I wonder how all the Liberals are feeling, now that we all have a better take and how Rudd will shape government? Along with his record high 70% approval ratings.
I'm now very happy with the change of government for many many reasons.
Sunday Telee ey, I think that tabloid has been canned on Media Watch quite a few times for tacky, ideological and partisan journalism.

Every person who votes in our great Western democracies whether they believe in Atheism, Agnosticism, Paganism, Christianity, Buddhism, Islam, Taoism and Judaism to name a few have a right to express their views through their faiths. History teaches that those leaders, politicians or soldiers who disregards the people's religious views do so at his or hers own peril. You cannot disenfranchise the large majorities of faith believers from any societies without consequences
Please accept the fact that politics are changing in Australia, the religious groups want to be heard, because they also represent a considerable portion of Australian's any politician who ignores this fact does it to his own detriment.
Either way steveascension, you're way too religious for my liking. Religion doesn't, and never should, play a role in politics. It rots the brain and twists everything into one point of view. I admire politicians who don't fall to religious groups.
But let me say that labour & the greens are paranoid about the money this group is spending. Personally I would like to see more money being spent by all our nations' religious groups in elections. Please if it's good enough for trade unions to electioneer, it's surely good enough for any other groups within society to participate in our great democracy. For too long religious groups have been marginalized and ignored in elections.
Please get a hold of yourself. New labour has moved so far to the right that's it hoping and conniving to put in the lodge the richest Prime ministerial couple in the history of Australian politics. Please you are pushing neo conservative labour huskers. There would be so many old real labour greats turning in their graves with what is happening with the new labour party. As far as your assumptions go "no" I am not a member of that group.
Notice the royal 'we'. Rudd didn't accept any blame here. He didn't accept that he did anything wrong.
"We" could have handled it better. "We" have to turn a new leaf. This man can't accept blame no matter how obvious it is that he's done something wrong. Can't remember seeing boobs at a strip club because he was too drunk, but wasn't too drunk to know he needed to phone his wife and apologise the next morning.
The demonizing and extreme lack of tolerance for this religious group smacks of a political conspiracy by the desperate Labour Party. One has to then question how far the labour leader Kevin Rudd would go beyond demonizing any religious group that may impede his election chances. Freedom of Religion under Kevin Rudd will be not safe.
These anti Exclusive Brethren outbursts by Kevin Rudd are very interesting and disturbing because they parallel and reflect an interesting social paradigm; a historical model first enacted by the Nazi propaganda machine against the Jews.
Oh PLEASE, are you completely out of your mind? Let me guess.. you are PART of the Exclusive Brethren? They are a neo-conservative isolationist cult which encourages it's members NOT TO VOTE (Voting is of course, compulsory in Australia) and yet then goes out of it's way to influence who wins government. It's pathetic.

