I've just spent all afternoon with my friends new labradoodle puppy... now I really want one they are so so sweet (my friend has already taught him to sit and is almost there with lie down and she has had him for one day!)
I just got one, apricot colour 9 weeks old. Perfect dogs miniature is knee high so not too small and they are really intelligent and do not molt. If you want a dog that doesnt smell or molt this is the dog.
I'm looking for one on kiji to find one near toronto but they are all dogs that are breed with a standard poodle i want a miniature goldendoodle do you know where i should check?
thats sweet. ive got a labdoole but hes no were near mini, skylar weighs 125 pounds lol. and hes too smart for his own good, thinks hes a lap dog too....
Your puppy is adorable! she's very intelligent, u are doing a great job!!
Where did you learn to train her? We just bought a Golden retriever and she bites alll the time , we cannot even walk because she'll run and start bitting my pants, how or where can I learn to start training her? What kind of treats do you buy for ur puppy?
Sorry for the questions but I want my puppy to be a good pet ...
Yeah she's great, still has her loopy doodle dash moments, but other than that, she's fantastic.
We didn't go anywhere to learn to train her, we've had dogs before, and trained them the same way, you need to be consistant with them, there's a great book called "The Perfect Puppy" by Gwen Bailey.
As for your puppy, they play with their mouth, therefore she needs to learn bite inhibition, so you have to be firm, a loud OWW when she bites/nips, and tell them "NO!" firmly, act hurt, and she'll learn.
She might get excited and try to turn it into a game, but be firm. as for special treats, she doesn't have them, we use her own food ( Burns dry food ) a treat can also be in the form of a toy too, a ball etc.
no worries about the questions. and these things take time, you have to remember they're still babies.
Good luck with the training. Let us know how it goes :)
ohmigawd! how do u do that! ihave two labradodles that r sisters, and 4 months old, they r smart but weave had them for 2 months now and they can barely sit!!
Thanks, she picks things up quickly, she's 15 months now, and has quite a few more tricks to her collection, but she's still over excitable sometimes :D I guess that's a labradoodle thing lol
Aww its cute, I am not a fan of poodles but this one is simply precious. Im kinda tearing up a bit because I just saw Marley and Me yesterday and the dude was thinking of getting a labrodoodle.
Aww, that's a lovely dog. I have a labradoodle too and her name's Daisy! My dog is really mad and playful but then again i guess all labradoodles are! Good look training Daisy.
Im gettin a labradoodle in about 2 or three days. and im soooo excited. I can wait! We alreayd got her a bed and everything! iM soooo excited! yay! :)
Thanks :) Daisy is 18" to shoulder, we've not weighed her recently, but I'd say roughly 15Kg ;) saw your vids :) great aren't they, very playful, and very good with children.
Your labradoodle is so beautiful and smart. How big is he now and how much does he weigh. I have a mini F2 and he had a bit of a recessive gene and is now 56 lbs, but still as cute as can be. If you search on youtube: Laddie Labradoodle -- you can see him playing with a balloon.
Depends on what type you get, and where you are I guess, you might have to travel far too, and they're not cheap. do a search for breaders in your area.
Hi PronkingKitty, her mum is a standard labradoodle, and her dad is a miniature poodle. so we're hoping she's going to be somewhere inbetween, and not a labradonkey :)
We know she's intelligent, and has a fantastic temprement, which we're very happy about. thanks for you're comments ;)
I don't even want to think about the mechanics of mating a miniature with a standard. Did he need a step ladder? ;)
How is her coat turning out? Mabel sort of exploded around 7 weeks old. She was relatively smooth haired until on day she looked like she put herself through the tumble dryer. It's just getting fluffier by the day. Daisy reminds me very much of Mabel at that age who is also an F1b.
Lol, I know what you mean about the mechanics of mating the two, I was going to ask their owners the same question, but thought I might sound strange enquiring about that lol ;)
Her coat is very soft and fluffy, so bit of the same there lol.
Daisy is an F2b.
Thanks for the name comment, is that refering to Daisy? or the Labradonkey? :) lol
She's an F2? So her Mum is a 2nd generation labradoodle? How cool. She must have cost quite a pretty penny. We paid quite a bit for Mabel but it was worth it knowing she came from a fabulous family who all cried like babies when their puppies left for their new homes.
Yeah, her mum's a 2nd generation, Daisy's granddad is the famous Cosmo :) and yes, she was expensive, but so far worth it, just in the lack of shedding alone, and how easily trainable she is, and how well and softly she interacts with the kids.
Are you sure she's a mini labradoodle? We have a standard labradoodle, who is now 12 weeks old, and she was the same size as Daisy when she was 8 weeks.
Daisy is absolutely adorable. Be prepared to have a hyper intelligent dog though. She'll be doing algebra next. Clever girl.
Does she shed fur or only dander?
