  • Reminds me of Cap'n Jazz, but different. All of which are in good ways.

  • this song is wonderful

  • Omg fuck this tune lol

  • anyone else know of Owls as well?

  • @AnHeroDesu yes!

  • This is music? Lol what a joke

  • i've vomited better lyrics

  • well.....at least it isn't autotuned! For that they get a thumbs up!

  • @SongsofInnocence That's right so go fuck yourself for not knowing a good song when you hear it

  • they sound more like ... Texas is the Reason ... than cap'n jazz .... to me ... either way, it is good to hear a group keeping alive one of the roots of their musical ancestors.

  • Beautiful strings. And the vocalist has super hyphy swagg.

  • Is Cap'n Jazz still around? No. Do these guys sound similar, but equally awesome? Yes! What's the problem here? It's like thinking a relative of yours has been dead for ten years, only to find out they're not only still alive, but somehow full of youthful vigor.

  • wow, they rip off two really good bands in this jam. rapider than horsepower at the beginning there and they're constantly biting the kinsella schtick.

  • @joshgermeroth pretty sure every idiot who thinks this sounds like a ripoff kinsella project hasnt listened to much midwest emo. It all sort of sounds the same. get over it.

  • :39 always reminded me of a really awesome rendition of a bruce springsteen song....i dont know why but the way this drummer plays just makes me think about the boss lol weird i know, but whatever, this band is incredible

  • whoever moans about this band needs to realise 1 thing. i saw algernon live tonight and ive never seen a crowd come so alive plus i got a good long chat with the band. WHAT ELSE COULD YOU ASK FOR?

  • oh man, i really love the whole song but best fucking moment at 1:28. bliss.

  • My last name is Caswallader O_O

  • @Cadwallader15 I love this band and holy shit you're the guy who commented on my video

  • obviously REALLY kinsella, but still fucking awesome!

  • A Cap'n Jazz fan reccommended these to me since I like Cap'n Jazz, I love them. What a clever man. Those who like these and don't know Cap'n Jazz.... go try them out.

  • Where the hell do I buy this song? Somebody tell me quick before I lose my shit.

  • @AmberSkyLane type youtube converter in google and your question will be answered!!

  • You guys aren't going to believe this, but this band's reallllyyyyy fucking good when you're high. You owe it to yourself to roll a few joints, sit back, and push play.

  • HHHHHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO-

  • Just heard 4-5 songs of this band on the local college station. I do like a lot of the music, but it is as others have pointed out, the vocals that are too much too ignore. Scratchy would be one thing, a little off-tune another - but together they're pretty awful. The music could go to a higher place with a better singer. To those who say this "isnt the point", if that is the case, take the vox out completely. Otherwise, the vox ARE a part of the music and indeed, part of the point. replace him

  • @percypage74 I really like his vocals; they're so soulful.

  • @percypage74 i dont know much about this band but i definitely think the vocals are part of 'the point'. take all punk music for example. the music and the vocals are hardly ever technically "good", but the emotion and ideas they are trying to convey and the energy they give out is the purpose to why its being made.

  • Guys, Taking Back Sunday called, they want their act back.

It sounds good, but it's a ripoff of another much older band.

  • @MoeZeppelin LOL

  • @jmrocker :-)

  • @MoeZeppelin They are definitely more influenced by Cap 'n Jazz and other Kinsella style bands than they are by Taking Back Sunday. Get learned, son.

  • @Pogs4Fathersday : dude Cap n Jazz is totally influenced by Taking Back Sunday...a much older band. "Get learned son."? lol, you didn't even have pubes when Taking Back Sunday came out, boy.

  • @Pogs4Fathersday : dude so sorry i totally effed up lol! Yes you are so right, I was thinking of Brand New :-/ i formally cop to the error and have gotten my son self learned, lol.

  • @MoeZeppelin It's all good, man. I can appreciate anyone who is willing to own up to mistakes. Keep on truckin'.

  • Algernon Cadwallader is in every way better and more fun than Cap'n Jazz.

