so far i have had eliminations at days 504, 840, 1176, 1512, 1848, 2184, and expect my 7th at day 2520. today is day 2358. i have definitely found something. i am not lying. what i have found has gone around the world and many songs have been written about it...the foo fighters last 3 albums...."vertigo" by U2 (my first name is phil)...coldplay's last 2 albums. an elimination is a day when you experience strong flu-like symptoms and feel terrible. bad stuff is washed out of your body.

Australian soldiers are accepted with a certain aptitude and education and psychological profile, they are not "gung ho" crims off the streets like some countries. SO maybe Australian's Defence Force capabilities should not be questioned so harshly guys. Defence forces have a lot of humanitarian roles these days, less focus on war than what you would think.

It'll be hard to get in, but if you're motivated, willing to work and prepare for selection and confident in a situation where you will be an underdog of sorts it can't hurt to give it a shot. However, it's a better idea to take 6-12 months off, do something relevant with your time that will look good to the officers at RMC, and on a resume. That's what I did.

Vietnam - the combined Australian / NZ Task Force was the only ground formation to succesfully pacify the VC, win over hearts and minds, completely defeat the enemy within their AO and complete their ground mission. God I love our salvation army.
