  • I meant did t your scar heal ok

  • Did your avast heal ok? I think I would have took her to court! How is your hair? I am so sorry you had to go through that!

  • That bitch could have atleast made the hairstyle FREE. I hope her dumb ass was fired too cuz I would bee so fuckin mad if somebody would have fucked up my hair AND burnt my face.

  • oh no! never goin to another salon again.

  • @hwiley09 You know what, you SHOULD sue bcause she burned your face and damaged your hair? If she didn't know what to do w/ natural hair she should've turned you over to someone who did or they could've told you over the phone point blank, we don't work w/ natural hair. And how the hell do you burn someone in her face? You have to just not be paying attention, cuz that's not even --Oh, lol I just realized this vid is 3 years old.

  • Sorry to hear.Looks like you posted this a while ago. If a mark is still there try to get an aloe vera plant and apply aloe gel on it daily. Good luck! :)

  • haha it was at 2007 a little late i think =]

  • As a hairstylist I let my natural clients know of the dangers of flat ironing. Unfortunately 1 time can F ur hair up. Even though there are heat protectors out there you still run a risk of damage because a high degree of heat is needed to get kinky/highly textured hair str8 to the point to where the client feels like they go their money's worth out of a flat iron. Sorry that happened to you.

  • Burnt face = free hairdo

  • She should've have been fired!

  • did you finish nursing school...Ive got one year left!!!!! Yay!!

  • I have a 13yr old scar like that from a curling iron which I didn not care for properly but it not noticable b/c its on my wrist. I would go to a dermatologist curtesy of the salon if I were you. I would also get a free hair wash for at least a year which should belong enough for the straight pieces of hair to curl again. Whatever the agreement I would get it in writting and signed by the owner of the salon. Last that women owes you an appology face to face.

  • You're still pretty! I have locs and happily care for them at home. Your story is why I have no desire to ever return to a salon. When I used to relax my hair, I was burned by both the relaxer itself and curling irons so many times I've lost count. I have gray hair around my hairline but do not want to go to a salon for color. I went to Sally's today to buy temporary hair color and the cashier remarked how expensive it was. I just smiled. Better that than have some stylist ruin my locs!

  • put vasline on any burn just keep coating it and it will go away.

  • I had a burn on my forhead from curling irons, and I used cocoa butter for about a week straight. And it went away.

  • I am so sorry that happend to you. I was burned before too! It was before I was natural, but she blamed it on the "steam" too. I had a scar on my right cheekbone. I have a slight scar all these years later....

    Blessings to you.

  • if it was me i would have whooped her ass but i think you should try your best to cover that mark and tell everybody not to go to her to get their hair done.

  • SUE THEM BASTARDS GIRL !

  • Hi

    THAT IS TERRIBLE!

i feel so sorry for you :C!

is there any way you can get surgery lik to remove it like u can to remove tattoos?? :(

1st id say i want the money back plus money for all the things i have to buy to try to heal this. :(

But even if you can't do anything about it you are very pretty even with a mark on your face

if i met you i wouldnt even be thinking about that! aww but good lukk! xxx

  • i don't think you should sue. it sounds like she really didn't mean to and worst things have happened to people.

  • wtf the girl who cut your hair got some major issues...and if that happened to me i would get that iron and burn her freaking face to let her know how it feels like!! well i wouldnt really do that but i would want to..

  • u need to sueeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • OMG!!

  • sue 'em!

  • that was unacceptable customer service!!! u seem to be a sweetheart who doesn't want to bring harm to others in the world (i wish there were more of us in this crazy world!!!), but right is right & wrong is wrong!!! then for her to act so nonchalant about it!!! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!! makes me angry! i've been natural for almost 5 years & have never straightened my hair because I absolutely detest sitting in a beauty shop & hate the dryer!!! i will check for vids to see what you did...:)

  • I would be pissed! 10 dollars off...she must be outta what's left of her mind! How did she not see that burn...and then have the audacity to not even do your hair right and burn it till it was permanently straight. I would not let those people touch my hair again cause obviously they don't know what they're doing but I would SUE SUE SUE! I'm upset for you...didn't even give you burn cream up front...trippin!