  • @samworthington123 This argument needs to just stop. Cap'n Jazz left something for bands to build upon. So you can't really put down Cap'n Jazz, they are the fathers of emo. Algernon is great, but i wouldn't say they're "better." Both have strong points. :)

  • @spump303 I like cap'n but some of their songs are AMAZING while some are aboslute horse shit. I could listen to every algernon song twice over and still wana go for a third round. Allthough, this is a matter of preference, and both bands were/are amazing.

  • Stubs make better feet.

  • wish they were on itunes

  • That felt good, I feel better about tomorrow.

  • wow this is really good

  • anyone know anymore bands like this? like this raw sound and stuff besides Cap'n Jazz? because im really into this band now and wanna find some more bands that are similar.

  • @jewishjackhammer

Snowing, Midwest Pen Pals, Merchant Ships

  • @jewishjackhammer check "grown ups" or "snowing".... very similar tune :)

  • @jewishjackhammer Snowing, Johnny Foreigner, and Dananananaykroyd

  • The old drummer Nick T. is pretty cool. He went to my art school.

  • Thumbs up if this song takes you from any mood straight to warm and fuzzy...

  • sounds like shit. learn how to sing.

  • @madchops82 I will hunt you down and do terrible things to you with a toothbrush

  • @nickthebasketcase whatever dude, this is shit music compared to what's out in this world.

  • @madchops82 so are you ssaying todays music>90s?

  • @laxwarrior64 no, I'm saying there is a whole world of music out there and this is just noisy

  • @madchops82 all i have to say to you is this music is more legit and fun to play then anything else.

  • @BlurredVisi0n That's because the dudes who play this stuff can't play anything else.

  • @madchops82 I think they could play other stuff, math rock is tricky, at least it seems like it is. But admittedly the singer isn't very good, I still love them long time

  • @Ivhobbs23vI They could get someone with better vocals if they wanted to...but vocals aren't the point. I'd say i enjoy his scratchy voice over someone pretty boy vocals anyday.

  • @L07EK Thats true, he gives them that certain unique feel

  • @BlurredVisi0n more legit than anything else? What are you like 14 years old? That's becuase the dudes who play this shit can't play anything else.

  • @madchops82 I'm 16, and you just name me another band that has more legit fun time music then this. Dude I have covered one of these guys' songs, they are amazing.

  • @BlurredVisi0n Cat Empire check them out.

  • @madchops82 Yeah, they are a wickedly talented band, I know them and yeah i have no problems with them, but this stuff is great too. I also listen to stuff like Tool and periphery and ttng as well, bands that technically sound better

  • it's like caP'n Jazz but with a shitty drummer.

  • Cap'n'Jazz with an emo-rock touch.. It's awesome.

  • If u like that sound, you should listen to a band named GROWN UPS and their last LP called "More Songs". Or here on youtube with songs like "Orange Cat", "Weed Science", "Pears", and many more... Grown Ups IS THE BAND.

Anyway, I still love Algernon Cadwaller.

  • @bequietandjam *I mean, "CadwallADER" of course

  • yes, they sound very much like Cap'n Jazz. As a 30 something guy who came upon "emo" via the Kinsellas and Braid while growing up in Chicago, I find this kinda refreshing. There's already a retro 90's Sub Pop scene going around with kids who were 7 during the Seattle era, so why not a revival of 90's post punk. The 80's do over style is dead, at least these kids were looking to something a bit off the radar to emulate.

  • @eracguy so true :]

  • These guys are awesome.

  • ALGERNON! STUBS MAKE BETTER FEET!

  • I LOVE YOU!

  • SERIAL KILLER STATUUUS!

  • Less groundbreaking than Cap'n Jazz, but I like this better. I just can't really get into Cap'n Jazz for some reason. I understand the similarities but don't really view this as a carbon copy of a great band. There's just something more accessible to Algernon, and it's catchy as hell.

  • cap'n jazz is getting back together : D

  • Who cares if the lead singer sounds like Kinsella a little bit? This sounds like the real "emo" I would listen to back in the 90s. The term "emo" has been slaughtered by these new age kids with tight pants and tight girl shirts. :( You don't find music like this anymore which is unforunate.

