  • I think I remember this one or a similar one. I understand that this one you are able to pray to saints for healing and such. However, I can't remember if in this one you had to attend masses at certain times or the saints would be less inclined to help you. Is it this one or another RPG from the same time?

  • @couchtr26 Upon researching it (I didn't even know about the saints!), I think this is indeed the one.

This line comes from a review of it: "Clergymen will be better favored by the saints by attending mass and praying."

  • @SiGhast Thanks for the help. I had seen a few videos and it seemed like this one might be the game I remembered but wasn't sure. I had a hard time tracking it because I had it on a compilation or demo disk. I had a lot of weird computer memories that were very similar. There was a Mac one I played frequently and all I can remember is using the spell "Festering Wounds". Thanks again and thanks for posting many old dos rpg videos. Many bring back fond memories.

  • @couchtr26 Not that I am in the habit of responding to myself, however, I found that Mac game for anyone that might be interested. Realmz was the name.

  • Matt Chat has a 3 part interview with Arnold Hendrick, designer of Darklands (and Pirates, Gunship and Silent Service!) Check it out here:

  • @HardWarUK Interesting. Thank you!

  • Best RPG in the last 20 years!

  • wow...this really takes me back. i loved this game.

  • I loved this game, thanks for the video! I only got about half way through the game before getting stuck so I'd love to see a "Lets Play Darklands" series. Just from watching this video and the one fight scene, it's easy to see so much of this game in Bioware's 1998 classic Baldur's Gate. From the paper dolls, to over world traveling, to the turn-based isometric combat.

  • This game as Awesome, with a capital A. I wish microprose would release the source code so a sequel could be made.

  • Damn right.

  • @SyberSid

Dont need the sourcecode for a sequel

  • @SyberSid A sort of remake is being made using the Oblivion Construction set, a total makeover, not a mod.
