@realgocool1 In Japan, they'd probably make a decent profit, but I'm not too sure about how sales would go in the west - EarthBound, for example, sold pretty poorly over here (although now that the series has more publicity, sales could go over well.) Nintendo just isn't the type of company to remake games very frequently. They only remake games with "Mario" or "Pokemon" in the title.

The marginal costs of releasing this game outside of Japan (what with the transvestites harming Ninty's "family-friendly" image and a couple possible cases of copyright infringement), at least from NoA's perspective, would greatly outweigh the marginal revenues to be had from a small group of hardcore fans.

I say I speak for all of us Mother fans that Nintendo should be focusing on also their other Franchises. Rumor said that a new Kid Icarus game would come about a couple years ago but stil not here. We have enough Mario and Zelda for a while. We need the others to be known as well! So stuff like this could actually be made. The mother series is something topple the Zelda series to me. I was blown away by Ocarina of time and the mother series left me cryin of the greatness of it.
