotions want Titleholders who are going to draw fans to the buildings, sell merchandise and get people to watch them. Your Champions are going to be people who can make the promotion money.

True, the matches are predetermined, and yes it is also true that they don't actually "win" the titles. But, what they win every time they step into the ring is the adoration of millions of fans worldwide. That's what gets them the belt. Look at The Rock and Stone Cold, every time they walked through the ring entrance tens of thousands chanted their name, they're loved. That's what makes them champions.

I fully agree. I remember when Steve Austin made that comment and how stupid I thought it was. It also warps the minds of the wrestling fans to where they cant respect divisions besides the World heavyweight division. They seem to think if ur not in the main event or World title hunt, ur not getting a push.its not the goal of every wrestler to be the World Heavyweight champion,nor should it be. I like people focusing their careers on other titles.

Yeah true but there is a lot of truth to Austin's comment about being World Champion and if you are a singles wrestler and a good singles wrestler you should focus on a World Title and being a top guy. But to Brother Ray's point if one isnt going to be on the level of Austin, Flair, and Michaels as far as drawing money as a singles guy and you're not doing that. However, you put rear ends in seats by (with your partner) tearing down the house ala Arn & Tully vs. LOD back in the day.
