I am from Missouri I agree with you wholeheartedly, but you need to add a few things.
1) In Missouri the mother of my children, who is the "custodial parent" by default, because she collects food stamps and tannif(state support in the form of a cash card). She can go into the Division of Child Support Enforcement(DCSE) and simply state the amount that I owe her. Which is a lie, no evidence needed. Yet to refute this I need receipts of payment or signed affidavits against her word
National Child Support Act? BOYCOTT! Especially if you are not allowed to see your children, no see, no pay. If one parent can not afford to care for the children then both fit and willing parents need to be actively involved in their children's lives. Too many parents, especially fathers who want to spend time with their children are denied and the only reason is the Social Security Act's Title IV-D funding. The Federal Government is funding the destruction of the American family.
What is child support? Both of my parents paid child support yet they were never divorced, how could that be? The true meaning of child support is not dollars as the courts, state and federal government want you to believe. The true meaning of child support is spending time with your child, reading a book, riding bikes, playing games, going for pizza, helping with homework, just being there and showing them that you really do care, THAT is the true meaning of child support.
Every study ever conducted anywhere, and there are hundreds, clearly states that our children need both fit and willing parents to share equally in their lives. Children do not want money, the court does! Children want our love, our time, they want us to pay attention and they thrive on the love of both parents.
Two parents equals twice the love, what carrying being would deny a child the love of both parents? Only those who generate income from separating children from their parents.
This country's "Daddy Tax" is nothing less than extortion. The interest you reference is a scam, interest is owed on money borrowed but this money is never loaned! Why then is there interest charged on money that does not change hands? Federal funding through the Social Security Act's Title IV-D is why.
Why are 84.4% of all non custodial parents the father? Chances are he works and the court finds it easy to separate him from his children and then tell him Child Support is his duty.
I think about the jobs that are out there for the majority of working people and I see a system where the least amount of pay is offered and yet so much of that pay is used just for rent, food and transportation. Don't tell someone who can barely pay those things after having to leave his home that he is a deadbeat for not paying the court ordered support. It saddens me that these men must go into debt, especially if they want to spend any time with their kids.

My suggestion was an effort to get a pay scale going to kids that doesn't KILL the fathers. They work, and feel good about doing the best they can. And the KIDS know that daddy is out there.

Also they gave me 12 years deferred for 4 counts of criminal non support. Where is the justice in that? I had to hire an attorney for which I had to borrow money or they for surely would of handed me a lengthy prison sentence. The child support laws are in favor of the woman period..

Child support laws are made by local, state & fed. politicians, NOT BY THE COURTS. Too many times we NCPs, men, are force to capitulate to a blatantly unjust child support system for fear of going to jail or losing one's drivers license, etc. That has got to stop! Safe havens allow moms to legally abandon babies from birth without consent of any kind from the dad. Nor does she has to sign away her rights if someone else is willing to take over as the parent or give any kind of name of reason for doing it. But if the father abandons the child he is subject to being held up for child support and all the other consequences that come with it. That is called double standard and inequality. Fathers should have the same right to legal abandonment as the mom.

In family court I saw cases where women were on the 3 or 4th baby daddy. A lot of women intentionally get pregnant by different numbers of men so they could use child support as passive income. So who is the bad one in this situation? If government was not in there corner they would think twice before having multiple kids.

Whats left but to just end it. Have not been able to find work since 2008. New wife has to pay for everything, last time I was in court to lower support it went up. Now I pay att fees, medical and her att fee's. My wife had to take out a lone for our att just to keep me from going to jail. I cant afford to do anything with my daughter. We will not find justice at the hands of corrupt judges. First off, children have a legal right to receive money from both parents, regardless of who has custody. Women should be made to work and pay their share. Second, when the pay-or loses his/her job to no fault of their own, they need what little money they saved to get by for a while. 3rd, as long as the woman does not contribute, the father should get to claim his child on his taxes as a dependent. Men should get a receipt on everything the mom purchases, she can't sell/give away those items.
It is horrible what the system is doing to men, and the system, but we need to not bash women for what legislation and the courts are doing to us. I think it is time that men band together and start a real movement. I think men should pay child support, but the laws need to be heavily reformed and revised. No man or woman should be able to take advantage of men or the system in these situations. Nobody should ever get locked up for a debt they are struggling to pay when they are trying either.