  • She better not have made you pay!!!...should called the cops on the spot. I would walk out and send her my medical bill! Weird, we almost have similar screennames, and I was celebrating my 21st at this time...the 12th. Anywho, that was not enough she burnt you and didnt have the audacity to stop and get you some ice or something. How da frack you burn someone on the cheek anyway like that? Plus she singed your hairthat calls for a lawsuit since clearly this chick may not have a license.

  • probably too late to say this now but you should have put something like vaseline on that burn on ya face when it happened. even hair grease mighta helped.

  • I know this is a couple of months ago, so I'm just responding for anyone who comes along. You should NEVER put grease on a heat burn. It traps the heat and makes the burn worse and it increases the risk of infection if the wound is open. Instead, you should immediately apply ice or cold water.

  • You know what, you need to make the salon pay for your dermatologist (which are VERY EXPENSIVE) fees. PLease do it. DO it NOW before you go over the stature of limiations where you can't sue the salon. YOu need to have your scar treated by a dermatologist. SUE AND MAKE THEM PAY FOR WHAT THEY DID TO YOU!! PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD! Girl you got me heated, lol. But it's 2009 and you better act now!

  • Girl, Judy Judy, Joe Brown, Mathis, Alex, Milian, Pirro, David will take your case!! SUE THAT SALON AND SUE THAT STYLIST!! IT IS YOUR RIGHT TO SUE!!!!! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, SUE!! yOU DESERVE JUSTICE!!

  • She was representing herself as a professional providing a service to a client. She was negligent and her actions resulted in an injury to you. Please represent for us all and hold her accountable for her negligence. By the time I was done with her, she would have been happy that all I did was sue her. You should have kicked the cowboy SH*# out of her.

  • oh hell no. she burnt your face. small claims court because you are going to pay a ton for creams to try to heal your face. and now tons of hair products to make your hair back to the way it was. they say beauty is pain, but this is taking it a little to far.

  • SUE HER and the SHOP!!! she shouldn't have charged you!

  • THis is why i stay out of shops! Stay natural!!!

  • i know this was a little over a year ago, but i am soooooo pissed at the girl's (i'm not even giving her the honor of calling her a stylist/cosmetologist/beautician) attitude! "no not really," "little boo boo," "$10 off" wth?! she was whack as hell.

  • i did that to my arm.... Go See A dermatologist cuz.. i burnt my arm like that.. and i kind of have a scar.. im pretty sure it will go away but.. just in case go to the doctor.

    p.s

    SUE HER ASS

  • girl u shuda burnt her ass bak

  • LMAO

  • lol!!

  • I feel so bad for you. Yes. Have them pay for the dermatologist visits. Get a skin peel if you have to.

Coco butter, aloe, those are great natural choices.

  • Girl i hope you did SUE HER!! because before i looked at this vid. i was like DAMN!!! what happend to her face... but then you started talking , but yeah so it dose effect you , because first you empression is everything:) . but yeah.:)bye

  • that burn does not look severe enough to be permanent. do see a dermatologist. you still look good blieve me

  • I'm so angry about the way she treated you.How dare she said it is a ''boo boo''!!! as if it isn't anything bad.I think you should sue too. This hurt you physically and psycologically.

  • MissJoJO-

Have the owner sign a binding agreement that states she will pay for all dermatological treatment of the burn until it is healed to your satisfaction. This covers you and holds them liable. Should she break the agreement then you sue. In my opinion you don't want to take time out of your life to sit in court arguing back and forth. So since the owner offered to pay he/she shouldn't have a problem putting this in writing.

Be well sista and chin up. You still are beautiful!!