  • @k9c93 I don't know... I'm not too cut up about the demise of either genre. (no pun intended)

  • @k9c93

definetly true but theres nothing wrong with dressing how you want

  • @k9c93 I love shmap'n shmazz & kinsella material, To be bold The reason i like Algernon Cadwallader is due to the undeniable similar sounding voice, almost identical. I just heard this band last night & I denied my body proper sleep rotation in order to listen to all their songs, because theres just too much material for such one small trio, I love it. as for tight pants and tight girl shirts, I think to each their own style and expression, just because trends come doesnt mean u have to hate.

  • This band DOES sound pretty similar to Cap'n Jazz, but it's not a big deal to me. I like it that way. All naysayers shut the fuck up. Not all bands have to be completely fucking groundbreaking.

  • Agreed. Except for the fact that they are more poppy, and even though the vocals are raw, they're all at least in key and have a catchy melody. I found a lot of Cap'n Jazz's vocals to be droning, or just flat out boring.

    Just an opinion though. >_>

  • @crassisdead Besides, Cap'n Jazz is good

  • @straightXjessedge Yeah I love Cap'n Jazz.

  • @crassisdead If they are similar, then it's all the more music to love...

  • STUBS MAKE BETTER FEEEEEEET

  • anyone know where i can get the lyrics for all their songs? or can someone send them to me. i just fell in love with this band.

  • It's awesome that these guys are playing Europe.

  • there awsum they may sound like cap but way better cuz the lead singer from cap sings kinda annoying

  • Yeah them playing with Bad Luck is REALLY awkward.

    Sick band tho.

  • this band is playing at least one show with bad luck 13. what the fuck. that's one of the most awkward things i've ever heard of.

  • why is that awkward?

  • @InKursion just does not seem likely that's all

  • @InKursion just look up bad luck 13 live and you will understand, algernon cad's shows are push pits and crowdsurfing, while bad luck's crowds freak out when they realize who is playing because they very well might die in the next 45 minutes

  • Comment removed

  • @xBillyTheKidx isnt bad luck 13 banned from playing shows in like 9 states lol

  • @xBillyTheKidx i hope bad luck 13 beat some sense into whoever came to see this shit

  • @ReagansJellyBeans Hahaha you're reatarded.

  • NAH..DOUBTFUL

  • They sound more like The get Up Kids lyrically - got i cant believe Im 32 still listening to these bands. funny how all the young kids are listening to Cap n Jazz now.

  • Sorry for mentioning them again, but it sounds a *lot* like Olerud by Cap'n Jazz right at the beginning.

  • the whole band sounds alot like Cap'n Jazz. except better.

  • i found out they have a name for genre of math rock/emo.

    It's called ''Noodle-core''.

I still like to refer to it as ''Kinsella-esque".

    Both terms are awesome though.

    Noodle-core/Kinsella music rules!

  • I always thought it was called Kinsella- Core.

  • Then WHY are you here????

  • can you say thank fuck Algernon are here to do something fresh with the cap'n jazz sound now cap'n jazz are gone?

    I think you should.

  • i agree

  • i can. thumb him down all you want, they are CLEARLY influenced by them.

  • I believe he used the words Rip-off.

  • agreed

  • i love this band because cap'n jazz is my favorite band and they remind me so much of them. early mike kinsella was the best mike kinsella.

  • But early Mike Kinsella didn't really sing :O

    he just played drums

(and by early I mean Cap'n Jazz time period)

  • whats the bands name algeron cadwallalder or serial killer status

  • algernon cadwallader :)

  • Algernon Cadwallader

  • Someone should uplaod some more studio tracks by these guys.

  • I love them. SSC should get back together and do a show in Las Vegas! (yeah right...)

  • great song ^_^

  • i like it!!!

sounds like The Owls, cap n jazz, joan of arc etc

  • I don't think it sounds much like Owls at all. However, does sound a lot like Cap'n Jazz.

  • This band is so goddam good. I snagged the Some Kind of Cadwallader LP when I saw em in Baltimore. Good dudes.

  • I wish I had never looked up the lyrics to this song, of which only two lines appeal to me. It's not my song I suppose. Great music!

  • Really? I think the lyrics are genius.

  • there sooo fuckin amazing.fuck the haters

  • lovin it

  • This song really makes me want to clean my house.

  • love

  • such an amazing song!!!!!

  • There new album is sooooo good

  • ohhhhhh myyy godd!!!!
