@veggiewarriors While I certainly agree with you that these animals belong in the wild, I think zoos are also important because they have the ability to affect people greatly and cause a greater appreciation for nature. I know that happened to me.

They affect people "greatly" at the expense of an animal's freedom. It's a heartless and selfish choice people make, esp. given the alternatives for education.

It's safe to say that showcasing a cheetah's extraordinary hunting abilities in this video was more awe inspiring than seeing one sit on 3 acres FOR LIFE and having "treats" thrown at it in a zoo.

@veggiewarriors I don't really disagree with you. I'm just playing devil's advocate. The only real reason I saw this video is because I was really caught up in watching the snow leopard at the zoo. Now I intend on donating to the Cheetah Conservation Fund as soon as I'm out of school and financially able.

I know where you're coming from. And I'm not trying to pit your viewpoint against mine.

I'm only trying to get well-intentioned animal lovers to think critically about the plight of animals in the zoo itself.

So, you may have been inspired by watching a snow leopard at the zoo. But that has more to do with your own ability to feel deeply for other living beings than the zoo itself.

I'm sure you'd have donated $ even if you watched this movie in 3d.