  • There is no way in this green earth that I would let them get away with this! Okay...first of all I have been a cosmetologist for half of my life, and I would never be so calm and cool if I was to burn someones face. If you do not feel like going through all the legal stuff...PLEASE! take the manager up on her offer. Go to the dermotogist until your face is completely healed. I dont care if that means a few years, and I would make her shampoo and condition (nothing involving heat) every week!

  • Girl you need to sue her ass!

  • you shoulda burnt her behind back!!

  • honeny you should sue straight away, or do something legal, make it known and put it on the record she burnt you. She was incredibly unprofessional. also, as soon as you hav ebeen burnt, you need to put it in cold water, or an ice cube over it for 10 minutes, otherwsie the cells beneath the skins upper surface, keeps on 'cooking' with all the ehat that isnt being taken away. they didnt offer you anything for some time, and only a damp paper towel. they didnt take all the money back.

  • makse sure you do do something about it though. she could have done this to other people, and although it was an honest mistake she del;t with it very very poorly. you should have been compensated, given all your money back, and more money to help with dermatolgy covers now.

  • it was aslo a stupid mistake to make. ok so sometimes hairstyles dont come uot the way they, or they cut hair wonky, etc etc, but the first thing id too keep and heated applainces at the saftest distance with clients, and to ram it on your face was pretty stupid.

  • I do not miss that kind of unprofessional care and unfortunately it is common.

  • are there any salons in your area that specializes in natural hair???? if so thats where you need to go.you will be better off beacause they know all about natural hair care

  • The name of the salon was Lisa's Natural Hair Care in Philadelphia...they supposedly specialize in natural hair care

  • i live in philly its a good natural shop in gtown on Chew Av and Magnolia ST

  • CHELTEN AVE NOT CHEW AVE

  • She should have made it free and since she didn't do that...i say sue the pants off of her!!!!! IT'S NOT OVER THE TOP!!!!!

  • suing is not over the top, I don't even know why people would tell you that. That woman who burned you needs to be taught to be more attentive to what the hell she is doing and if she has to pay you she just might realize that

  • why did you still allow her to flat iron your hair? I would have jumped out of the chair. I would have taken a picture with my picture phone, got her card with her full name on it and sued her ass.

  • I've tried everything the dermatologist had me use until it was gone and also I've used 100% vitamin E oil, aloe, mederma, ambi fading cream, cocoa butter, shea butter...I've used it all. The only option that I'm left with is letting time heal or bleaching the area which the dermatologist suggested as an option. But bleaching sounds a bit intense and although I love Michael Jackson, I dont want my face to end up looking like his.

  • Hey everyone! I've been so busy that I haven't been on here. I never took any action against the hair salon but I have been talking to a few lawyers...they said I have up to two years. I was trying to wait it out and hope the scar would disappear but its still there even after using all the remedies daily. I still have to find out the owners name and the name of the actual stylist but the name of the shop is Lisa's NATURAL Hair Care located in Philadelphia. How ironic is that?

  • maybe you could try nadinola's skin lightening cream. i know it works great on clearing up scars from acne and such but its worth a try. I've also heard of something called Rosehip oil. If its an open wound... dont use it. Only use it if the mark is healing. Good luck lady :)

  • hey my natural and beautyful african woman all i got to tell you that sometimes jealousy can make people do certain things even they did not met to do it .i have a semilar story of a friend who was hypocrit one day she offer to do my hair and unfortunaly she burn my forhead . later find out that she told friends she didnt want to do it but her heart made her do it cause she never like me any way so know that whats inside always will come out by an act.so stay natural beauty .shes ugly with perm

  • Dude, I would have cussed this lady out and cried at the same time.. You are a better woman then I.. she was soo rude about it.. I mean every woman knows you dont mess with the face...

  • I'm so shocked by this hair stylist's cavalier attitude. Please sue her. She can wind up burning someone else. You do not let something like this slide.

  • Omg im so sorry!

  • aww boo that evil bitch tried to mess up ur pretty face u shouldnt payed i woould of sued her ass take a lesson from a wite people they sue for every little thing(:

  • lol so true!

