I remember watching this when it first was on, on a sunday dinnertime and apart from it being brilliantly funny, How great it was that stuff like this was going out at that time on a sunday how liberating it was at last we can blaspheme on telly on a sunday, but not only this all the other cutting edge, post modernist even experimental stuff on tv at the time even channel 4 was good at times. now its all gone to shit on tv thank christ (ah) for the internet, vive le revolution.

The "mind of christ" argument is laughably silly. If believers have some kind of special knowledge given to them by Jesus, why don't they all agree with each other in interpreting the bible? Why are there thousands of different christian sects instead of a single church?

ProfMTH made a great video about this subject ("The Old Razzle Dazzle"). I heartily recommend watching it as it demonstrates why this argument is complete bunk.

the lack of support for a literal interpretation was one of the main theological arguments in the reformation (see luther, cranmer, zwingli, calvin ad infinitum)