Hey folks I a got a great Idea. let all learn the law, especially the law of void. Do know what that is?? Well , simply put. most all civil judgments are void, ie no good, and that includes child support. Take my advise form a legal study group for noncustodial parents, put a stop to the fraud and then you take care of your kids on your own. It gonna be great, your a real parent again, kids have both parents, again and mom and the state will learn to behave themselves.

When child support is used as a tool of humiliation towards a father, which it is, even the fact it takes place in court is proof of that, then the laws become biased and the focus remains on humiliating and continuing the impossible circumstances of the "deadbeat dad" over dealing with the needs of the children which are more than just monetary. You said your in the state of Texas you would know that a person the has to pay if they have a job it is taken out of the check by the state of Texas , now if you work under the table then u need to have your boss take that out of your check for you. The children suffer tremendously when the father, usually heartbroken and broke as the mother takes up with whoever, is crushed under huge support payments he cannot afford if he tries to stay involved in his child's life. I agree. You can't pay anything when in prison and if you go to jail for it that ought to at least count for something, DAMN. Isn't that the place people go to repay their debts to society. Haven't we suffered enough, when things don't work out and when things get out of control and the economy is not even able to give a descent living wage to begin with. The other day I got a "Father's Day" card from the state. It was pontificating on how children who have "involved" fathers do so much better. With it was a reminder to pay your support to the state. Trouble is, with the % amount they expect, it is so much easier to cut off relations and just make those crushing payments without the burden of keeping two households and spending other time and money too. It's the way the system is set up. Choice is: Make payments or be a dad and go into debt
Nothing should be deducted from any payment, nor should interest be added ever. If the Judges made the money that an average guy that gets ordered to pay this does. He or she would have a different opinion of what is fair when payday rolled around. Judges are so pompous anyway because they are so above everyone mentally and financially for the most part. They are not in touch with reality of living day to day struggles with paying bills and jobs that aren't guaranteed like they have.

Im going through this 2day as a matter of fact. Yes Texas has tacked on over 5,000 usd in interest. I ve been homeless on the streets making pennies. Not even enough to support myself for the past 2 years. Then a blessing was sent my way called a Pell Grant that has allowed me to go to school. Currently getting my certification in welding tech. 1 more semester to go and the state of Texas has dropped the hammer on me wanting whatever leftover financial aid from my school. What good am i in jail
I don't know where this guy has been , but they already steal child support out of mens checks! We don't need a National Child Support Act, we need to pass , then strenously enforce a proposed federal law. That law is the UPREPA Uniform Parental Rights Enforcement and Protection Act. This law abolishes the civil cause of custody, ie judicial kidnapping is outlawed. You have to make a private arrangement and that reestablished the legal balance and the lack of that balance is the problem.

The only way to make this system fair is to let the parents work it out and take the state out of it. Of course women will always cry about it because they always feel like they are entitled to receive money for just being women (i.g. if Tiger Woods got divorced his ex would expect $30,000 + a month even though there is no way it takes this much to provide for a child).
Back in 2001 I was served court papers in TX for back child support for the state of AZ for the time my mother had my children collecting welfare while I joined the Army.TX had at the time a 12% interest on any back support owed.Then a couple years later it was redusted to 6% but I had to go to court and request it to be lowered, then they wanted me to pay the court fees.The % they said went into a pot and when AZ says they got all there money mom would get the pot.She just passed now what?

When my son was 16yrs old - his mom opened a case against me - I was supposedly behind 28K. I hired an attorney paid the jerk $10K, he missed a couple of telephonic court confrences - a judgement was handed down for $48K. The case was to be transfered from Oregon to L.A. Co. - somehow it got lost for 2 years (the county sent me a zero bal) 2 yrs later I get a bill for $69K - I hired another attoney $12K, he did nothing. She levied my bank 2 x for $17K - so I've paid $39K & still have a 69K bal!
my boyfriend has joint disicion making and joint custody and still pays 1,000 dollars a month! the error in his case was that SHE was primary in order for it to really be 50/50 you would have to have joint PHYSYCAL custody....and even then...if the father makes more, he still has to pay!
"ajaned32" true. 50/50 joint custody has to be 182.5 days a year to the Mother and 182.5 days to the Father. Than the income is taken in to consideration. If one parent makes so much more than the other parent than one is ordered to pay a monthly payment to ensure that the child gets the same quality of life when he/she is with either parent.

20% of ur income goes to 1 child, so if u make 1 mill a week, $200,000 goes to ur child a week.
some here argue no 400$ is not enough or 400 is enough a month.
and 5% as a transaction fee, and 10% as collecting the money is added in the original payment. who gets the 15% of the payment!? CSA no wonder why they push on Child support.

