  • Roger Waters, Ennio Morricone, beautiful as always. Can't still forget the last scene of the movie. Was a good thing I stayed to see the credits. This song was the bgm for the credits, and I thought it to be the real finale, with this song hitting climax, of 1900...

  • :((

  • Roger is my idol!

  • As a huge fan of both Floyd and Van Halen, it just doesn't get much better than this!! I love Eddies subtle use of the 'Sustainer' pickup at the end.... Beautiful!!!

  • Roger is my Hero!!!!

  • fuck me never heard bfore

  • This is the last song I want to hear, before I die. I carry my ipod everywhere in case something bad was to happen. I want something this incredible, to be the last thing I hear. That may sound morbid, but it's true. I love this song. No song could ever hit me like this one does.

  • @Musicmaster182 wow! amen , Roger is A true Master (amused to death) is brillant

  • Please Roger live on-Make more music

  • Awesome!!

  • Roger Waters is a very great musician. This song is fantastic.

Roger Waters est vraiment un grand musicien.Je ne me lasse pas d'entendre cette composition.

Viva Pink Floyd.. Una legenda del pianista sul oceano....or 1900 in DVD...Very great movie.

  • is there no end to Rogers talent, this song is amazing, thank you Roger

  • Greenwich MEAN time. Pip, pip, old Thing!

  • i cant believe im saying this but i find Rogers solo material far more enjoyable than The Floyd, probably just heard the old stuff one time too often, being no slouch on lead guitar myself my jaw dropped at the guitar work on this beautiful song, the end section is one of the most inspired unique and soulfull licks ive heard in years,i trawled the net looking for the players name and my sense of awe was justified when i learned the guitarists name is Edward Van Halen, wow!! check it out!

  • @musicfunkydude did you not hear his style from the second note ?

  • @musicfunkydude

Yeah, that floyd rose can do some real neat stuff can't it.

  • One of the best films I have ever seen. Tim Roth is absolutely phenomenal. I have seen the film (better than a movie) more than 20 times and still cry at many points. 98/100.

  • Roger Waters father was killed during WW2 - his mother was pregnant with him, hence his sense of loss - despair and frustration....his lyrics reflect his life - beautifully !

listen to any of his lyrics with the thought in your mind of him having no dad....If he;d been born in the USA his music would be called "the blues" ??

  • That is light-years better than the Flickering Flame Demo.

Why Roger realeased that instead of this only Roger knows.

I'm sorry Roger has just ruined this song for me;unlike Flickering Flame.

  • You're allowed to say this is crap cause it is.

Atleast the version I have on Flickering Flame is.

  • So Sad End T_T

  • "You never took us fishing dad, and now you never will." I don't know how he gets away with it, but it's brilliant! If anyone else sang lines like this it would come across as fist-bitingly naff, but there's such an emotional honesty, conviction, and tenderness in what he does that it cuts right through you. For better or for worse, Waters totally believes every word he sings. Bravo!

  • who is the singer?

  • Which movie is this?

  • roger just keeps doing it ..... a true master

  • Never taken fishing. Do you know what that does to a boy? lol "When I hear those Mother's (Of Invention) cry!. Zap 'er! lol

Celebrity Hotel Secrets = Steel Libretto Screechy

  • Jeff beck was a good guitar choice for Amused to Death by waters.

  • Dude this is Eddie van Halen on guitar! Yes Gilmour is the shit, but aside from Eric Clapton, whom Roger got to be his guitarist in 1984 (Pro's and Con's of Hitchhiking) Eddie is a great choice for a one off! How many people ever would think they would be together on a tune! there are multiple versions of this song, this one does not have the blistering eddie solo the others do. just a little at the end.

  • Saddened by the tragic ending.

  • How do you do it Roger...how do you do it?

  • The first time I watched this I was speechless in the end but well the second movie I tears out for

Ps. the first one was AI.

  • This is MUCH better than the version on "Flickering Flame". He should've released this version instead.

  • He released this version on the Legend of 1900 soundtrack. I agree it is much better. Although I love Roger's voice when he "screams".