  • I'm sorry this happened to you!

If you put 50iu's of strait Vitamin E on your burn, it will take the scar away.

  • ohh hell yes i would sue b/c they should know wht the hell they were doing. i mean thats why they went too school and it was too know how too do hair and do there job. i dont give a fuck what they offered to you you SHOULD SUE!!!!!!! b/c that burn may never go away, and your the one who has too deal with that the rest of your life ...not her YOU. and it 's not no what ifs she burned your face and she needs too pay.

  • OMG! That is awful! That was unethical and you need to take the offer and make your OWN!One thing they don't teach you in beauty school is how to do natural hair! But one thing they do teach is PROFESSIONALISM! So whoever that was she should be ashamed! You keep smiling and you're a beautiful black woman!

  • I would take the offer and get them to pay for all the treatments. Also have them to sign an agreement that if your face dont clear up from the Dr. that you will go further to get there business closed. Because it is a better way to handle something like that if you are an owner. Right unprofessional!!!!! I have as a little girl burnt my arm with an curling iron and I still have that mark, no cream has removed it. so please take action

  • omg i am so sorry

  • Oh my goodness that's such a horrible experience and she is SERIOUSLY unprofessional. I agree that if I were her I would have given the service for free. You really shouldn't have to deal with that. I'm a nursing student too and I know how you feel about that "first thing they see on my face." I would have lost it on that lady, I probably would've sued her especially with the way she acted. Keep your head up high though. You held your composure well- qualities of a good nurse :)

  • sorry that had 2 happen 2 u! hope u can conquer this situaTION CORRECTLY N ACCORDINGLY!

  • I know one thing, I would'nt go back there to get it done again. You are still a bleautiful woman and you know what goes aroud comes around. She did handel it real unproffesional but you don't have to stoop to their level. You live and you learn.

  • i as a hair dresser feels that she handled the sitution very unprofessionally.

u have so much beauty....if i was doing your hair i would'nt have took any one from you...actually i would of gave you money. i will leave because i have had many..but thats not the point.

  • I can't tell you what to do, but i don't think i would have paid her a damn penny! I know people make mistakes, but come on now! I hope that it heals soon and doesn't leave much of a scar. I would use shea butter for it because of the healing properties and it is natural. Take care and i wish you well.

  • I agree Your Service shold hve een free... Yes it was a mistake... you live and you learn. I agree with the others say about not sueing. You handled it great. it will heal. Just take care of you skin really well and just word of mouth can urt them more!

Tell Juanitta Bump N Curl.. to have a training class on What if I burn someone on Mistake.

  • beat her ass ...after you file the suit

  • its ok. u r still beautiful, but I think you should definitely sue the person responsible. She was very careless.

  • I hope you are sueing her. You have a STRONG case and if you have the time/money/aid whatever...do it. You're not supposed to go to a professional salon and leave with a burn...especially on your face. NO WAY...accident or not, sue her.

  • use mederma for scars, it gets rid of scars in just a few weeks!

  • It will eventually fade away...trust me I have had several hotcurler burns on my face, arm, ear, hands, and a iron burn on my arm...and if you saw me today you can't see any scars...Just continue to use the neosporin and coco butter...hope you feel better...

  • sew her!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • You actually paid her? Why?

  • What happened was ... my cousin left after her hair was finished to go get an outfit. I called my cousin up right after the burn incident and told her to come pick me up right at that moment. So when she got there and came inside, I told her come on lets go cause I was so upset. I started walking to the car but she lingered and was talking to the stylist. When she got in the car, she had told me that she paid the stylists and it was a discounted price since a "boo boo" was made.

  • OMG!!! That may leave a scar!!! I would get an attorney asap. We shouldnt have to go through these things just because we have natural hair. I had my own bad experience today in a salon. I wanted color. The stylist acted like he was afraid to comb my hair and the color came out two-toned! We need to visit Ms. Jessies in NYC. She can hook us up. Did you put some shea butter on the burn? That may help it heal faster.