What do you think about today's crisis in relation to child support? If a man is laid off and cannot find a job, then he is still penalized to the max. The system is cruel as I see it. I am in this predicament I just mentioned. I'm glad to pay it but isn't there some leeway to today's situation? It seems that this will feed into the crisis.
Of course a childs needs "DO NOT" stop. Like I said, "I AM GLAD TO PAY". But today, yes there should be some leeway, and there IS some leeway due to this crisis as I found out, because it would be national suicide if the system takes drastic action. Of course it all depends on the situation. I will GLADLY pay what I accrue. The point I was making was that obviously today there are no good jobs in my area. So obviously this will affect those who pay child support.
So, as one looks for work while attempting to pay a mortgage, a car payment, and child support by way of EDD, the reality of losing a home that could be left for that child will be lost. That is the dilemma that is often over looked. Doesn't the state consider this? I understand that there are deadbeat dads who don't want to pay a single penny. Not all men are like this and that's a fact.
My son's child support was recently raised to $948 per mo. His coniving ex called and said she was divorcing her new hubby, got him to send her $500 and then took the money and treated the new buy to dinner! The gov't needs to get a grip! It you girls can't support the kids give 'em BACK to the ex husbands! Who gave you exclusive rights over the kids anyway?

My fit is the time issue. Agentcies wait, until they are a certain amount behind. Usually an overhelming amount. It is one thing to get a couple of pay checks behind, most can catch up. The argument is against a system that charges interest on monies in arrearage and takes that interest from payments prior to taking care of the obligation to the custodial parent. I can give you this argument. I was the wife, who did not remarry, but went back to school and took a professional job. The ex was determined, not to pay child support, to the court what so ever. He ducked, dodged, and evaded support for the last 15 years. Now, because he was on the run, the back child support has kept tallying up. He is now locked up, $41,308 behind, on just our youngest child. The others and amounts were split off when they turned 18. Total: 124,681.

1) In Missouri the mother of my children, who is the "custodial parent" by default, because she collects food stamps and tannif(state support in the form of a cash card). I think about the jobs that are out there for the majority of working people and I see a system where the least amount of pay is offered and yet so much of that pay is used just for rent, food and transportation. Don't tell someone who can barely pay those things after having to leave his home that he is a deadbeat for not paying the court ordered support. It saddens me that these men must go into debt, especially if they want to spend any time with their kids.

My suggestion was an effort to get a pay scale going to kids that doesn't KILL the fathers. They work, and feel good about doing the best they can. And the KIDS know that daddy is out there.

Child support laws are made by local, state & fed. politicians, NOT BY THE COURTS. Too many times we NCPs, men, are force to capitulate to a blatantly unjust child support system for fear of going to jail or losing one's drivers license, etc. That has got to stop! The politicians that let these "laws" remain on the books without revisiting them should fear for their jobs and livelyhood just as us NCPs have to fear for our livehood. Safe havens allow moms to legally abandon babies from birth without consent of any kind from the dad. Nor does she has to sign away her rights if someone else is willing to take over as the parent or give any kind of name of reason for doing it. But if the father abandons the child he is subject to being held up for child support and all the other consequences that come with it. That is called double standard and inequality. Fathers should have the same right to legal abandonment as the mom.

In family court I saw cases where women were on the 3 or 4th baby daddy. A lot of women intentionally get pregnant by different numbers of men so they could use child support as passive income. Whats left but to just end it. Have not been able to find work since 2008. New wife has to pay for everything, last time I was in court to lower support it went up. Now I pay att fees, medical and her att fee's. My wife had to take out a lone for our att just to keep me from going to jail. I cant afford to do anything with my daughter. I can't buy her close or feed her. I havent seen her in 7 mo cause I cant afford gas to pick her up. Just waiting to go to jail.....Texas is a whore.

First off, children have a legal right to receive money from both parents, regardless of who has custody. Women should be made to work and pay their share. Second, when the pay-or loses his/her job to no fault of their own, they need what little money they saved to get by for a while. 3rd, as long as the woman does not contribute, the father should get to claim his child on his taxes as a dependent. Men should get a receipt on everything the mom purchases, she can't sell/give away those items.

I think it is time that men band together and start a real movement. I think men should pay child support, but the laws need to be heavily reformed and revised. No man or woman should be able to take advantage of men or the system in these situations. Nobody should ever get locked up for a debt they are struggling to pay when they are trying either.