ThE Satanic scumbag Howard has the whole cowardly Australian Media in his pocket ,when this Rat is booted out the (Media) should be questioned by a special court - something similar to the Nuremberg trials
so they will not be allowed to say that they were just following orders. They are as guilty as this War Criminal.
Kevin Rudd still doesn't answer the question, much the same as his alleged policies. The ironic thing is, the media are in love with this John Denver look alike mother fucker. Fuck you Rudd, fuck you very much.
As Peter Costello descibed inheriting Labor's $80 billion debt and a million Aussies unable to find a job, wages at rock bottom, interest more than double current levels: "It was like cleaning up after the kids". As Ronald Reagan once put it " If you don't mention my age, I won't mention your inexperience". THINK before you throw the current good times away.
you are so right, trouble is that a lot of voters are too young to remember what labor did to this country - in a worldwide boom, we "had to have" a recession? & kevin07 would be the least experienced pm in our history if he got in, like a kindy teacher lecturing at uni....
yeh thats exactly where youth will go wrong. "kevin rudd is mad, so we are going to vote for him, but i dont have a mortgage but i dont really care about the world anyway - just myself". (mentality of a youth) kevin rudd is a fake doing all he can by talking it up and using big words, telling everyone that their lives are shit because there has been interest rate rises - lets see how much they go up when labor get in after nov 24th. rectumstreatcherRUDD07
It's funny everyone is complaining about % rise - it rose because our economy is strong - how terrible - and the $ keeps improving which will lower petrol, I'm not worried about my mortgage unless labor get in, they'll run up debt and the $ will fall, petrol will rise and our economy will be in the toilet trying to fund their pie in the sky environmental policies which have been irresponsible and unproven - if he gets in to the PM's office, our country will turn to KRUDD...sloppy, sloppy KRUDD.
And he is responsible for the good life you have at present, be greatfull-if you were old enough you would with nausea remember the last labor government
and howard is the worst prime minister of all time he makes menzies look almost human!!! almost
i hate labor as much as you do aamosen and i really think rudd is as bad as coward, oh i mean howard.
aamosen you wanna laugh? i got called a libral party stooge all because i was laughing at linsay tanners creepy head!! bahahahha look him up and laugh along
If you think our civil liberties are worse than China's you should go there and check it out. For the record we lost over 500 soldiers in Vietnam, so far in Iraqi none in combat. And the moment the government of Iraqi ask us to leave, within 24 hrs we shall be gone.
And ME the halfwit would maintain if your life are no-good under our present conditions, you will have problems and be miserable for the rest of your life—Sorry Mate
well maybe we lost only '500' soldiers (doubt this but i actually dont know so ill have to take your word for it mate) but how many innocent people did we have a hand in killing? do you aprove of the vietnam war? do you think we or the vietnamese gained anything from it? we got our sorry arse kicked!!!
and what iraqi goverment u twit? its an americ*nt puppet regime u idiot! and ermm i have just come back from chine you stupid libral apologist!!
I never said only 500 I said over and was wrong it was 500. It was North Vietnam attacking South Vietnam with The North prevailing, so no I don't think anyone in Vietnam gained anything quite the opposite
As far as the Iraqi government concern, you don't like them, but it is the government the people of Iraqi elected, so their choice not yours which is important Spend some money on a book called a dictionary, here you will find many other words apart from, idiot, stupid.ass, twit, halfwit
I am old enough to remember Hawke/Keating and I was never unemployed like my Dad as he was during the Fraser years and no one ever tried to coerce me into an AWA agreement when there was a labor government. Since Howard I have less disposable income, mortgage, fuel, food cost all higher under Howard. So no I would not say I am better off especially with his new IR laws always with the threat of dismissal because you disagree with employer over safety or work conditions or hours.
Your father was unemployed under the Fraser Government, I can understand that, Whitlams demolition of Australia caused untold misery years after he departed, high unemployment, high interest rates, it took years to correct, and although Fraser made a good start he did not complete the job before he lost to Hawke.
So after 8 years of reform by Fraser, unemployment & inflation is higher than before he started, an improvement? So how much time does it take before reforms start to work? Interest rates, inflation & unemployment even at highest under Hawke/Keating were lower than under Fraser & after 13 years of Labor, interest rates were lower then, than under Howard now, the $A hit lowest ever under Howard. Labor reforms open up the commodity market with China, which now Aust is benefiting so much by now.
In some way you are right Fraser was not much value, Hawke no better & Keating worst of all --It took a team like Howard and Costello to bring things back in order, lowest inflation in memory, lowest unemployment in 40 years, and on top of that Howard & Costello in 10 short years paid off 90 Billion of dept the Australian government had raked up as loan to other countries.
Interest under Hawke/ Keating around 17%,Howard/Costello have brought that down to around 7-8%.
learn a little bit about economics. interest rates are bad for mums and dads if they are high but it doesnt mean economies are stronger or weaker, its a break on the gas peddle depending on where the economy is set by the independent RBA.
AND NOT ADMINISTERED BY HOWARD OR COSTELLO.
Read OZONOMICS to get the real story free of spin.
So you don't believe government policy have any impact on interest rate, take a very extreme case Zimbabwe, The Government policy there altered that country's interest rate from a modest 10-11% to around 15000% in around 25 years.
This is also free of any spin, and is reality for all to see, Government policy make a difference
Sure Whitlam started all that, what he didn't start or maintain was an economy able to pay for it. Hence my comment that he caused untold misery to Australia long after he departed-I was there, I felt it, and together with millions of other Australians paid for it.
I have a feeling your admiration for him come from books, not from experience him with your own livelihood at stake.
Your higher mortgage are caused by much to high prices for land mainly because state Government do not release enough of it, and when they do, having so many charges added to the cost of buying a house that it is most unfair. If you are caught in that I feel sorry for you but be fair you should not blame Howard for the incompetence of state government.
Majority of State own land lays out side the metropolitan areas, so what good would releasing this land do. It won't reduce prices in the suburbs where the demand for housing is the greatest.
It is the state Governments duty to plan ahead, select sites for future development, install roads, railways, water, electricity to those sites, build schools, hospitals and all other amenities required for people to move there, this is what state government is supposed to do, and if the available land at
present is outside the current metropolitan area ,well Sydney just expanded—Parramatta once upon a time also was out there somewhere in the country.
Sure interest rate are set by RBA independent of what the Government think they should be, but the reason why the interest move is because of the government policy I.e. Give a tax cut, and there is more money around hence more pressure on interest, create high unemployment and one can be sure interest will fall, this is basic stuff, so yes in the last budget the tax cut did put pressure on interest, so have the full employment created by the Liberal-- more money around more pressure.
Is that right? I don't put much stock in Oakes ever since I heard Howard use the phrase Glass Jaw then the next night on 9 News heard Oakes parrot the phrase himself for the 6pm bulletin. Oakes, Shannahan and Bolt should all take a cold shower together!
Rudd apologised, and accepted responsibility for the matter, which demonstrates unquestionable character. Howard, on the other hand, is 'never wrong', never apologises, and never accepts responsibility (as he is 'never' told) for anything. Enough of the attempted character assasination - the difference between Rudd and Howard is crystal clear.
He really has a temper. Apparently he abuses people left right and centre regarding anything and everything. Food on aircraft, the temperature of his beverages. Is this true, and if so he should apologise as there is no excuse to treat anyone in this fashion i don't care who you are.

