As much as Naxx was dumbed down in wotlk, I'm glad I got to see it.

If you're one of the few people who made it all the way through Naxx 40 back in vanilla you deserve the highest of praise.

I think out of all the raids Naxxramas was my 2th fav behind uld of course. the share massiveness of it + the lore behind the place itself is something out of true nightmares. The idea behind Thaddius himself makes me cry from horror he was made from the souls and flesh of women and children. hearing their cries of torment while raiding this place hunts me to this day

Naxxramas was UNBELIVEABLY hard, it took over TWO MONTHS to kill certain bosses in Naxx40 from world first raiders. It required sick comps like the Horsemen with like 8 tanks, shitloads of farming for consumables that were a REQUIREMENT to even try to down the boss.

It truly felt like you actually accomplished something if you managed to down a boss, yet alone clear a raid.

You're looking at it through nostalgia fogged glasses, to some extent. Tactics weren't as known, nor were Addons generally used, as well as Gear and Talents weren't exactly optimised. Recall Healer rotations because of horrible mana regen? Good times, huh?

The game has gotten better to some extent. Geneerally all spcs are viable, and Gear isn't " lol holydin + all 5 stats " or " loltank + 15 hp5/+ spirit ". It also helps not having to find and organise 40 people who have the time to raid.

I agree that the game is better than it was back then in ways like all specs actually being viable, the blizzard UI got some great changes (raid frames, being able to see the enemys hitpoints for example). Rotations are actually rotations instead of "spam sinister strike" or "spam shadowbolt". And yes, healing is also better now, I remember having to spam like rank 2 spells so i wouldnt oom and druids and palas weren't just "innervate/buff" bots.

Also you got a certain feeling of accomplishment after downing a sick boss like 4HM or twins.

The game was a horrible grind, but damn it was fun.

@mrStorage But about addons and tacics, if you wanted to succeed in raiding you had to have some sort of addons with you. I for example used a Grid style raidframe, threat meter, different UI , and we had a guy in our guild making addons for certain fights to ease with debuffs and phase switches etc.

I agree tactics werent as known BUT I feel like it was part of the fun and difficulty, to figure out the tactics yourself. And yes, in raids like MC tactics boring but that changed in AQ, BWL n naxx

I dont get why people who saw and enjoyed 60 Naxx QQ'd when they had to do it again. If you loved it so much, why complain, when you can do it at a challenging level again? I'd LOVE to do Ulduar as current content again, theres no way I'd complain about them redoing that!

As someone who never saw lvl 60 Naxx (not even in Tbc, took too long to find enough attuned people) I'm grateful they made it into an 80 raid - people who experienced both say its just a watered down version, but its way more fun to do something when its current content and actually a challenge then going back and blitzing a raid you're 10-20 levels too high for.
