  • john lennon and paul mccartney balanced each other out. One was rough and the other tender so in effect they gave balance and what music did they produce when they were together.

  • @joeybehr47

That's true but both could switch roles-John for example doing 'Julia' 'Cry Baby Cry' and Paul doing 'Helter Skelter' on the white album.

  • I do think he was the "soul" of The Beatles.

  • @rose99910001 I am affraid that John was the heart and soul of his band. The others were band members.

  • Only my love...

  • God he's so adorable. His voice just blows me away and his face is a bonus! ^.^

  • Amazing!

    xoxo

    The Clarences

  • La melodia de la cancion hace que la letra, simple o sencilla, adquiera condiciones de un gran poema dedicado a la mujer que se ama, obra genial de Paul, quien mas.

  • John started to make "musical " politics, but fortunately Paul continued making music - his voice is the VOICE. An songs much better than they said in critics in papers. Beatle-songs many of them

  • Paul's my love, and alot of people's loves all over the world.

  • I do think he was the soul of "The Beatles".

  • Macca comented once that McCullough told him right before this live broadcast that he would change the guitar solo. ("do you mind if I change the solo?")

  • what can you say about mccartney hes the greatest songwriter ever and we will never see anyone like him again.

  • the only somewhat negative thing a person can say about paul mccartney is that he had a mullet for a while. But I guess it is only negative if you don't like mullets!

  • well that is true but we can forgive him for that 1 the mullet was a bad look for sure

  • yes, he has definitely done so much more than the mullet, so it all outweighs the hair style and Paul still comes out on top of almost any other musician of whom I can think.

  • oh, hey, i just realized your screen name ends with the same five letters mine starts with. Cool. :)

  • @montelimat the mullet was cool- it was showing Paul was still a teenager of the Beatles at heart-rebelious and ready to rock the world

  • @carlitopiemonte All The Beatles were good(: Harrison was my favorite but that's just my opinion. McCartney is so cool.

  • probably the greatest pop song ever written fuckin ever

  • He did Great things After the Split ~~But he Did his Greatest things Ever ...When He was With the Beatles.... Its Paul McFuckingCartney ~! Beatle ~! Legend ..... How Many songs do you think that Man Has Written ? <3 <3<3<3

  • @MrBornbadd Paul has written hundreds of songs-l ike 12 Beatles albumds and 10 Wings albums plus other unreleased/solo work--and 3 new creative albums as "The Fireman" and a classical album and country album--Paul is a genius!

    SIR paul mccartney <3

  • Very cool vid....thanks for sharing. I really enjoyed this...of course, everyone enjoys Sir Paul. :)

  • This is a beautiful and most original version of this song. I cry everytime I listen to it. The words, the music and the love that is being so extraordinarily sung about is one that was shared with the one woman he adores and always will. A "true love" that is such a rarity. Thank you for posting.

  • GREATEST MAN ON EARTH

  • Quantas lembranças maravilhosas me trazem...Amo essa canção!!!

  • EL MAESTRO DE MAESTROS SIMPLEMENTE

  • so many memories of growing up in the 70's. I was born in 1964, and listened to Paul McCartney and wings on AM radio. This song especially brings back memories of my sixth grade, and junior high dance. Sir Paul...you are the best.

  • Wow. This is sad, when you get dumped remembering how you selected this song for your girl. Beer is good.

  • Was this at the premier for the 'Live and Let Die' movie?

  • No, this was the JAMES PAUL MC CARTNEY variety special aired first on british television.

  • He's so cute!...mullet and all, he still looks good;)

  • would you call it a mullet? is it long enough? I say pageboy? lol

  • tOTALLY @gree w/u

paul was a part of the best band in histiry

    KING OF POP MACCA!!!!

  • Agree

  • Amen to that, brother! Losing Michael was the death of an era. But losing Paul will be the end of music, as we know it. Take care, Paul. We need you around for as long as God will let us keep you.

  • it would have been so romantic if at the end he got up, grabbed Linda and kissed her.... i would have cried.