Hey folks I a got a great Idea. let all learn the law, especially the law of void. Do know what that is?? Well , simply put. most all civil judgments are void, ie no good, and that includes child support. Take my advise form a legal study group for noncustodial parents, put a stop to the fraud and then you take care of your kids on your own. It gonna be great, your a real parent again, kids have both parents, again and mom and the state will learn to behave themselves.

When child support is used as a tool of humiliation towards a father, which it is, even the fact it takes place in court is proof of that, then the laws become biased and the focus remains on humiliating and continuing the impossible circumstances of the "deadbeat dad" over dealing with the needs of the children which are more than just monetary. You said your in the state of Texas you would know that a person the has to pay if they have a job it is taken out of the check by the state of Texas , now if you work under the table then u need to have your boss take that out of your check for you. It don't matter if you have a new wife and kids, what about the ones you had first, make the the new wife work because you have a oblagation to you children that came first. The children suffer tremendously when the father, usually heartbroken and broke as the mother takes up with whoever, is crushed under huge support payments he cannot afford if he tries to stay involved in his child's life. I agree. You can't pay anything when in prison and if you go to jail for it that ought to at least count for something, DAMN. Isn't that the place people go to repay their debts to society. Haven't we suffered enough, when things don't work out and when things get out of control and the economy is not even able to give a descent living wage to begin with. Someone needs to address this problem. The children suffer too because Daddy is in Jail.

The other day I got a "Father's Day" card from the state. It was pontificating on how children who have "involved" fathers do so much better. With it was a reminder to pay your support to the state. Trouble is, with the % amount they expect, it is so much easier to cut off relations and just make those crushing payments without the burden of keeping two households and spending other time and money too. It's the way the system is set up. Choice is: Make payments or be a dad and go into debt

Nothing should be deducted from any payment, nor should interest be added ever. If the Judges made the money that an average guy that gets ordered to pay this does. He or she would have a different opinion of what is fair when payday rolled around. Judges are so pompous anyway because they are so above everyone mentally and financially for the most part. They are not in touch with reality of living day to day struggles with paying bills and jobs that aren't guaranteed like they have.

Im going through this 2day as a matter of fact. Yes Texas has tacked on over 5,000 usd in interest. I ve been homeless on the streets making pennies. Not even enough to support myself for the past 2 years. Then a blessing was sent my way called a Pell Grant that has allowed me to go to school. I don't know where this guy has been , but they already steal child support out of mens checks! We don't need a National Child Support Act, we need to pass , then strenously enforce a proposed federal law. That law is the UPREPA Uniform Parental Rights Enforcement and Protection Act. This law abolishes the civil cause of custody, ie judicial kidnapping is outlawed. You have to make a private arrangement and that reestablished the legal balance and the lack of that balance is the problem.

The only way to make this system fair is to let the parents work it out and take the state out of it. Of course women will always cry about it because they always feel like they are entitled to receive money for just being women (i.g. if Tiger Woods got divorced his ex would expect $30,000 + a month even though there is no way it takes this much to provide for a child).

Back in 2001 I was served court papers in TX for back child support for the state of AZ for the time my mother had my children collecting welfare while I joined the Army.TX had at the time a 12% interest on any back support owed.Then a couple years later it was redusted to 6% but I had to go to court and request it to be lowered, then they wanted me to pay the court fees.The % they said went into a pot and when AZ says they got all there money mom would get the pot.She just passed now what?

When my son was 16yrs old - his mom opened a case against me - I was supposedly behind 28K. I hired an attorney paid the jerk $10K, he missed a couple of telephonic court confrences - a judgement was handed down for $48K. The case was to be transfered from Oregon to L.A. Co. - somehow it got lost for 2 years (the county sent me a zero bal) 2 yrs later I get a bill for $69K - I hired another attoney $12K, he did nothing. She levied my bank 2 x for $17K - so I've paid $39K & still have a 69K bal!

my boyfriend has joint disicion making and joint custody and still pays 1,000 dollars a month! the error in his case was that SHE was primary in order for it to really be 50/50 you would have to have joint PHYSYCAL custody....and even then...if the father makes more, he still has to pay!

"ajaned32" true. 50/50 joint custody has to be 182.5 days a year to the Mother and 182.5 days to the Father. Than the income is taken in to consideration. If one parent makes so much more than the other parent than one is ordered to pay a monthly payment to ensure that the child gets the same quality of life when he/she is with either parent.
They screwing up parents any way they can. They want to make sure money is being collected so they can hold fee's and rewards to CSA.