  • we are living in an endless world...his world is the best...

  • simplemente hermoso y conmovedor tema compuesto por Roger, con su tan particular voz y la guitarra de Eddie Van Halen

  • Great movie. Great music. Period.

  • I watched this movie because i heard this song, now i watch this movie 24/7 It is such an awesome / sad movie!!! Definitly check out this movie people! The song just tops it off. So awesome!

  • yer i love this movie i think its wa better then titanic the uncut version of it is way better tho

  • definitly. uncut version for legend of 1900? Whats different in it?

  • has parts in it that make more sence and more of a monalog by max

  • Oh ok. i should check that out. i only saw reg version and i know some parts were pretty choppy, so ill look into tht. thanks for info.

  • I think it's Eddie Van Halen on the solos?

  • indeed it is !

  • bellissima ......meravigliosa...fantastica....

Non ci sono parole..........Quando l'ho ascoltata la prima volta mi ha datoun incredibile emozione

ma è stata composta insieme a morricone e van halen????

  • somehow the lyrics fit the tragic of K-141 Kursk. :(

  • he should have released this version on Flicker Flame also...fucking beautiful song, his best work since Final Cut and some ATD...

  • You never took us fishing dad, and now you never will

  • l'unico vero genio della musica.

  • esatto concordo

  • The first time I'm listening this song... it's very beautiful :)

  • where did you get this version of the song with the second guitar solo at the end???

  • Yes what a combination Roger Waters

    and Ennio Morricone!! Beautiful 5/5..

  • the movie is called the legend of 1900 with music by ennio morricone starring english actor tim roth the most beautiful movie ever.

  • ditto

  • Beautiful song. No words. Morricone and Waters two geniuses of Music.

  • thats such a sad and beautiful song. purely amazing

  • wish him and ed would do an album together

  • EDDIE VAN HALEN ON GUITAR

  • Well said.

  • your choice is right!!

  • Roger great as always such great man and writer the world would never have another like him thanks my friend

  • ty redwitch great song

  • i love the movie and the song. :)

  • Where can we watch this movie on line and is it called lost boys calling or something else?

  • Genuine

  • Edward Van Halen, all flash, no feel, no substance?

WHATEVER!! That solo once and for all puts to rest that Eddie is the most misunderstood guitar player ever. Music critics have no idea, he is the best.

Go listen to the solo off Fair Warning "Push comes to shove" to hear what true genius sounds like.

All power to Roger for the courage to choose Eddie to play on this magnificent song.

  • Totally agree !!!! all the guitar work on fair warning is just genius !!!!

  • I bought the movie because I saw this video on youtube.

  • no one writes better lyrics than Waters and I'm know Morricone made the melody but still; no one could have put to together this better and abowe all; his voice makes this unike ...

  • I think that the music of this song was written by the genius ... Ennio Morricone.

  • there is only one ... just only one that can create masterpieces like this and his name is roger waters ...

  • Not all the Flickering Flame CD's had copyright protection just certain regions and you could only buy it in certain countries that the tour was going to .There are torrents for the album if you can't find it in a store.

  • rapidshare links too,, its all over the place

  • One of Rogers greatest post-floyd lyrics

  • Most talented lyricist of rock History.

  • wow... thats all i can say wow...

  • ey all this is a great song, i used it in one of my videos calles "lost shaun calling" let me kn wat u think. shaun1912

  • Brilliant from a genius mind.

  • Check out my Soundtrack of this, It has the lyrics. Tim Roth is awesome.

  • I used to have a demo version of this song without a solo.

    Just synth and trumpet.

It was so much better, but I have lost the cd.

It was pirate version of the Flickering Flame album.

I wish I could find it somewhere.

  • is that the octave up version?

  • Yes it is do you know where I can get it?

  • Sorry,I heard it when it came out back around '99. Don't remember how.

  • i have it !! i would love to rip it and send it to you .. but the cd was designed not to play on pc or mac !!! sorry mate .. chris

  • if you have an old cd reader, with a "play" button, you can rip it - the cd will spin when you press it.

