  • so will it rust even if you leave it in the sheath chillin in you room? I just got a high carbon sword, its more of a greek sword but I dont want it to rust so do I need to oil it once a week or only after hacking shit up? and if I do need to oil it even if Im never yousing it and it just chills in my bed, then how often?

  • @whiteboypatrickkelly ideally you should clean and oil it after every time you cut things with it. If it's just gonna be chillin, oil it once and it should be good to go for about 6 months.

  • Yeah, I love Rem-Oil. Use it on all my knives and guns. I have one of the $60 Musashi shirasaya but I want to get a more traditional sword such as what you are showing here.

  • @sniperofbuffalo I think this one is very superior to the $60 ones, I think it was an extra $20 well spent.

  • Cool video man.

  • @transformersfan1999 If you rub the right kind of oil on it and then sheath it, it should be just fine for about a year, after that you'd want to oil it again.

  • Blood groove = Hi Bo

And it's not ever called a "blood groove"... it is not for bleeding someone faster...

The "HI" is to lighten the sword and create rigid strength.

  • @Grams79 Yeah, a lot of my friends think that the "blood groove" is for funneling off the excess blood from the blade, but I know its just to take off some weight from the blade.

  • @DillonTjernlund I've called it a BG a few times in the past too.

  • @DillonTjernlund in regards to Gram79...its Bo Hi not Hi Bo... and it not only reduces weight, it is used a lot to remove imperfections near the spine, and to create the "takekazi" (spell check) or the whooshing sound when you swing. If you hear two of these whistles, then the edge and one Hi is singing, but if you hear three then the edge and both Hi are singing.

  • @Walkerofdeepsleep Just a little add in: this sword makes a very clear whistle when swung correctly.

  • I can't wait to get this! it will be my second musashi made sword and since it's miyamoto's (my favourite samurai) sword it couldn't get better

  • whatt oil should i use to stop it from rusting?

  • @MrXBLAD Any light oil will work. Traditionally mineral oil was used, but thin motor oil or gun oil will work just fine.

  • it will rust? dammit

  • @MrXBLAD It will only rust if you dont care for it.

  • @MrXBLAD

Rust is a good thing. It shows you're holding a real piece of durable steel. You'll rarely see stainless steel saws, hammers, and axes because they can't hold an edge, and will bend or break much faster. Also, it's important to remember not caring for anything will harm it. I have rusted over stainless steel knives because I didn't realize "stainless" actually means stain less.

  • Hello, sorry but 'sai-a' :) that is all. Also, very cool looking blade.

  • @CiscoTheMan Dammit I knew I'd mess up! lol

  • HAHA good job. I hate hearing everybody over use the proper japanese words just to be fancy. Awesome sword im concidering buying it.

  • @BeatGuruDubstep I would absolutely recommend it, I don't think you'll be able to find a better swor for the money out there.

  • Fun sword is fun. I have the Elegant Crane Musashi and it's great.

  • @EToastE All their swords are beautiful, I just wanted a simply and sturdy hand-guard, so I went with the Musashi symbol.

  • Dangerous blade is dangerous.

    Nice sword.

  • @Jh5kRadio The sword is quite nice, thus, nice sword is nice.
