@esquilo56100 either kick so much ass so that u get to lvl die, or put the game on hard mode. i would suggest hard mode to anyone. their is a great sence of achievement after killing a boss the tore u appart the 1st 100 times u faced him =P

This is not some kind of competition, this video is over 2 years old and was only uploaded as a demonstration. With training and dedication 'any' player can achieve a perfect no-damage run, this was recorded soon after the game was released and I uploaded videos as I was playing.
hes talking about the secret challenge you unlock in the fighting arena once you beat the game. if you go into the arena defeat all 50 stages you unlock a special stage 51 fight which is you regular gene versus god hands gene. its tough but not impossible :)
Now I know what you mean, the Arena challenges were great and yes Re664 I have cleared all 51 of those. I need to start playing God Hand again, we're never getting anything else like this again and I miss the depth of the system. I'm really holding my breath for Bayonetta though, if these guys pull out all the stops the result will be legendary.
Awesome. Though I must admit i was a bit dissapointed with this boss since he wasn't like previous more "humanoid" bosses. Felt like they should've kept up the trend or at least make him no bigger than Demon Elvis, Shannon and the Fly devil whose name escapes me.
I'm fine with Angra being a giant demon because he comes right after you fight Azel, the hardest humanoid in the game. However, Angra is actually fairly easy for a final boss because he telegraphs almost all of his moves and he can't dodge. His giant life bar makes up for this, though, and it's still a lot of fun to beat him senseless.
Seriously...nothing in my experience of gaming was more satisfying than the first time I beat Angra! As one game trailer said, "It's hard...but fair!"

Although I suggest you use the God Hands when you are in a tight situation or when you get a good opening. Whatever you do, dont let that tension gauge run out.

You'll find that you can keep an enemy stunned this way - for example the single enemy Arena boss fights (such as Elvis) can be won easily for earning money quickly.
Easiest way to make money is to use the Dog Races in the shop, just keep betting on Lucky Clover. Another very fast earner is to spam "Drunken Fist 2" against a load of the single opponent challenges in the Arena. I reckon it'll take well under an hour's effort to get seriously rich.
Yes there is - I'm playing the Japanese version and Lucky Clover wins 9/10 times, this may have been changed for the overseas release. Unfortunately I have never played them so I cannot confirm.

I know this man - this video was made almost a year ago and was only the 2nd time I'd fought this boss. When you play through again it's only the first area you'll be broke while playing, once you clear this get over to the Arena and Dog Races to earn riches quickly and you'll be able to power Gene up massively with the full shop selection.
It's because it's 100% a GAME which you have to study and learn how to play. All people want these days is eye-candy you can blunder your way through with no skill whatsoever.
I completely agree i love games where you have to listen to what people say in the dialogue or you are lost forever plus on two player mode i know all specials and kill everyone
I have beaten this game up and down and I cant get enough of it. I REALLY want them to put it on the xbox live arcade or remake the whole thing for the 360 as a retail game with updated graffix.
It's superb isnt it? The system is so varsatile that they could throw out another version of it with different enemy types and bosses, job done. It's so hard now to find a market for such a no-nonsense product these days though, plus with the closure of Clover Studios it's unlikely we'll ever see any more of Gene :(
The sales didn't add up though, there's a big difference between being critically acclaimed and successful in sales. Here in the UK it wasn't even commercially viable to release the Viewtiful Joe guide book because sales of the game were so low. I reckon if people were sat down and SHOWN how amazing VJ was they would have got into it.
well capcom still lives and I am sure viewtiful joe and okami are far from over, god hand, on the other hand, I dont know about. Id love to see more of it but who knows? Kinda like powerstone, it was a great game that just dissapeared.
Only for the difficult mode you finished it in. So I ended up finishing the game properly in Hard Mode first before screwing about with all the extra stuff available, all moves become available when you get to the shop after the very first stage.
No problem at all ^^ - this boss video was done absolutely ages ago, I just wanted to get (any) final boss video done so that I could move on to my playthrough on Hard Mode, there are a lot of mistakes. I know the counter you mean, it's absolute class.
man ur awsome, hav u tried kicking back away from him though, if u kno his long range attacks, dodge them until he dat counter icon pops up...im not sayin u suck, cuz ur way betta than me at dis game, but u shud try this technique, its real useful once u get the hang of it. P.S. use the double shaolin right at the start.
I personally think this fight is a little too easy. He's got moves that are easier to dodge than any other boss. I almost think they purposely set it up like that, giving you plenty of time to pummel the shit out of him, haha.
Don't you just hate it when you unleash the Godhand right when Angra decides to be somewhere else? -_-
Great performance there. Heh, it looked like that second Double Shaolin was going to whiff? Did you think it would? The finale was perfect too, when you managed to dizzy Angra when he was on his last inch of health. Nothing beats an ending like that. (b'_')b