  • I heard the coachella performance was on another level.

  • Does anyone have the Top of the Pops performance of My Love.

  • Paul and his many hair styles. Not just a pretty face, he is very talented.

  • his mouth puckers up real weird to get that sound

  • i wish i was alive in these days, to see him live.

  • He still does play live shows these days, so hopefully you can see him.

  • I love this live version...in fact, I like more that the studio version. I love the violins and the trumpets in 0:28 and the solo, when paul makes: yeeeahhh!

  • I heard this played at Coachella 2009 by Paul and I cried and cried. Such a beautiful, tender song and so timeless.

  • yes he is a real named person and besides he wrote this song and one day I awoke dreaming with this melody in 1997 And I this song is so real

  • Essa música é muito bonita. E essa versão ao vivo é fora de série!!!

  • Paul has always been in my heart since 1964. And that love for him and his songs will never fade away. This song really moves me. We played this song at our wedding. Thank you Paul

  • This version is great, one of my favorite Guitar Solo of all time

  • Paul, nosso Beatle querido. Mantendo a chama sempre acesa. Belissima canção que embalou os sonhos de amor de muita gente. Paul para sempre, Beatles para sempre. (2)

leticinha falou tudo!!! paul sempre, beatles eternamente!!!!

  • Truly a musical genius along with all the other Beatles. This song can bring me to tears, especially the guitar..it is so intimate. He loved Linda so.....

  • Paul, nosso Beatle querido. Mantendo a chama sempre acesa. Belissima canção que embalou os sonhos de amor de muita gente. Paul para sempre, Beatles para sempre.

  • how beautiful with the strings...is there a bigger icon in music today? I think not

  • Simply great!!!

  • This is musically, a great piece of work.

  • Awesome, great, Fantastic song! Love you Paulie!

  • This sounds so romantic.

  • after rap, came grunge crap, and heavy metal crap, and alternative crap....it may be 50 years again, before we get great music.

  • Hey hey hey...RB, The difference is that Paul is a Beatle and they do not ....

  • Ummmmmm....well he did right all the music. What exactly did he take too much credit for? You are right about McCulloch being a great guitarist (awesome job on Juniors Farm) but he never could kick his drug habit. McCartney never said a bad word about the guy nor Denny Laine.

  • Wings made some incredibly creative stuff during their time, Paul's Beatles compositions were bland compared to the more adventurous Lennon. then he was asked to write the theme to the film Spies Like Us - he called in Elvis Costello to help, in my opinion because he was short of ideas. The stuff he churns out on his latest albums is poorer than mediocre, and that's being generous.

  • This is a common misconception. McCartney was the more experimental Beatle who was always pushing for the music to go in different directions...it drove Lennon nuts who wanted to make the records as fast and a straight forward as possible.

Elvis Costello had nothing to do with Spies Like Us....he worked on Flowers in the Dirt but he and Paul never recorded. Can't say I am a big fan of Paul's recent work but in my opinion it is not mediocre.

  • Lennon's solo stuff was much more innovative (#9 dream & Mind Games album) to name a couple - when I heard Paul's From A Lover To A friend, that was it, he couldn't even think of any decent lyrics and put in loads of la la la's - dreadful. Just reminds me of Genesis after Peter Gabriel left, a load of rubbish. Paul deserves his place in rock history but you can't milk "I'm an ex-Beatle" for evermore - his best days are well and truly gone.

  • Uhhh.....Lennon's solo stuff was more innovative? In what way? Yes Plastic Ono Band and Imagine are personal and filled with great moments but innovative? How? Those two albums were his best and the rest were much more middle of the road. They broke no new ground and were the reflection of a rock star who was burned out. Like I said...I am not a fan of Paul's recent work but still maintain he did some great stuff in the seventies.

  • Never said a bad word but also never said a good word either. He barely talked about Denny on Wingspan.

  • what a great lead guitar part. I don't think even Paul could have come up with a better riff. Very appropriate and tasteful.

  • It really is a beautiful guitar solo... so melodic!

  • I love this song!!!!!