  • girl sue her!!!!!!!

  • Get the best dermatological treatment you can and it's most likely to be expensive. Give them the bill and if they don't want to pay for it sue them. I think you should seek a lawyer's advice anyways. You've handled this situation in such a mature way, I would've been so mad!

  • girl i am a licensned cosm. and i am telling you to seek compensation. she should have been more prof.

  • ida BEAT HER ASS girl thats ur FACE!! You are so nice cuz i would be in jail lol

  • 21st or 25th birthday? does your cousin like you?

  • 21st birthday and yes my cousin likes me lol. She got here hair done there right before me

  • sue the hell out of them, but if you ever do decide go to a hair stylist that specializes in natural hair style only , that scare is clearly visible and when it peels its going to leave scare like as if u were or something

  • OH MY GOD! I'm sooo sorry and PISSED this happened to you. people are soo fuk'ed they cant even take responsibility or say sorry?!!! and the whole take $10 bucks off nah I wouldn't have paid for shyt. This is a Gross negligence not just a simple mistake! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE SUE!

  • Please sue .... for me!!!!!!!!!

  • Do whatever makes you feel comfortable this is your facenot anyone elses!

  • girl, maderma quick. as soon as it's startin to heal, maderma will take a burn off. but birl i feel u, i went to a hair store a few months ago and a guy that worked there put acetone on my face ."yes" aceatone, i had asked for a moistorizer and i never asked him to put anything on my face burns all on my forhead, i was going to sue but i was in the mid. of movin' an only finaces at the time kept me from it but it was in the process, and he was gonna pay..;)

  • I definitely agree with you! I'm a nursing student myself and I completely understand! I do believe you should take her to court for ALL of your medical bills you incur AND pain and suffering in addition. They should also refund you the money you paid for the services that day!

  • Have you tried Mederma? It is like $25 for a medium-sized tube of it, but I heard it works. Dang, that makes me not want to get my hair straightened, for like ever. I am sorry that you had to go through that crap on ur birthday!

  • You have up to a year to sue them

  • i would completely sue!

  • i am so sorry for what happened to you i am a hairstylist and i know that things can happen, but the way she went about it wasn't right, she had no compassion for what she did to you. i wish you the best. and if u are ever in elizabeth city, nc. look me up amairi hair designs 1502 w. eringhaus street eliz.city, nc 27909

  • SUE SUE SUE!!!!!!!

  • OMG!! I would have been PISSED!! How dare that stylist act as if it were nothing. I support black owned businesses just like the rest, but when it comes to hurting me, or harming ANY part of my body, all of that crap goes out the window. Sue the hell outta them. Good luck and God bless.

  • How horrible! I'm so sorry this happened to you.

  • This made me really mad about what the hair dresser did to you. I would have called the police to have it documented, then had a picture taken of it at the doctors office and sued her. She had a lot of nerves charging you. I also had a bad experience at a beauty salon, that's why I said to myself never again.

  • Naw suga, i would have stayed there until i got my money back, for sure cuz thats ashame! but you kept your cool which is good but she would have definately let me go for free, now im mad!

  • Use shea or cocoa butter in there purest form on your face it really works. Hope everything works out for you!

  • if we could see the burn...lady i knew what that was before you even said she burned you. I would not have held my composure especially when she said she'll take $10 off. Imma look at your most recent videos to see how that healed. Oh and with heat styling you take a risk of having permanantely str8 hair because one never knows how your hair will react. Your hair didn't break did it.

  • Yea I still haven't done anything about the situation other than kept all of the dermatologist bill receipts. I was hoping it would heal nice because I really didn't want to sue a black owned business but as of now, it's still clearly visable and darker than the rest of my skin. I don't know what I'm going to do. The lawyer actually said I had 2 years to file anything against them.

