  • Brilliant!

  • Let me get this straight... A video on how to make doctor who sounds on guitar, but no tardis sound tutorial?

  • @ulunited That will be next time!

  • @ulunited I imagine you could do something like that with, pickslides reverb and flanger

  • Why are you using that dummy plug?

  • @yito2204

To turn the unit on with out having any thing connected to the input plug.

The end result is white noise.

  • @Effectology Am I understanding correctly, the dummy plug produces the same effect as if you connect the "empty" wire to the pedal input and circuit it's empty end with your finger instead of connecting the instrument to it?

  • @Decubuntu

Yes but a cable will introduce other sounds.

Just the plug produces less microphonic sounds.

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

  • so ENO isn't the man , Delia is

  • @juliedog464 Delia was not the man. She was the woman.

  • The thing I'm always the most curious about is how you do the drone-type things that always start these videos. You should do an Effectology of the sounds of Effectology.

  • TWEEEK!!!

  • this is what I call dialing buttons - congrats Bill!

  • scalloped frets... is nicee :D

  • I am viewer number 44,444. This is also the first time I've ever commented on youtube. Please, bring on the h8te. Cool video.

  • @TheDolinStation i hate you

  • this guy is the Brian Eno of the guitar!

  • shoegazer paradise

  • Where can I buy a "dummy plug"?

  • @ureadmymind

    Radio Shack 1/4 in plug.

its just a plug with nothing connected to it.

  • @ureadmymind Or if you have a bad guitar chord just cut the plug off of one end and use that.

  • I think I need to start a band just to play this live

  • these videos kick ass!

  • @Effectology Ok I now know were to look 4 your music, but..... u didnt tell me the title or artest of the music. :)

Maby if u put a link of the music artest & title in your video,..if u know how? Do U? :)

  • @nathanalaneller

That info is on the EHX forum where you will find a direct link.

The forum address is in the video description.

  • is there a site or ask for a copy of the music in this vid?

  • @nathanalaneller

Do a Google search for Doctor Who sheet music.

You should be able to find it very easy.

    Bill

  • How in Hades do you figure out that certain pedals together bring these amazing sounds out of them? Every one of these videos are amazing and Hendrix would have been more than happy to hire you as some of these sounds were probably in his head too.

  • I am not a sound engineer, but this made me cream my pants!

  • So excellent. Great work! And thanks for respecting Delia. :)

  • too good to be true! 5 stars!!!

  • Aww and there's me thinking you RECREATED the sounds of Delia, but instead we have this awesome arrangement of the theme. Nice one.

  • wow

  • Played with fine skill.

  • This series is both amazing and inspiring! I wonder if you could do any Tangerine Dream?

  • What did you use to do that one slow pan from left to right? Thanks!

  • @Tubes12AX7k

I paned them by hand but you could do it by using the Stereo Pulsar as in stereo it will pan from side to side.

  • @Tubes12AX7k

I panned them by hand but you could do it by using the Stereo Pulsar as in stereo it will pan from side to side automatically.

    Thanks for noticing!!!

    Bill

  • This is one of the most unbelievable yet. Great job.

  • so inspiring, keep the videos coming!

  • Brilliant!

  • brilliant

  • @Effectology: Did you change the original PAF PROs in your Jem? What pickups did you install? Any particular reason for the change?

BTW, love the series, please do more Pink Floyds

  • @777Jonathan777

    Thanks

    I have two JEMS

One is stock with the PAF Pros and the other has Seymour Duncan Holdsworth pickups.

They sound more like a pedal steel or hot tele pickup to my ear.

What Pink Floyd do you want?

  • @Effectology Actually ANY Pink Floyd would be nice, I play in a 4-piece cover band without Keyboard, since we play lots of Genesis, PinkFloys and Yes, any help in getting synth sounds from a guitar (without MIDI) is great. I am particularly looking in the SOLO Keayboard sound. For example, we play Genesis' In The Cage and I do the Keyb solo on my guitar...I try to aproach the sound with reverbs, chorus and octavers but haven't quite got it....

    Thanks for the reply

  • Love it. I always wanted to work for the BBC Radiophonic workshop.

  • Very very very cool. Wouldn't it have been cool to see the original being made?

  • Best series on YouTube yet. I love effectology.

  • I like your version better the current official version. Very good.

  • Love the Sounds. My favorite EHX products are the Big Muff, DMM, DEM, Small Stone and Clone. Keep rocking.

  • Oh. My. God. Massive effects plus the theme to "Doctor Who" = Greatness.

BOSS, DigiTech, et al: "EXTERMINATE!" :-)

  • Fan-freakin' tastic! Delia would be smiling!

  • A classic show, with the the BBC's Radiophonic Workshop imortalised through EHX.

    Very, very nice work :)

  • Great tribute to Delia and I love the Guitar, Jem 77FP the most beautiful guitar ever produced.

  • Damn, Great one (y)

  • Great stuff!