  • 79 no comin'up

    stereo de you can appreciate

  • wo wa wa wo wo, indeed

  • Everytime this song is played I always tend find that certain smell in the air just to fully reminisce it. Flashback springtime 1973 freshman in high school.

What happened to the world today?

  • I know man, I'm only 23 but I understand. Where did the true love songs go, I wanted to hear this song at some dance and see some girl and feel that 'my love' feeling, but all I got was 'My Humps' by the Black eyed Peas. Shit, I am so jealous of you.

  • Don't be dude, I was just born at the right rock era at the right time. I enjoyed my childhood and the music. I really have to thank Casey Kasem for all the things he's done back in the '60s '70s & the '80s. That's as far as I can go- the '80s, beyond that it's just chaos (musicwise).

MTV in the early '80s was great, I don't know what happened after '83 MTV just sucked.

I'm glad my 4 kids from 22 years old to 12 listens to classic rock specially The Beatles.

    You're still young...have fun.

  • I'll tell you what happened after 1983. RAP got noticed- It may another 20 years before we can get some great music again if we're lucky.

  • Yep...I'm 34. What a beautiful song that you can imagine dancing with your love

  • Beautiful! Love it live.

  • Best Wings EVER!!!!!!

  • wonderful....thank you...

  • omg i love this song, thank you so much for an english copy of it, beautiful.

    thanks!

    Jendoof

  • This is the first song I heard when I received the news that My Love had been killed in a car accident. I still remember the feeling every time I hear this song. I still love you MY LOVE.

  • oh god... this is probably the worst thing that can happen to someone.

    I'm sorry.

  • My heart goes out to you. I had found the LOVE of my life not long after Linda McCartney died. I lost the love of my life tragically as well to Cancer way Paul lost Linda. I hope time has healed some of the indescribable you have or still feel. I am sorry to for your tragic loss.

  • Everytime i hear this song i imagine he's singing it just for me ^^, i know that the true's that the whole song is for Linda, but, well, can't i dream?? XD Paul's the most handsome man in the world ^^and... i'm in love!!! XD

  • This is the best version of this song that I've ever heard! Thanks for the post City, you rock!

  • You're welcome! ( ̄ー ̄)b

  • He never liked Phil Spector production of the Let It Be tapes but then he went on to kinda use that sound!

  • written for the enigmatic heather mills... LOL!!!!... great song :)

  • hey! this is linda's song!

  • this is just great, this is better than the recording. you can really feel the emotion he puts into this song. thank god for Paul McCartney.

  • This 'James Paul McCartney' show has been slated for years but from what I've seen the performances are extrodinary! This is the best version I have ever heard, as good as the record.

  • Best live version I've heard from him, just listen to the strings, and the guitar is played suttle not shredded like in other live versions. One of the best ballads ever.

  • OMGOD! Thank you for posting this video! I could die happy!

    I love you Paul...very much!

  • it's beautiful this song, and it's incredible how people had many different stories about beatles in different moments of their lifes all around the world... songs like this one will never die

  • WOW!! What memories this song brings back :-) The great lazy summer days of the early 70's. I was 8 when this song came out :-) And it's still a"stop in your tracks and listen to song" now, as it was then :-)

  • WOW!! What memories this song brings back :) .....the great lazy days of the early 70's summers. I was 8 when this song came out and spent a lot of my summer days then, riding bikes, water tubing and playing in the stream in our backyard. Great memories...thanks for sharing this vid :-)

  • This is a beautiful version~

  • I was 11 years old when I watched this on TV. Been hooked ever since. I'm 45 now.

  • ME TOO!!

  • I remember McCartney in an interview saying he was shitting himself because this performance was the first time MY LOVE would ever had been heard by the public, and just as they were about to go live Henry McCullogh told Paul he was changing the guitar solo. This was quite literally the first time he had heard it....

  • I remember that interview too. I think this solo is better than the recorded version too.

  • It was the first time Henry McCullogh heard it too! He fell back on his skills as a blues man and just jammed it out!
