Watergate was just a cover up of something else going on, the CIA just wanted to deviate people's attention from what was really happening; they got it. Nixon was just a scapegoat and he had to keep it to himself or else he would be silenced just like they did with Kennedy. Yes ladies and gentlemen our government, the senate and the pentagon are run by "OTHERS"

@musicloverSF There really is no evidence of CIA involvement in Watergate. There were some CIA operatives involved, but this was a bungled operation by CREEP.

I believe that President Nixon really was innocent because if he wanted to cover it up, he could easily do it. If he was going to fall, he very well, could've taken many other people with him and destroy them. He could have even burned the tapes if he had truly been involved. However, he didn't. He stood his ground, clenched his teeth, and with-held all the accusations he would receive, all of the hatred that would hit him, and the everyday life of knowing the country thinks that he is guilty.

There is substance to this interview; the non-confrontational tone of the interview allowed us to see RMN in a more relaxed, unguarded demeanor.

Methinks that if Nixon had allowed people to see this side of him, he may have survived the scandal.

@Outlaw1257 Absolutely, The media WERE against him. They even dubbed cheers over the boos that Dan Rather got when he sassed Nixon. Dan Rather was actually boo-ed, but when the tape was broadcast there were cheers dubbed in. This I got from a man who had actually been there. Wow, how dishonest of the media. Imagine if everyone were persecuted as Nixon was for every mistake. Dan Rather got his later on.