I want to make a demonstation video detailing this but my video editing skills are non-existant. These are Evade-Cancels, you can manipulate near enough all animation via the right stick's evade functions. Have a look at the rate of the left-right evades; slow isnt it? Now try slotting a fast jab between and then canelling the jab animation with another evade, you'll notice that whether changing direction or going the same way - the delay frames of the evade are completely removed.
btw i think fighting devil hand is the most epic and fun fight in the whole game

I know this man - this video was made almost a year ago and was only the 2nd time I'd fought this boss. When you play through again it's only the first area you'll be broke while playing, once you clear this get over to the Arena and Dog Races to earn riches quickly and you'll be able to power Gene up massively with the full shop selection.

It's because it's 100% a GAME which you have to study and learn how to play. All people want these days is eye-candy you can blunder your way through with no skill whatsoever.

I completely agree i love games where you have to listen to what people say in the dialogue or you are lost forever plus on two player mode i know all specials and kill everyone

I have beaten this game up and down and I cant get enough of it. I REALLY want them to put it on the xbox live arcade or remake the whole thing for the 360 as a retail game with updated graffix.

It's superb isnt it? The system is so varsatile that they could throw out another version of it with different enemy types and bosses, job done. It's so hard now to find a market for such a no-nonsense product these days though, plus with the closure of Clover Studios it's unlikely we'll ever see any more of Gene :(

The sales didn't add up though, there's a big difference between being critically acclaimed and successful in sales. Here in the UK it wasn't even commercially viable to release the Viewtiful Joe guide book because sales of the game were so low. I reckon if people were sat down and SHOWN how amazing VJ was they would have got into it.

well capcom still lives and I am sure viewtiful joe and okami are far from over, god hand, on the other hand, I dont know about. Id love to see more of it but who knows? Kinda like powerstone, it was a great game that just dissapeared.

Only for the difficult mode you finished it in. So I ended up finishing the game properly in Hard Mode first before screwing about with all the extra stuff available, all moves become available when you get to the shop after the very first stage.

No problem at all ^^ - this boss video was done absolutely ages ago, I just wanted to get (any) final boss video done so that I could move on to my playthrough on Hard Mode, there are a lot of mistakes. I know the counter you mean, it's absolute class.

man ur awsome, hav u tried kicking back away from him though, if u kno his long range attacks, dodge them until he dat counter icon pops up...im not sayin u suck, cuz ur way betta than me at dis game, but u shud try this technique, its real useful once u get the hang of it. P.S. use the double shaolin right at the start.

1) Using the Yes Man Kablaam was hilarious!
2) Toying with him at 2:30 was hilarious, until you got hit. :p
3) I like to use a few 100 Fists (Fist Of The North Star style, haha) towards the end to toy with him.
4) A PUMMEL finish? Nice! I try to time it so I'll get a PUMMEL finish.

I personally think this fight is a little too easy. He's got moves that are easier to dodge than any other boss. I almost think they purposely set it up like that, giving you plenty of time to pummel the shit out of him, haha.

Great performance there. Heh, it looked like that second Double Shaolin was going to whiff? Did you think it would? The finale was perfect too, when you managed to dizzy Angra when he was on his last inch of health. Nothing beats an ending like that. (b'_')b

I want to make a demonstation video detailing this but my video editing skills are non-existant. These are Evade-Cancels, you can manipulate near enough all animation via the right stick's evade functions. Have a look at the rate of the left-right evades; slow isnt it? Now try slotting a fast jab between and then canelling the jab animation with another evade, you'll notice that whether changing direction or going the same way - the delay frames of the evade are completely removed.