(mentality of a youth) kevin rudd is a fake doing all he can by talking it up and using big words, telling everyone that their lives are shit because there has been interest rate rises - lets see how much they go up when labor get in after nov 24th. rectumstreatcherRUDD07

It's funny everyone is complaining about % rise - it rose because our economy is strong - how terrible - and the $ keeps improving which will lower petrol, I'm not worried about my mortgage unless labor get in, they'll run up debt and the $ will fall, petrol will rise and our economy will be in the toilet trying to fund their pie in the sky environmental policies which have been irresponsible and unproven - if he gets in to the PM's office, our country will turn to KRUDD...sloppy, sloppy KRUDD.

aamosen you wanna laugh? i got called a libral party stooge all because i was laughing at linsay tanners creepy head!! bahahahha look him up and laugh along
EDGARPICO 4 years ago
If you think our civil liberties are worse than China's you should go there and check it out. For the record we lost over 500 soldiers in Vietnam, so far in Iraqi none in combat. And the moment the government of Iraqi ask us to leave, within 24 hrs we shall be gone.
And ME the halfwit would maintain if your life are no-good under our present conditions, you will have problems and be miserable for the rest of your life—Sorry Mate
aamosen 4 years ago
well maybe we lost only '500' soldiers (doubt this but i actually dont know so ill have to take your word for it mate) but how many innocent people did we have a hand in killing? do you aprove of the vietnam war? do you think we or the vietnamese gained anything from it? we got our sorry arse kicked!!!
and what iraqi goverment u twit? its an americ*nt puppet regime u idiot! and ermm i have just come back from chine you stupid libral apologist!!
eat my ass
EDGARPICO 4 years ago