If ur child support is 100$ a week for 1 child.
5% of ur 100$= 5$ just transaction, plus 10% of ur total payment is 10$ so ur payment will be 115$ a week.
CSA NAZI takes 15$ a week for every 100$ paid by Fathers to the child.
15x52 weeks a year =780$ a year 18 years is 14,040 $ just in Transactions, imagine in court fee's, prison, attorneys, judges etc etc.
so say $14,000 x about 40 mill kids= billions and billions in just estimated 100$ payments.
Multi billion$ industry.

Child support is based in ur income or possibility of ur income.
20% of ur income goes to 1 child, so if u make 1 mill a week, $200,000 goes to ur child a week.
some here argue no 400$ is not enough or 400 is enough a month.
and 5% as a transaction fee, and 10% as collecting the money is added in the original payment. who gets the 15% of the payment!? CSA no wonder why they push on Child support.

Today the default is the Father gets the child 4 days a Month regardless how fit the Father is.
That is wrong, that is child abuse.
People, Support ur child does not mean Money. It means Love, be with ur child, educate, talk, feed, care for her/him.
The LAW and the Feminism does not allow us to Support our kids.
4 days a Month is like seeing ur child in Picture.
Give us 50/50 joint custody, and no one has to pay to another any money. We pay directly to our kids needs.

Example Mother gets the child 1 week and the Father 1 week. or 2/2 days

What do you think about today's crisis in relation to child support? If a man is laid off and cannot find a job, then he is still penalized to the max. The system is cruel as I see it. I am in this predicament I just mentioned. I'm glad to pay it but isn't there some leeway to today's situation? It seems that this will feed into the crisis.

Dummy. I am so far in debt because of the interest. I can not catch up on it because of paying reg child support. The interest in just building up and building up. There is no need for interest is stupid like you. Mothers today are greedy I went to jail over this. You think the I have rights. Nope all mothers have all the rights leaving fathers screwed.... Had to move to Mexico to escape 12 years hanging over my head for having unpertected sex. I should have the right to choose.

Well, perhaps you should have "manned-up" instead of running to Mexico? I suspect you wouldn't be in as much debt if you'd have done that. You DON'T have the right to choose to be involved with a child who is already here. THAT IS THE WAY THE CURRENT LAWS WORK. If you have issue with that, then you need to go to legislature and fight for new laws set around the inability for a man to choose parenthood. Don'T call me a dummy just because you don't want to support the INNOCENT children u made.

My fit is the time issue. Agentcies wait, until they are a certain amount behind. Usually an overhelming amount. It is one thing to get a couple of pay checks behind, most can catch up. But when they are allowed to get years behind, then there is no possiblity. If it were mandated early, then it would be taken seriously. And not allow parents to get so far behind that they never get caught back up. My ex, threw his life away dodging.Two are grown, but he is shocked to be arrested now.

That's my main complaint. Let it be set up so the man can simply keep up and get used to it. It doesn't serve the kids at all to run games and put the man in jeopardy like that.

Had they got on his fast and hard in the beginning, then maybe: he would have been around, the children would have had their father, and I would not have worked two jobs, to owe up for his share. The only winners are the agencies, law enforcement and the sherrif, because they all still got paid. As for the money, we'll never see it.

So, your point is that you want the government, that is not handling a situation in your life, to regroup, reorganize and handle themselves differently. Your son was in arrears, meaning not currant on child support. Once someone gets in arrears, it doesn't keep the children from needing things, growing out of clothes, or cost of living increases, as some nonsupporters would like to think. At this point, many of us feel it should not be called child support, but money owed to the parent.

Sandra, I believe that you're missing the point. No one here is arguing that support should not be paid. The argument is against a system that charges interest on monies in arrearage and takes that interest from payments prior to taking care of the obligation to the custodial parent. I would love to hear your argument against a wife remarried, living in a new home, driving a new car while the other rents in squalor and has nothing so he can maintain these obligations.

I can give you this argument. I was the wife, who did not remarry, but went back to school and took a professional job. The ex was determined, not to pay child support, to the court what so ever. He ducked, dodged, and evaded support for the last 15 years. Now, because he was on the run, the back child support has kept tallying up. He is now locked up, $41,308 behind, on just our youngest child. The others and amounts were split off when they turned 18. Total: 124,681.
