@RawrPSN same problem with myn restart your computer/laptop then start up the roxio software and then click capture once not twice and it should work sorry if it didnt work also if it work the recording might be all over the place so go to tools then the second thing and then where is say pal or whatever change it to ntcm_m I did and it works even if somewhere out of america Hope it works could you give me a sub no troll lol

I put 2 gameplays in Vegas pro, I did everything you did, it took me 8+ hours to render it (litteraly). When I was finally done the first gameplay was messed up, it was all green and stuff and really weird. The second one had very nice quality, only it lagged and the audio was messed up. Please help. This is really frustrating. Thanks.

Is there anyway to make the vegas file smaller, it takes a very long time to render :( please help if possible

@LynxWarlord You can render in "Sony AVC" and select "= internet 16:9 HD 30p" and make sure the bit rate it set to 10,000,000. This setting is a lot less graphics card/cpu intensive so it should be faster.

But if that doesn't work you could try "Main Concept mpeg-2" and select "HD 720-30p".

The finished video will look just as good as using .wmv.

What would you recommend is the best way to add a commentary to a video? I have audacity but what would Export the audio file as? Audacity gives large file sizes so should i just record my commentary in the roxio software after editing in vegas? and then upload to youtube from the roxio editing? will all that work with the importing back to roxio from vegas after the render settings you suggest here. @LynxWarlord I would record your commentary with Audacity and then export in mp3, mp2, or m4a, which ever works with your version of vegas (those will all give you small file sizes) and then sync it up with your video in Sony vegas.

how big are the file sizes for avi? and would they be they same size as an avi in virtual dub?

@MASTRofPUPPTZ86 About 100mb for a 30 second video, and there are a lot of different compressions for .avi the one you are talking about in virtual dub could be a lot smaller.

Can I record with Roxio, edit in Vegas for the quality, Import the clip back into the editing software that comes with the Roxio, and edit a montage in there. Then add audio from audacity to the montage whilst in the Roxio editing software? Reply would be nice :)

@alex4554644 Well I use Audacity, you get very good voice quality and you can easily edit it and remove noise and such, and then you can just sync it up with the video in Sony vegas.

@alex4554644 The file size for an 8 min video after editing would be about 350mb and yeah the quality would still be ok as long as after you record the commentary in the Roxio program you render it as an uncompressed .avi format and then import it into Vegas and edit and render it normally.

@CihaoHD Well, you would need an HDTV first of all, if you have one then if you are on Xbox you can go to System settings>Console settings>Display and select 1080i if you can, with Playstation 3 its pretty much the same thing execpt Display settings.