So no I would not say I am better off especially with his new IR laws always with the threat of dismissal because you disagree with employer over safety or work conditions or hours.
furrydogie 4 years ago
Your father was unemployed under the Fraser Government, I can understand that, Whitlams demolition of Australia caused untold misery years after he departed, high unemployment, high interest rates, it took years to correct, and although Fraser made a good start he did not complete the job before he lost to Hawke.
aamosen 4 years ago
So after 8 years of reform by Fraser, unemployment & inflation is higher than before he started, an improvement? So how much time does it take before reforms start to work? Interest rates, inflation & unemployment even at highest under Hawke/Keating were lower than under Fraser & after 13 years of Labor, interest rates were lower then, than under Howard now, the $A hit lowest ever under Howard. Labor reforms open up the commodity market with China, which now Aust is benefiting so much by now.
furrydogie 4 years ago
In some way you are right Fraser was not much value, Hawke no better & Keating worst of all --It took a team like Howard and Costello to bring things back in order, lowest inflation in memory, lowest unemployment in 40 years, and on top of that Howard & Costello in 10 short years paid off 90 Billion of dept the Australian government had raked up as loan to other countries.
Interest under Hawke/ Keating around 17%,Howard/Costello have brought that down to around 7-8%.
aamosen 4 years ago
learn a little bit about economics. interest rates are bad for mums and dads if they are high but it doesnt mean economies are stronger or weaker, its a break on the gas peddle depending on where the economy is set by the independent RBA.
AND NOT ADMINISTERED BY HOWARD OR COSTELLO.
Read OZONOMICS to get the real story free of spin.

Fatasticini.
So you don't believe government policy have any impact on interest rate, take a very extreme case Zimbabwe, The Government policy there altered that country's interest rate from a modest 10-11% to around 15000% in around 25 years.
This is also free of any spin, and is reality for all to see, Government policy make a difference

aamosen - whitlam caused untold misery like free education and free healthcare by starting things we take for granted today like MEDICARE!
numpty.
fantasticini 4 years ago 2
Sure Whitlam started all that, what he didn't start or maintain was an economy able to pay for it. Hence my comment that he caused untold misery to Australia long after he departed-I was there, I felt it, and together with millions of other Australians paid for it.
I have a feeling your admiration for him come from books, not from experience him with your own livelihood at stake.

Furrydogie:
Your higher mortgage are caused by much to high prices for land mainly because state Government do not release enough of it, and when they do, having so many charges added to the cost of buying a house that it is most unfair. If you are caught in that I feel sorry for you but be fair you should not blame Howard for the incompetence of state government.
aamosen 4 years ago
Majority of State own land lays out side the metropolitan areas, so what good would releasing this land do. It won't reduce prices in the suburbs where the demand for housing is the greatest.
furrydogie 4 years ago
It is the state Governments duty to plan ahead, select sites for future development, install roads, railways, water, electricity to those sites, build schools, hospitals and all other amenities required for people to move there, this is what state government is supposed to do, and if the available land at
present is outside the current metropolitan area ,well Sydney just expanded—Parramatta once upon a time also was out there somewhere in the country.
aamosen 4 years ago
but if howard claims to be the master of the interest rates and they go awry then who by definition should the electorate blame?
fantasticini 4 years ago
Sure interest rate are set by RBA independent of what the Government think they should be, but the reason why the interest move is because of the government policy I.e. Give a tax cut, and there is more money around hence more pressure on interest, create high unemployment and one can be sure interest will fall, this is basic stuff, so yes in the last budget the tax cut did put pressure on interest, so have the full employment created by the Liberal-- more money around more pressure.

Laurie Oaks is a fat slug. Kevin Rudd had a job of cleaning Oak's house when he was studying at Uni in Canberra.

Is that right? I don't put much stock in Oakes ever since I heard Howard use the phrase Glass Jaw then the next night on 9 News heard Oakes parrot the phrase himself for the 6pm bulletin. Oakes, Shannahan and Bolt should all take a cold shower together!

Yes, to Rudd's credit he admitted that they were wrong about it. Let's hope he gets over it sooner rather than later.

Rudd = Un-Australian disgrace.
Youtoplet 4 years ago
why?
nabiji 4 years ago
Rudd apologised, and accepted responsibility for the matter, which demonstrates unquestionable character. Howard, on the other hand, is 'never wrong', never apologises, and never accepts responsibility (as he is 'never' told) for anything. Enough of the attempted character assasination - the difference between Rudd and Howard is crystal clear.