  • if you have an old cd reader, with a "play" button, you can rip it - the cd will spin when you press it.

  • ou can just buythe flckering flame CD. i have just been looking and the original is on there. Dave

  • Roger's guitar player is snowy white, Edward does the solo for this song,,flows nicely,, good job mr. VH.

  • I love the movie

  • What movie is that?

  • It's from the Movie: The Legend of 1900

  • I think the guitarplayer is Snowy White

  • "I think the guitarplayer is Snowy White"

    It's EVH matey!

  • the guitar player is sort of killing the song. David Gilmour would have made a better job of it. But still this is a good tune.

  • The Guitar player is Eddie Van-Halen.

  • i don get ur point tat van halen is killing this song. its a great solo. well gilmour is great as always but cant reduce the greatness van halen has done here.

  • 9841496228: Gilmour? This is Roger Waters, not David Gilmour...

  • well u didnt get me ; i know this is waters , I was replying to some comments who was criticizing Van Halen's solo ........tats it

  • For those who love music, R Waters is a "High Priest".

  • great song for a great movie

  • awesome song, great solo (eddie) roger is awesome

  • Excellent lyrics, awesome motion picture.

  • One of the most perfect songs I have ever heard. So beautiful. So perfect. If ever any song could make me cry. It would be this one.

  • Roger's creativity in writing lyrics and infusing with music is such that it touches the very core of the nerves in your brain...and you can see when he sings or his songs are sung, everyone remebers Roger's solo works but no-one can count Dave's solo work as being any good.Dave did add his finishing/master strokes to an already painted canvas by the brushes of Roger. This version is wow,so is the demo on SOLO Years.vol.1 but I like this fa far better.

  • Wow, Roger, this was fantastic.

  • Very Mellow,Lovely After A Few Joints!

  • hey u more gilmour floyds didnt touch the peak only wit davids guitar solos ,it was watrs lyrics n creativity tat they became as they r now.david only painted what was sketched on waters chords

  • Completly agree. Waters is the creative source of PF music and concept. Without him they would be only a "money chart band". Waters is Pink Floyd. Rest in peace Syd.

  • they were ALL PINK FLOYD SYD NICK DAVID ROGER AND RICHARD. no one memeber defines a band.

  • Long live David! Roger can be excellent, but his arrogance makes him poor, besides... who has the fingers of God?

  • The mind of PF always was Waters, after the departure of Syd.

  • Genius always comes with the cost you may call ego, or arrogance; however, I believe the tales of Roger's ego are grossly over-exaggerated. He is far to: creative; spiritual; truely human, and a gentleman (if you ever get the chance) to be dismissed with cliches or sterotypes. To pigeon hole this man with adjectives is to anthropomorphosize.

    ;)

...Hoping I don't have to wait as long as I did for ATD for another greatest rock album of all time, but I'll take Synthetic Pink Floyd as well Rog.

  • I think that you like Waters music a lot, my friend. I just say that comparing with the lyricism of the great ones in rock Roger is a genius, not the genius like Bach, Mozart or Schubert for instance. Peace.

  • if our opinions are purely subjective -- I don't see Rog's profound words of wisdom in some of the classical composers for example..though the melodies seem to have already been resident in our auditory cortex...they fit so naturally -- Beethoven comes to mind...perhaps Roger's lyrics are better than Au De Joy? Does he deserve a genre of his own? To reiterate, I do believe his genius is on par with any of the great composers & writers, I don't think Shakespeare could have composed so beautifully

  • come hold me now, roger, listen me, the happiest will be with david , rick and nick

  • EDDIE VAN HALEN... His solo makes me cry. I love Eddie, I love Roger. But EDDIE STILL RULESSSSS, YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH !!!

  • Beautiful track heard over the closing credits of "The Legend Of 1900".... A wonderful film. Ennio Morricone's soundtrack throughout the film is gorgeous.

