As the electorate becomes less white and less religious these midterm elections won't mean much. Republicans won't benefit-Democrats seem to not grasp an opportunity.
The only difference between this and the 2010 elections is Republicans gained control of the Senate, as well as the House, in 1994 while they only gained the House in 2010, but by a larger margin
@bjoh249 I do not worship anybody but Jesus Christ. You, on the other hand, are a false Christian. Just look at yourself. You think so highly of yourself that you think you get to say who believes in what. Go crucify yourself, you piece of shit.
@bjoh249 Yeah, Perot took votes away from Clinton. That much is obvious. But he swept very Republican states. The economy wasn't great under Reagan or Clinton at this point in their terms, but both won by large margins. Even Gallup shows nothing out of the ordinary when it comes to traditional approval ratings at this point in the presidencies.
The problem with HCR was that it didn't go far enough, and prove a public option, which most Americans support.
@bjoh249 Nope. Obama's appeased many Republicans throughout his two years, whether it's extending unconstitutional bills like the Patriot Act, continuing expensive wars, or opening bipartisan meetings and summits. He got elected because people were sick of Bush's failed policies, and because Americans were not getting what they wanted at the snap of their fingers, they wanted "change" again. The media had been campaigning against Democrats for the past two years, and people fell for that.
@VoiceHunter Oh my goodness, your messiah Obama was not running against Bush in 2008. Bush hasn't been the President for almost two years. Get over it. Obama sucks!
@bjoh249 No, not Bush per se. Just over 90% of George Bush, which is John McCain's voting record. For the past two years, the media has been doing nothing but report what's bad about the Democrats, what's good for the Republicans, why the Republicans should be hopeful, how great the teabaggers are... every little thing. The only reason why the Dems lost the House was because of the media.
2010 looks very similar to 94. The only difference the Republicans won't take the Senate, but they also needed 9 seats to take the Senate including taking over a lot of blue states. Seeing PA and IL turning red is huge, but I am not surprised they couldn't take CA. I am hoping Obama sees the results asa message he needs to work with both sides and not try to push his ideas as the only and right way.
@gopconservative78 no you just sound stupid... How can u say Clinton surrendered to Osama Bin Laden and Bush never caught him and also said his last week in office he doesn't even know where he is... so who's really surrendering or just scared???!!! Yeah thats what i thought.
Clinton, though he was a liberal at heart, was a smart politician. He knew how to pivot and co-opt some of the Republican's good ideas. Obama and the current congress are simply incapable of compromise. Good. Let the American voter see just how arrogant, out of touch and contemptuous Obama and the Democratic leadership is of them.
Democrats must be crushed

It's amazing how little times have changed. The only difference is that back then, the News was actually neutral and objective.
