  • "Quickquick !" :D

  • it looks so much more elegant than it sounds :D

  • This, to me, a person who knows little about dancing, appears to be technically brilliant. But, it also appears to lack any feeling or passion and they look like a pair of automatons. A gaucho on the pampas surely didn't dance the tango like this...It reminds me of an intense swimming lesson..

  • 素晴らしいですね。何回見ても感動しますね。

  • I'd rather suspected this was going to be the case. While the accompanying tuitional timing clips in respect of the waltz, quickstep, etc., are brilliant, this demonstration of the tango is far, far too removed from genuine "basic" to render it of much usefulness to the average dancer. Impressive dancing, of course, but useless from an instructional point of view. If they'd ever care to make another video, this time showing practical 'gold' syllabus figures, it would be much appreciated.

  • It is funny the sound

  • cuak cuak cuak sloooooow hahahahahah

  • is there anyone out there can post the names of figures/syllabus in this video here... tnx...

  • why can't i watch these vids? is there sumting wrong with my pc or is it just youtube? urgh

  • This staccato head turn is an example of optional styling frequently used when dancers move into promenade position. The change to PP was most certainly led, however.

  • Good example how even best competitive dancers can not lead/follow.

Notive lady flip her head at 11 second? She had no lead/reason to do it. Darn competitive dancing continue to destroy social dancing.

  • Maybe you don't have enough experience or knowledge to understand why she turns her head at 11 seconds, but it is because he is leading a closed promenade, and that is the point where he is changing her frame from promenade position to closed position. She most certainly did have a lead for that very basic step.

  • There is 0, nan difference between closed position and promenade position, exept in a head. I do not see any Hips or body lead from him at this moment. To me it look like she turns because she know to turn, not because she was lead to do that. This suppous to be a basic steps vidio. Now notice How they break the most fundamental rule of BALLROOM dancing all the time. They go agains line of dance, agains direction of the dance. That second thin how competitive dancing destroy social dancing.

  • You are right that there is a nano difference between closed and promenade position. However, when the man turns HIS OWN head to promenade, there is a vibration in the partnership that the woman feels, and THAT is what tells her to turn her head to promenade position.

  • In a way, you are right that it is not strict 'lead and follow', as it would be in social dancing. International standard isn't meant to be a social dance. But I guarantee you that she is not guessing; he makes it unmistakably clear that they are going to promenade position.

  • Here I will disagree with you. Look on His Demo dances. You will see that in every given moment Lady has no choice, but to turn her head in direction he wanted. Reason will be different, Ineria of the body, shape, weigth transfer. Basic figures should not mean bad dancing. I want to see same demonstration for basic figures as for demo dancing.

  • That a not a chance that no one danc ebasic in competition, because it teaching become disconnected with dance development. No One dance Step -side -closed in waltz any longer, if anyone ever did. It if forward forward -close when turning. In case of Natural or reverce turns. It is even forward forward passing in change step. and term close is not entirelly correct. teachers will take this routines and teach them how they are. I believe word champions have responsibility to wide dancing public.