I remember the first time I saw the film and heard this track at the end.... I thought it was stunning, Waters vocal delivery and poignant lyrics floored me. One of Roger Waters greatest performances IMO and Eddie Van Halen on guitar solo........ Beautiful

  • beautiful

  • Giuseppe Tornatore, Ennio 'Il Maestro' Morricone, Tim Roth, Roger Waters, and Eddie Van Halen. What a great combination. See the film !(:-))

  • roger may not have the best voice by any means, but his atrfull song writting style makes up for any vocal short commings...was always the heart and soul of the floyd in my book, (with no disrepect towards sid)

  • It's Syd, and how about David for that matter?

  • my bad. Syd. and as to david hes average frontman and a tolerable guitarist...Floyds dead..long live WATERS.

  • The Floyd you love, you love it because of Gilmour's guitar playing..or at least essentially that's a reason..without Gilmour..Waters is just poetry...and if that wasn't the case, then Roger's solo stuff would have sold like a Floyd album..not withstanding the fact that it was indeed good..and I think Gilmour is far better than an "average frontman" and a "tolerable guitarist"..tolerable guitarists don't get theirs solo's on Fender's #1 list.

  • and what has the floyd done besides Division Bell, since the heart and soul went solo???and yes average, waters did much better having real talent like jeff beck and eric clapton perform on his cds, names im sure are on your Fenders #1 list

  • Ya sure...Jeff Beck is real talent...so talented in fact he can't sustain in one genre...he has to do several cause he's not good at any specific one...oh and um...on aside from the division bell, there was alos Momentary Lapse of Reason...btw, neither beck nor clapton made it to Fender's #1

  • Momentary Lapse was 100%shite and thats, that...and the mere fact that fender didnt have eric or jeff shows what a rag it really is...be well.

  • Momentary wasn't great but it was ok, and Clapton was on Fender's list...but crap like Jeff Beck wasn't...Jeff Beck is ok but hell, he can't even get a cd on the great 500 list...nor a solo on the great 100...he's just bad.

  • Jeff Beck is versatile, not crap.

Best guitarists are: 2. Buckethead 2. Steve Vai 3. Stevie Ray Vaughan 4. Eddie Van Halen 5. Jimi Hendrix.

PINK FLOYD = BEST BAND EVER.

  • I agree with you on the Floyd part but Buckethead...give me a break...we don't need anymore speed-picking freaks...especially not one with a bucket on his head...lame gimmick.

  • I love this song

  • Magic song!

  • makes me cry. 1st song I played 2 my exboy frieng.

  • the female voice is great!

  • utter RELAX song!

    GREAT!

  • Filippa Giordano has her version! very good indeed.

  • whats the name of this movie?? where can i found it?

  • the legend of 1900 is what the movie is called and it,s real nice to sit and watch .

  • how does the lyric go? In Mott Street in July ? Where and what is Mott Street people? Thanks

  • mott street is the name off the street where the lady leaves the ship to go to her father in new york

  • Best song on you tube!

  • i heard the song a million times , i no the wirds off by heart , i didnt reailse it was from a movie ,dose that mean i aint a waters fan ,,,NOT XXX

  • brilliant , i love waters forever x

  • godspeed bretheren

  • I feel that I am here to "hold the child in the man, the child that we leave behind" in this world where people tolerate nuclear weapons ... is this film "The Legend of 1900" about Ther Titanic? But that was 1912..?

  • no, it is not about the titanic.

  • great song great soundtrack great movie

  • the greater soundtrack composer ever + the greater pop composer ever + the greater axe man ever = Great music :-) Listen all the soundtrack...Morricone is a class by itself!

  • Lost Boys Calling is one of the few songs that has the power to make me cry. It's a great song :)

  • Try "Perfect Sense" on Amused to Death :( :(

  • or the studio version of leaving Beirut, the one with the dialogue sections.

  • Try "When the Tigers Broke Free" reduces me to tears in seconds

  • waters was the heart and soul of the FLOYD, not to take anything away from syd, but roger took the band to heights syd could never have dreamed
