  • Chief Rutgers... Good luck. Drive it!

  • Thanks for the tips. My test is tomorrow morning. I'm nervous, I guess it's normal tho.

  • Fantastic! Congratulations. Drive now; text later.

  • Hey! I watched all four of these videos before my second try at my road test and passed with flying colors! Thank you so much for these videos! They helped so much!

  • That's great Kool. Congratulations! Happy motoring!

  • Thank you RockKendall. I pased my driving test on the first try and the credit goes to my dad 90% and 10% to you.

  • Jonny, thanks for commenting. While the ability to parallel park is a great one to have, it has not been tested by the California DMV for many years. If you try to be all things to all people; you won't best serve your target audience. Mine is Californians having difficulty to pass the DMV's "performance" evaluation, commonly referred to as a "road test." Good luck to you.

  • ive watched a couple a videos about parallel parking but i want them to make one

    so its more professional

  • Thanks for commenting. I'm not sure where you are. Please note that my video is intended for those in CALIFORNIA seeking to "Pass the California DMV Driver's Performance Test!" (as it says in the title at the start of Part 1 of 4 here at YouTube). The CALIFORNIA DMV does NOT test ability for "Parallel Parking or K-turns." But you would need to back up and not hit the curb; something covered here in Tip #8. Good luck to you.

  • I like how none of these mention Parallel Parking or K-turns

  • When turning right or left--scan around in all directions as if you are in a war zone. (You don't need to look up at the sky, however.) S.M.O.G. (see the video.) But on a right turn especially--because the curb is right next to you--be sure to pull forward sufficiently so that you don't turn too soon (and hit the curb with your right-rear tire). Good luck! And practice with a licensed driving school for the best outcome. You'll be a better, safer driver too!

  • my biggest thing is turning right on red light I cant tell when to turn what do I have to look for before turning idk which way the cars will be comming

  • Thanks for your comments. But this video was intended to show the 16 big reasons WHY driver license applicants FAIL. It was never my intention to show every possible reason. As for "speed limits" and other "signs"-- Gee. They are POSTED on the road and are quite self-explanatory. The video does point out (at Tip #3) that "Speed Counts" and it should be obvious that that would be in regard to not just the posted speed limit, but other conditions such as the traffic and weather. Good luck.

  • didnt talk about speed limits on school zones or signs. this video is useless

  • @chaghar the speed limit on a school zone is 25 mph

  • Pho, I'm not sure what you mean by "basic control test." But all I have at YouTube are these 4 segments of my 32-minute DVD "Rock Kendall's Road Test Tips." My 2-page tips on California's written test may be found at my website. Simply Google "Rock Kendall's Written Test Tips."

  • do you have tips for basic control test

  • Comment removed

  • In soviet Russia car drive you? And yea it's illegal to drive anywhere near your test site in new York. Mines in 2 days and I just need to learn parrallel parking and I'm a guy so multi tasking is hard so I can't talk to the dude when driving

  • You're most welcome. Thank you for the kind words. Once you get your license, be picky about when, where and how you drive (minimize driving in the rain and at night if possible). Good luck!

  • thanks for this video...your tips are a big help!

  • Do I grant the right of way to on coming traffics when chaning from the left lane to the right lane?? please i really need help. Do I let them go first or how can I tell if they are far enough that i can change lane properly. This is just a 2 lanes traveling in the same direction.

  • Hey if I'm making a right turn, and there is a long truck in front of me, do I move to the next lane to the left of the lane I am in so that I do not get squished?

  • Rock you rock. I'll practice diligently. This was actually a great video. Jesus loves you all :D

  • This was a very helpfull video thank you very much

  • I failed my first road test and then a day before my second test I watched this video 3 times, and I passed my test!! I wish I would have known about these videos before I took my first test! Thank you!!!

  • I will be taking it for the second time in a few weeks and I review this daily thanks :)

  • im taking my road test tomorrow for the second time, this helped me learn more things i needed to know thank you for posting it =D

  • hye, I had my test in october, and I passed it with just error!! Thank you Rock Kendall. Your videos were very helpful and I will benefit from it whenever i will drive.

  • This was very helpful I made 2 mistakes and I have to reschedule and do my test over now this helped me great video :)

  • Thank you for your kind comments. Please consider lessons from a driving school as my video is not meant to replace behind-the-wheel instruction. In any event, good luck!

  • Great videos! These were EXTREMELY helpful. One suggestion: When on YouTube, drivers watch these all over the world. Please specify regional-specific instructions where appropriate.

  • Thanks James! My video's full title is: "Rock Kendall's Road Test Tips--Pass the California DMV Driver Performance Test." So it is intentionally specific to California. For example, the DMV here does not test parallel parking anymore. If my video were to get into other "regional-specific instructions" it would be much longer than the 30-minutes that it is now; and it would dilute, rather than enhance, value to California drivers.

  • i love your video they are very helpful my roadtest is trommow =S it's goin to be my last one . if i fail i have to do allover again =[

  • when pulling up to parallel park do u signal left then when ur in the spot u signal right am i right?

  • This is wonderful. Thank you very much.

Just one question, do we need to know how to do parallel parking? I m bad in it.

  • Thank you for commenting. In CALIFORNIA, you will be required to back up (as shown in the video); but not parallel park. At least that is the way it has been in recent years.

  • Thank God Canada and the US share the same road techniques. This is probably one of the best driving videos on Youtube. Big thanks to those who made it!

  • So nervous lol =P
