I'm sorry don't mean to offend anybody but that kind of guitar playing may be complex but soulfully it doesn't move me! I like the kind of guitar player that gives me goose bumps when they start to solo this guy just doesn't do that for me! Matter of fact most jazz guitarist just don't do that for me! Jeff Beck is probably the kind of jazz fusion guitarist and maybe Adrian Belew are probably the only ones who do! I guess I don't like jazz fusion!
if you were to strip down the guitar tone so it would sound like an electric guitar circa 1966/67, this solo would have fit right in with the miles davis quintet.... herbie and wayne and scott henderson. that'd be SICK.
that isn't new, Vai and halen are superguitarrist, but Scott is a musician and a genius.Vai an Halen they are infinite miles back from Scott, he is unic. I'm sorry metalics....open your main ( cueto )
@Alejxsa Very anoying this YouTube comparing obcession, this "winner/looser" nersight vision sprout here. Holdsworth is Henderson's bible and he jams with Van Halen, who pushed Holdsworth in american market. So, stop creating this competition that they don't have between them!!
I'm big Scott Henderson fan and I have to say this one of the most impressive solos I've ever seen on video. My all time favorite songs are Xanax and Time Tunnel, but he's some flat out bop here and fusing it to some of most molten fusion playing I've ever seen.
This performance is an absolute keeper and the camera is parked point blank at the freboard. can't thank you enough for this prieless Scott Henderson at his absolute best!!!!!!!!!
Love Scott but not so much when he just hangs on that whammy bar. Always good to grow and experiment, but his earlier approach was so cool and musical. All a matter of taste i guess.
Bunny Brunel is a great musician, a fantastic bass player with great tone, but he is not in the same league with Gary Willis. Gary Willis belongs to a very elite group of bass players who have been the innovators of the instrument for the last 30 years or so, both as players and composers (along with Jaco, Wooten, Matt Garrisson, Hadrien Feraud, Marcus Miller, Francis Rocco Prestia, Larry Graham etc.)... that's why Tribal Tech have decided to exist only in the Willis version so far...
Scott knows how to follow chord changes...that's what separates him from guys like Vai and Van Halen...tons of chops...on an E pedal but don't modulate and put chords in there!
Actually, even CAB's Bunny Burrell would be the best pick to fit into Tribal Tech. Talk about a guy probably even better than WIllis on bass. Robert Pagliari is comparable, but Bunny Burrell would fit perfectly. His an advanced song writter just like Willis. They'd probably be even a better New Tribal Tech than before.
Ohm's Robert Pagliari would be the best replacement for Gary Willis imo to reassemble Tribal Tech. Henderson, Kinsey & Covington need to get back to his true roots of Tribal Tech and reform. Robert Pagliari would be the perfect replacement for Willis. Forget waiting for Willis to ever come back. TRIBAL TECH MUST REUNITE!!! All Hendersons & Kinsey's post ear stuff has been subpar and reppettive imo comparred to Tribal Tech.
Sounds like "Big Rock" from the Scott Kinsey album "Kinesthetics" that Henderson is soloing on here. This was actually a tour of the Scott Kinsey Group, rather than Tribal Tech, although it did include three of the four TT members. Hope you enjoyed the show.
Kinesthetics is a lovely album, but that aside, name recognition counts for a lot and in the nine years since they went on to their own solo projects Tribal Tech has become legendary among fans of Fusion. If they regrouped under their old name and went back out on tour they might find greater appreciation this time around. Even if Willis no longer wants to tour and they went out with Garrison it would be a thrill.

Some people thinks this is not Tribal Tech; it's just Scott Henderson's Blues Band with Scott Kinsey, but here there is the 75% of TT.