  • JoJo, keep giving them the receipts from your dermatologist and make sure they're being paid. The real test is if you need any minor cosmetic surgery like laser to get rid of the scar. If they don't wanna pay for that then SUE the hell out of them because it's YOUR FACE! It was her neglect and they have to pay for it one way or the other!

  • No breakage yet, it's just permanently straight. I know the effects of heat so I blame myself but before this my mom has hot combed my hair and I've used the ceramic flat iron and my hair has had no problems. Once water touched my curls, they immediately went back to being tight as they were before they had been straightened. But when my mom or I straighten my hair we control the heat well, use protective products, and don't try to get my hair bone straight.

  • I had a burn on my forehead the exact same way,and it took for ever to turn back to my natural skin color. But let me tell you this Ambi works wonders it actually lightened back to my natural color so please try it.I know it works.

  • Sue them babygirl, do not let them walk away from injuring you. You have every right to do what ever it takes to be rightly compensated! 10 bucks? she must be kidding... how bout a LAW SUIT! she'll see how that grabs her because who knows tha could leave a permanent scar. Call a lawyer now don't wait. Whites do it all the time. lol I hop all goes well :)

  • You're doing the right thing by going to see a dermatologist. You should still be compensated for what's called pain & suffering. Find out what your State's Statute of Limitations is for filing a lawsuit. Don't only accept reimbursement for medical expenses. The damage exceeds the cost of medical services & warrants your being compensated for the emotional trauma you're enduring. Keep receipts for the cost of travel to & from the Dr. & work lost due to appointments.

  • UGH..thats so messed up! Whats wrong with these people these days.

  • Cocoa butter, Vitamin E, and aloe have become my best friends!! The scab came off and it is white in that area. Since it is getting colder out, I'll probably get more pale and it will blend in. As for now it looks like I'm in the beginning stages of having vitiligo!

  • Try to go to a dermatologist who specializes in Black/ Brown skin care as soon as possible to prevent major scarring and ensure you don't get an infection. So sorry this happened to you.

  • Wow that is really terrible and that's exactly why I don't like going to the salon. I hope everything works out for you!

  • I am so very sorry for what happened to you. I realize that you are very upset and you may feel the need for revenge but, there is no honor in that. You should probably see a dermatologist to help you prevent scaring. Ofcourse the salon should pay for the damage to your face. Your hair is another story. Did you not know that excessive heat can permanatly straighten or burn your hair.

  • No I do not feel the need for revenge. If I did, I would have picked up the iron and burned her back. She is supposed to be a professional. I am going to a dermatologist. I'm worried more about my face than my hair. Hair is hair and it grows back. Yes I knew about excessive heat damaging hair but I didn't expect that from a professional since my mom has hot combed my natural hair and I have flat ironed it several times and managed to never have caused any damage or change in texture.

  • I apologize if I offeded you. I have had natural hair on and off for 20 years as well as maintaining my son's hair. I just find that hairdressers are not as knowledgable about natural hair and the risk is very high some will damage your hair. As I said before, I am so sorry that this happened to you

  • girl I feel it for you I cant imagine how it feels knowing you have a burn mark on your face, dont let it bring you down your still beautiful. Definitly go and see a dermatologist to see how you can minimize the appearance of the scar maybe they can do something to help fade it out

  • Zen and Faith I went to a dermatologist to see what I could do about the burn. She told me it would either heal darker or lighter from the looks of it. If it healed darker she said they could bleach my skin in that area. If it healed lighter than my skin she said I just would have to wait it out over a few years.

  • You shoulda burned her back! LOL No seriously, she needs to pay!! I agree, go to a dermatologist and have her pay and also make her pay the money back you paid to get your hair done. She should have to pay for whatever procedures you need done to get the mark gone. Luckily it didnt puff up.

  • go see a dermatologist (an expensive one) and make her pay.

  • Godiva and Be Coily she is definitely going to pay. I will be getting together my dermatologist bills and demanding a refund after I talk to my lawyer. The burn did puff up after it happened luckily the swelling went down. The dermatologist said that it was a 2nd degree burn.
