Good grief! Someone kept going flat on the refrain. Probably difficulty hearing her voice or something. Singing live is tough because of the noise onstage, but one of the harmonies was *consistently* flat on the word "roam." Ugh.

In the very late 1980s/early 90s, R.E.M., with songs like Stand and Shiny Happy People, entered a period in which it (partly) seemed most in synch with the joyous spirit of that other great Athens, Georgia band, The B52s. With some beautiful singing and thought provoking lyrics, this quirky, clever , fun 50s/early 60s inspired band ideally deserve for Roam to become as well known as Love shack because Roam is simply one of the best, and best performed, songs ever made.
